  1. And as a reminder WD40 is flammable, it has a 131 degree flash point, it was a fuel source of a fire I was a part of the investigation.
  2. I removed some foam from my seat and set in gel and changed the pillowtop, even better than stock. Butler does a great job for not that much money. I also like a backrest, makes it much more comfortable.
  3. let us know how you waterproof it
  4. I wouldn'y use pb blaster, use cable glide. If the handlebars are not stock or it has risers check the cable routing, they could be pinched.
  5. The seat is the black padded thing behind the tank
  6. We rode to Kerstings Motorcycle Museum in Indiana, they have a wooden bike there. Lots of bikes and history there. http://www.kerstingscycle.com/muse.html

  10. You need to pull your tank, on the left front, the two throttle cables runs into a black plastic housing almost under your bars. In that box is a cam and spring. Two cables run into the front of the cam, two cables runs back to the carbs and one runs down. Be careful of the spring and placement but pull it open and wipe any debris from the cables, lube them, inspect for proper placement and function and reassemble. The cable running down is controlling the cruise, if you have different handle bars or the cam has been apart I would inspect to make sure they it is correctly in it's place. If you remove the throttle cables make sure they are in the correct location ( one is a pullback). Should be some threads on changing cables. Follow your cable down and make sure it is connected at the other end. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71505&highlight=install+throttle+cables

  19. Be careful adding air to the shocks, you can go to Yamaha's website and open the manual. http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/myyamaha/prompt/L3N0YXIvc2VydmljZS92aWV3bWFudWFscy9zdGFyX21hbnVhbHMuYXNweA==/Owners%20Manual/starthere.aspx just proceed to the manual. I suggest reading this it actually can explain a lot. This is a great bunch of people, even if you bought a different bike it's worthy the $12.00 a year for the wisdom. See you on the road. . .
  20. Comparing the 89 Venture Royale seemed much easier than the 2011 RSV, I think the 1st gen's front ends seem lighter or is it just the dynamic of you are pushing the added weight when turning? Maybe moving the cassette and class back on the first gen also pushed weight toward the center of the bike.
  21. 2008 might have some warranty left, check the vin with a dealor
  22. only 272 miles away, I will almost b on the way to the international
