  2. It only takes one to make you question them all. We used to have a Judge that looked like he was sleeping on the bench and when he ruled we were certain it was true. . .
  3. I have a boat trailer with tandems, usually pull it with the truck but at times my wife will user her jeep to take it to gas it in town.. The tandoms pull straight well but turning, especially a tight turn, they will fight each other in some turns one wheel will scrub.

  6. Thoughts and prayers go out to you. Be good and do what the Dock tells ya, get better and you will be back in no time.
  7. Totally awesome, a kid with a future, makes a man proud.
  8. Congrats, I love Apple!!! I thought you were going to tell us he did something really stupid like, buy a Harley or even a wing or even worse. He could have had a nasty argument about what oil to put in the bike or told you how useless torque wrenches are. Sooo congrats and hats off to the lad.
  9. The light I have looks like the second one ( 3 wires) ground, I wired running, now looking to do a stop ( third brake light) thing.
  10. I think I will work on option 2
  11. Ok, Trailer wiring question. I found an led stop turn strip. I put two smaller LED's at the top of the trailer as stop turns and hooked the center to running lights and was going to do stop then it dawned on me I was running a four wire system so they are stop turn. I am running a four wire system. Short of running another wire is there a way to grab the stop / turns from both sides, run it through some relays so I can get another center brake on the trailer???
  12. Investigation 101. . . What's within walking distance?? I would look for houses in the less than a mile range, first thought is teen aged kids. Check with your 911 center and neighbors and see if anyone heard the shots or saw someone walking with a rifle or pistol. If the site is secluded I would look at people who have been here before, sounds like young or new to guns. . .
  13. Riding the fence on this. Before I retired from my 30 years of police service I was always cautious of responding with lights especially in daylight hours. People are driving around, I would swear wearing their butts as hats, all of the sudden the recognized the lights and the gut reaction of a lot of people is breaks, they hit the breaks. Now you are trying to go and they are stuck on woah. This is a big topic when teaching officers emergency driving procedures. It is often safer to weave in and out of traffic, you still have to have an emergency plan. When driving you can only control two things that relate to driving, speed and direction. Everything I have read is that visibility is very important. Visibility or conspicuousness can be achieved through helmet color and brightly colored clothing, like highway safety vests, most bike riders wear dark clothes, leather. Their are no good statistics on modulators, LEO's are not trained to look for them when investigating crashes and the DOT has not placed them on the traffic crash report form. I can make my case here becuase look at the number of people who have them and get stopped and talked to or cited only to complain in the forums. The majority of fatal accidents are single vehicle, no help here from a modulator. Not too far behind are your multi vehicle accidents but about 70% of fatal accidents occur during daylight hours. Over half of those are on roads with speed limits over 45mph. Over half of motorcycle accidents occur from 4-6pm. The car that pulls out in front of you is more likely to pull out from a T intersection than a four way. These stats are from DOT 2001-2008 and are what we are trying to avoid being included in. There are also statistics that show that the areas that are high accident areas for motorcycle crashes are also high accident areas for cagers. My take is that we need more driver training and practice avoiding hazards. B Safe out there

  18. The road king takeoffs are dirt cheap, easy to drill or modify. I would box up your stock set and put em away for future use. . .
  19. I have heard the statistics on this, if you drive one mile or less to work, you are more likely to die in a car accident than win. ( apparently they haven't driven my mile to work) if you don't buy a ticket your odds are 0%, if you do bou a ticket your odds are .0000000006 % my friends yesterday and today will be my friends tomorrow, my family yesterday and today will be my family tomorrow, everyone else can walk the path they have been walking. . .

  21. lots of good cams, u want ir and no flash. b careful about mounting the camera, we get lots stolen here. You can pick up a cheap dvr security camera that will do a better job but may cost more, in the end u could relocate it where u want and it would probably be easier to conceal... http://www.menards.com/main/electrical/safety-security/security-systems/indoor-outdoor-wireless-analog-camera/p-1398505-c-6470.htm
  22. 1st Gen. Awesome bike that even has a cassette player 2nd Gen The most awesome bike ever, far prettier n faster than a 1st Gen and wait, yes, it still has a cassette player
  23. I know we used to hit houses where drug sales or undesireable activity ... was going on. It is all luck and intelligence by LEO's and the neighbors. I did have neighbors that we got to keep logs to figure out patterns of activity ( including day of week, time of day, plates . . .) trust me it can be frustrating to Law Enforcement as well as the neighbors, all I can say is work with them. . .
  24. I have trailer breaks on my deck boat trailer, actually they are tandem's so x4, and adjusting them for the road isn't usually a problem. I have had occasions where I have had a holy shhhh moment and used hard breaking and steering and the trailer will lock and jerk back or slide. The truck has abs but not on the trailer and the only option is to let off and slowly apply again. I just see trying to ride around an obstruction while breaking and having the back tire being pulled out of my line of travel at a critical moment, or electrical failure, or if surge breaks a hydrolic issue... and a false sense of security plus the added weight of the breaking system itself. I am just thinking lite is right . . .
