Just remember towers are rated for load, so make sure the tower will support what you put on it. I have seen towers come down from adding one more antenna, and they don't bend pretty. The pre amp+ amp vs stacking with a combiner is all the way you look at it. When the Govt changed to digital they took snow away. You either get a signal or you don't , the stacking you should use the same antenna above / below each other, cable length between antennas the same length into the combiner. It's not right or wrong but what works for you. Actually your picture will be true hi def vs cable or dish.

As a supervisor I will tell you that people are reluctant to complain and it's the only way to weed out the problem children. You must take a soft but assertive approach and I go evidence in hand. I don't take an arguing approach but a curiosity approach, do you have your book? I'd like to see that please. The officer should have called in the stop and the dispatch should have cad'd the call and disposition. All should require an hdtv or an analog tv with anhdtv converter. If u r deep fringe you can stack antennas, spaced vertically the same distance as the widest elements. Must be aimed exactly the same and use a combiner. Make sure to bond the tower

He is absolutely wrong, I was a LEO in the state of Illinois for 30 years. I would suggest a conversation with his supervisor. U don't need a thing as long as the windshield is above eye level while seated upright and in the "normal" riding position. Next all eyeglasses are made with shatter resistant glass, thats a law, even sun glasses, so he has a burden of proof that you were sold illegal lenses. Next time I suggest you ask to see his ILCS chapter 625 5/ vehicle code, so he can point it out to you. (625 ILCS 5/11-1404) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-1404) Sec. 11-1404. Special equipment for persons riding motorcycles, motor driven cycles or mopeds. I would still bond it on the surface, cheap protection (for your house and people) If it took a direct strike it may actually smoke the bonding wire, if you can see it you can fix it for the next event. I personally would not rely on something I could not visually inspect and repair.

any good truck stop will probably have a basic one for about 20.00, and probably have any parts you need also, I just set the swr on my bike and needed to trim the factory antenna down.

I would say after 24 hrs spray sealer, 14 days of rest. 1 copper grounding rod for each leg, as close as you can get it to the leg, and bonded with heavy minimum 6awg cable to each.

Im in on replacing the capacitor. I put a whole house serge suppressor in, it takes 2 50a breakers and connects to your main panel. If you are hit with a serge it is supposed to protect the house.
