  1. I agree, it's awesome. I drove 2 1/2 hrs with it being a tad bit windy and got off with no back pain or stiffness. It adjusts about every which way. I'm 5 10 225.
  2. I don't know why this didn't work
  3. Ok I was cleaning my garage, a work in progress, when I came across my dremil tool. A light bulb went off as I purchased aftermarket saddlebag rails and they are smaller diameter. I did try some grommets but didn't like the look ( can you say afterthought) and they didn't work well. I decided to mark the location of the rails and with a sanding wheel remove some plastic to allow for mounting in the original position. I used the insides as a template for the radius as a starting point and a small sanding wheel to ease away the plastic. Once one sided was done and fit I placed them together to position the other half and repeated the process.
  4. Look at your VIN The first digit denotes where the motorcycle was produced (example: J for Japan) The eighth digit represents whether the bike will receive a green or a red sticker( the letter "c" or the number "3" will receive red anything else will be green to figure out your year, count your VIN from left to right (Or as you would normally read it) 10 CHARACTERS. Compare your Character with the chart below. For example of your 10th character is a "W" then look at the chart below, your bike is a 1998. If your 10th character is a 5 then your bike is an 05 and so on. 1980 = A 1981 = B 1982 = C 1983 = D 1984 = E 1985 = F 1986 = G 1987 = H 1988 = J 1989 = K 1990 = L 1991 = M 1992 = N 1993 = P 1994 = R 1995 = S 1996 = T 1997 = V 1998 = W 1999 = X 2000 = Y 2001 = 1 2002 = 2 2003 = 3 2004 = 4 2005 = 5 2006 = 6 2007 = 7 2008 = 8 2009 = 9
  5. Put a drivers backrest on that puppy and walk it back sitting on the saddle
  6. Two questions, is that a two stroke and have you checked compression on the cyls?
  7. I use the iphone, it is awesome, I have a mount on my handlebars and plug it in. It's my phone, my GPS, my email and my browser on the road. If I am hungry it tells me where restaurants are and the kind of food they serve, I need medicine it tells me where the pharmacies are, I need a Yamaha dealer it tells me where the nearest ones are. . . . I can touch the number and it calls them or the address and it guides me there. I can connect it to my bike and hear music or just take a ride when I am on call and know that I didn't miss anything staying at home. I can even click on the forums app and talk to u guys on the road. . . It's made life more complicated and simplified it at the same time. I love his innovation and will celebrate that he used the gifts God gave him. I am sure he wouldn't have wanted me as his neighbor, we probably wouldn't have been hunting, fishing or riding partners but thats ok. In the grand scheme of things we will be judged by how we live our lives and what we have done for our fellow man.
  8. Short Timer, odds of failure very high
  9. Sea Foam is amazing stuff, kind of like lucas, its a great gas additive will help you maintain your fuel system. You can find it at most auto stores, WalMart . . .
  10. Hey, was that a first Gen??
  11. Da world is a cruel place
  12. I wired mine to running and brake lights. They do not have a ground wire and you will need to ground the body. I also hate cutting into the factory wiring or using splices so I soldered the end to a short wire, about 3" long and heat shrinked it with a male bullet connector on one end and a female on the other, unplug the factory wiring and simply plug it into each side. The bright light is the breaks, dim side running and run a ground to from the tail light plug to the frame of the light that you bolted to the license plate holder. If you don't ground the body your running lights will work and when you hit the breaks they will go off. . .
  13. Man, Da Bears just didn't show up after halftime, ewe got ure W
  14. I use http://forums.iboats.com/forum.php for my boat issues, not real familiar with Yamaha marine but lots of good help there. Good luck
  15. 1) Do you have a fuel / water separator? If so drain it or for cartridge replace the filter. If you don't have one, get one. 2) get a gallon of fresh clean gas from a shell , Phillips in a fresh container and go direct to the motor. Cheap gas causes lots of issues. ( I always run marine stabil and this time of year I double up) 3) If it's DI pull the plugs and mark a line on the ceramic on the opposite side of the ground electrode. I know that this will cause an e-tec to run bad, the electrode needs to face away from the injector. 4) Bad injector , try switching the injector to see if the problem moves / or carb hose . . . I had to replace all my hoses with lined hoses because of ethanol and use oetiker clamps instead of the cheap hose clamps. Make sure your priming bulb is hanging vertically from the motor and not laying horizontal.
  16. All day on the bike and no back pain, the back rest is awesome. It has a lot of adjustments, looks great and was not a bad install.
  17. Thoughts and prayers, St Michael protect them
  18. In Illinois our gas is at least E10, most cheaper stations have E10 signs but run higher ethanol. Ethanol trashes your rubber and does not burn as efficiently as gas. I just had to put all new hoses on my boat with a lined gas line to deal with the ethanol. When I drive to my brothers in Tennesee my gas mileage always goes up. You can find kits to check your gas formulations, station to station will be different. Saving a few cents per gallon doesn't always save you in the long run.
