I had that after riding in the rain, plugs in fairing got wet. Pull apart, dry and put some dilithium grease around female boot and re-mate. Since I have done this I have ridden in a monsoon with no issues.

Invisible trailers are a pain to pull, and you forget they are there and then hit something, OUCH!! Pulling the tires off and repacking the bearings with invisible bearing grease is a terrible job, and reassembly . . . well you almost need to call Yammer

handle bar adjustments
dacheedah replied to Brake Pad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
pull the chrome caps off, they just push into the end of the bolt, loosen and put them where you want them, re-tighten the top to 18 foot pounds, then tighten the lower bolts to 18 foot pounds, check top, check lower, put the caps back on and ride.- 7 replies

I use the free Microsoft security suite and malware, my only comment is to make sure you are not running two security programs at once. My mother in law was buying McAffee and I asked her why, she has att & they give you mcafee free with there internet access. I make that comment because several providers offer that and people either don't pay attention or forget. I just hate paying for anything twice, it makes it seem like everyone is turning into the government. . .

Check an electronics store for some bullet connector cleaners, they have many different sizes and they have small brushes inside or outside for the male and female, all you need to do is a wipe and spray some contact cleaner on both ends. While out inspect the pins and wires for any loose pin's, you could have one pushing back on you and if not tightly seated it will cause an intermittent problem. If you looked in the fairing and checked the round and two white square connectors for any green, mine ended up with a green pin in the square white connection, next pull the seats and check those connections under the seat. Inspect the wires, follow them and look for any chafing or move while the radio is on to see if you have any crackling to indicate a short. If all that is good it could be a cold solder joint in a controller.

The reset breaker is a good idea, If you pull the bulb and try it and it trips, it tells you it's upstream of the fixture. I would start at the rear and go forward tracing your line looking for chaffing or connectors. Has the fuse box been replaced or are you using the glass fuses? Lots of gremlins come from the old box. My experience has been intermittent issues are usually ground and blown fuse is usually the positive.

My speedo and GPS just don't agree with the factory setup, my GPS shows that I run 65 ( also the radar trailers near construction zones agree with the GPS) and my speedo tells me I am running 71 mph. I just use the speed in the GPS on my phone, it also shows the posted speed and screams red if you go over, that is handy on those roads that run through the lil country towns on trips. Back to point, the change may actually put you closer to the actual speed depending on circumfrance. This isn't rocket science and many tire calculators out there, or you can just do the math because the formula's are there too. I like what you are thinking, please post pictures and updates let us know how it goes. . .

My comment would be that if it were: an english made bike they would tell you to take your torch to look at a gas line an american bike would tell you to take use a flashlight So the difference between a pin hole vs a rip or tear could be as simple as interpretation. . . just sayin

The isimple plugs into the cable in the saddlebag. The cord to the ipod plugs into port 1. Put itunes on your ipod and play. Turn the bike on , plug the ipod in Scroll through your audio and you should see 1-1. That is your ipod

The contact spray we used to use for counter tops is good stuff, spray one side and the the contact side, when dry you put them together. Now once they touch you are done, no fixing that, so you use a bunch of dowl rods and pull them out one at a time while working the sheet. I would trim to size once done but that puppy ain't coming apart.

If they run a title search on the the vin for the trailer and it is titled in a state that does not require plates and the bike pulling it is from the same state you should be ok. If I go into Cheese land and pull a trailer with no plates, I could be looking at a citation, being from the Land of Lincoln, the state of extra regulation and taxes. . . I would always suggest checking for official literature from your state's DMV regarding registration and follow it. I do know in some states trailers under 3000# must be titled but do not require registration, follow the book and keep a copy on hand. Sometimes it's worth paying to register a trailer in an optional state to avoid hassles down the road.

Butyl should stay pliable I know they use some kind of putty for RV's that is very sticky, holds things very well and is water tight. If you ever put a light on or something you use it between the light and skin and it protects it.
