unopenable saddlebag lid?
dacheedah replied to yuckly's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I have also had a bad saddlebag experience and ended up compressing the sides as my wife pushed down and it came free. I did pull the cover off and put some white lithiam grease on the moving parts and that has helped, especially by the bar. -
I have eaten prawn's MMMMMMMMMM, I have cooked on the barbie, I also went on a blind date with Barbie and was smitten until the picture in my head was smacked with a reality (ugly) log a stick wasn't big enough. She was vertically challanged, horizontally ample but she was a "Nice Girl". I don't have a clue as to what a footie is butt I am sure Annie can fill us in. . .

I never remember bumping the one on my first gen but the second gen is another thing. I have used it to turn the bike off when talking to someone but I have also bumpped it, luckly not while riding. If my throddle stuck I think it would be just as simple to pull in the clutch and brake.

But if that's their business they should have a solution or everybody would complain abour reassembly. If they are listing a fee to remove the dampers their has to be a reason.

If that was the way it went I completely agree. Here is what I read first "Your custom wheels/parts are carefully logged into our shipping system and engraved to ensure all customers recieve their original parts" they also have the exchange program and in that they charge extra to remove the parts from the wheel. So I guess either way they should have stripped it. Bearing removal$ 25.00 per wheel Bearing race removal$ 25.00 per wheel Bearing race cut-outs$ 50.00 per wheel Damaged hub repair$ 75.00 per wheel Wheel repair for bent wheels$175.00 per wheel Swingarm bearing removal$ 50.00 Swingarm bearing cut-outs$ 50.00 each Broken or stripped bolts$ 50.00 each

Yeah, really bad idea, that's what they make trailers for. Next thing would be, how would you get it up there. If he decides to do it please ask him to put a hero camera on it and post the results. . .

Looked at their web site, they should provide instructions to strip all parts in advance. Customer service is important, a bad word kills future business.

Deer by a highway are used to the noise and learn to ignore it, kind of like your wife telling you what to do. But stop your car , act out of the ordinary or go scent free into the woods and they will bolt. I had deer whistles on my 89 and I honestly don't think you can get them far enough apart. I have also investigated a lot of deer vehicle crashes where the deer ignored those whistles, like when I ask my wife a question while she's watching lifetime.

1st Gen Venture with EFi?
dacheedah replied to twigg's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I thought everything fit on a first gen -
I had a friend from the pd come and visit me and she hung it up. They were meeting a group and someone who was always prompt never showed. His wife stayed home because it was hot and the kids were sick, when they called her she said he left early afternoon. After a long search ( about 4 hrs) they found some small deer parts on the roadway and a search found him in the ditch not far from the deer with his bike tucked neatly in a corn field. They were not visible from the road and he wore a full face helmet. He was riding an ultra glide that looked like it hit a truck. We wear helmets but all protective hear has it's limitations and people and wildlife are unpredictable. . .

When I'm hunting and whistle the deer stop and look, I take that opportunity to launch an arrow.
