  1. Fun to see the old stuff. My first road bike was a 74 Yahama TX 500 royal blue and I drove the wheels off that bike. 80,000++ miles . Thanks
  2. Not me I have a dealer 6 miles from my house and I try not to do any business with them. They must have a metal detector when you walk in because they want every dime you have. I'm surprised they don't charge for the air you breath while in there.
  3. Has anyone done this? and did it hold up. Thanks Bill
  4. Sorry for your family's loss. We all need family at times like this ,God Bless
  5. Very Nice.
  6. got ya covered and praying for a fast recovery. Bill & Crew
  7. Trader so sorry for what's happening right now. My Mom died last Friday 4-5-13 and her funeral is today. She had a Thyroid cancer that took her in about 10 days at 89yrs.16days. I asked the hospice nurse "How can you do this everyday"? She looked at me and said that "I focus on the joy not the suffering" look at all the people that love Lois and are here or you and her. There was nothing that I wish I had said or sorry that I did and she was at peace. So look for the joy remember the good because we are only here for a " Blink" And I'll send a prayer for you all.Bill & Crew
  8. It's amazing that people on a Yamaha site like their Yamaha's.
  9. Thank you all . My Mom was 89 and had a great life , loved by many and will be missed. There wasn't one thing that I didn't tell her or how much I loved her.I talked with her everyday for 25 years So nothing else needed to be said , and that's good. Bill
  10. My dear mom, Lois Carey, has been diagnosed with an aggressive, untreatable cancer. Moving right to palliative care & hospice. Two weeks ago she enjoyed seeing many friends & family at her 89th birthday bash. It was a wonderful day celebrating the life of a remarkable woman loved by all who know her. Thank you all for your love, prayers & support.
  11. The lord has time for all of us. Prayers for all of your family in this trying time. Bill & Crew
  12. Wow ! I thought Minnesota was the only place where nothing is allowed. Is that for real ? I got a permit back when you just took a written test and you could ride with restrictions. No night ridding , no two up that's was it.(1973) then you had to drive their course in the parking lot.I thought if you made it on the road for 6 months without dieing they should just give you the license.I made a deal with my folks that I would take a safety class and they would co-sign for my new 1974 Yamaha TX 500 royal blue, anything to get a real road bike. I still remember the things that were taught in it . 1. Defend your lane . 2. How easily a bike can be hidden, anything hanging from a mirror the wing window mullein . 3. Stopping distance ,we stop quick 4. the center of the lane is bad news especially wet, oil ,muffler clamps and everything else that falls off . That bike cost less than my house payment today.

  14. I feel your pain .Same here in MN this week a.m. temps were 0° or below. Were still making ice on the lakes .Last year was in the 70's at this time.
  15. I have trailered my bikes twice .Once when I got a flat on a brand new rear tire less than 50 miles on it . The other time I took the family to northern Minnesota to the only road in the state that the AMA rates worthy of driving, Hwy.38 out of Grand Rapids MN they had just resurfaced it and I spent 4 days ripping it up with my V65 Magna. A guy on a Harley asked why I had it in the trailer I told him "I want it to look like a Harley"
  16. I made blueberry pancakes for my youngest daughter and she was slow to the table so I had ate two by the time she got there. She put the syrup on hers from the old restaurant type dispenser with the thumb lever " Dad there are ants in the syrup" no those are blueberries , No those are ants, big black carpenter ants . I put my reading glasses on and sure enough "Ants" I didn't taste the at all. My brother found a band-aid in his Vietnamese stir fry with a spot on it and all. They gave him another free meal and he gladly accepted it,yuck!
  17. "Another gun discussion" so the title is correct. Curiosity must have gotten to some and had to check it out anyways. We are friends and family and I personally respect this groups opinions and comments . So if I have questions or answers I will respectfully ask and give them.
  18. You didn't tell me there was bikers on this site.
  19. We had one at our MPLS /St Paul Air National Guard Museum and this plane gives me goose bumps. I went there and we got to get right up to this plane and put our heads in the landing gear , to cool. The reserve National Guard went and disassembled it brought to Minnesota re assembled it and put the SR 71 on display. There is a pilot that comes to Maple Lake airport days ( right by my house) and is fun to talk with but wont tell you much that someone that likes this plane doesn't all ready know. Then they took the plane to the National Museum and we don't have it there any more. I could shot my 7mm. magnum hi power rifle and this plane could slow down to read the writing on the bullet and then leave it in the dust , kind of like a 1st Gen.
  20. You sure that wasn't just a 1st.Gen. going by.
