Comparing the 89 Venture Royale seemed much easier than the 2011 RSV, I think the 1st gen's front ends seem lighter or is it just the dynamic of you are pushing the added weight when turning? Maybe moving the cassette and class back on the first gen also pushed weight toward the center of the bike.

I would give it a shot of penetrating oil a few times and let it soak, then heat and give it some more to let it get in there. After that heat it again if you can turn it ever so slightly give it some more and work it in and out, oil, then walk away for a bit. More penetrating oil and see if you can heat it again and walk it out. Time can be your friend here.

doesn't the kit from yamaha include a star engraved ipod?? When I got mine with the bike it was in one box, cables, isimple, ipod and new owners manual that included the ipod/isimple.

? Is it coming on and not wanting to stay on, do the set lights blink, does it indicate it's on and just not set? The lights should blink if it has a problem, if not check the throttle cable and see if it's loose. It won't come on until you are at about 40mph and in 4th or 5th gear. the cruise light should be on and when you set that light should be on also. If the set and res flash it is a dealer issue. I rode to work today and it was 28f out, didn't use it but I have when it's cold and never an issue.

My speedometer on my trusty rsv is off by almost 10mph , so when it says 80 I am goin 70. I found this out riding with a group who said I was drivin like a grandpa. I noticed it took extra time going a distance and used a gps to confirm. Just remember that as you increase speed the laws of physics increase exponentially. if you increase your speed 10mph , your stopping distance increases about 1.75% , it takes less steering input to move the same distance at higher speeds and all that equates to less room for error. Not passing judgement but I used to drive fast, now I just drive to get there.

I saw a bike pulling a kayak, not sure it was as long as yours, it was upside down on a box about the width of the kayak, I only assume that was where they kept provisions. It had a low profile, it wasn't any higher than the piggy backer. As for length I added a longer tongue on my hf trailer and it is about 10' long.

My 2011 came with it and I installed it, it was simple. My complaint is that it worked great until apple did an upgrade, now it hangs on some songs. I have found it plays audio ripped from origination cd's fine, does not songs ripped from "best of" K-tel type cd's. You can only have your songs in one of five directory's set up in itunes. It will kill your battery in about three days if you leave your ipod on. I actually like my iphone better on the handlebars plugged into the aux input. I can listen to pandora or itunes and gps at the same time.

My first thought is to try to bypass the kill switch and ride a bit, if the issue doesn't reoccur it's the switch or wiring between where you bypassed it or the switch. I have never pulled a kill switch apart but my guess is not too many moving parts. Could also try to spray contact cleaner in it but my experience is when a switch starts going south you are just prolonging the inevitable and that will happen at the worse possible moment. If it wasn't the kill switch I would peak at the ignition switch or sidestand but with the blinking on the power side I would throw my guess at the ignition switch.
