I have had the pleasure to observe skydoc with a pair of those and he is an artist. I can say they are very useful , especially if you have fat fingers, getting into tight places.

Ok lets change this to a thread about oil and have some real fun.

small soft wire brush or cut an old emery board and slip it in and out. the audio connections are the black plugs right by where you are working. I would open them one at a time and inspect, dielectric grease around the female side at the groove on the side only. Once together wipe any excess off with a rag. You will be glad you did.

you want to isolate your trailer lights, several kits are available that use battery power for your trailer but copy the signal. A member vendor makes a harness you can connect to on the bench and then just plug in under the seat and that is the way to go. Your only question is do you want a 4 or 5 wire system, both are available. . .

I hope there wasn't a first gen in there:witch_brew:

The radar looses half of it's energy by the time it reaches the end of the hood of the car. It is electromagnetic non thermal microwave radiation. It's just a radio wave that sends a signal and measures how long for it to return, and another . . . answer is your speed. There are units that are basically on but with a switch that turns the antenna (cone) off when button is not pushhed, press it and when the detector goes off you are had. Laser still uses radio waves but they are in the light spectrum and very sensative and narrow, you must hold still to get a reading but the distance is much longer. Officers used to put the gun in their laps and yes that is a bad practice but remember thae power in that radio spectrum is lost very quickly. ( the same as old cell phone brain cancers or public safety radio's with antennas by the officers head. Now many units and some states require units, to be dash or visabar mounted. You have more to worry about the cell signal you are carrying around, blue tooth, CB, am and fm radio signals, they are all low level radiation.

Or check the connections in the fairing, if you do that put a bead of dielectric grease around the outside edge of the connectors ( not on the pins as it is non conductive)

Most LEO's won't bother you, but that does leave some that do. Someone here needs to come up with a quick mount for a plate that locks on the bike, can be moved over to the cooler rack when needed. I would put a white light for the plate( that does not shine to the rear) , your other lights are visible. Think of hunting season, lots of racks hiding plates and few get tickets. If you were real worried you could put a laminated picture the correct size of your plate or also ask your DMV for a duplicate plate for the cooler rack. I do like the idea.

Jimmy Buffett Night tonight, Labor Day Boat Races
dacheedah replied to dacheedah's topic in Watering Hole
It's a long party with noise all day, bands at night. Our house is past the last barricade and you have to tell them you are coming to our house. They try sometimes to steer people to public parking but we have plenty ( we share a drive with the neighbor to the west and their parking is more limited ). River is closed during the day but at night we will putt on the river (in the boat). If you look at the website most venders, bands .. are on the south side of the river, we are across from them by the pits. -
Another goofy project... diggin' into your scrap piles.
dacheedah replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Watering Hole
Find a phone guy working on a box or a line or maybe a com ed guy, I bet they toss tons of those scraps -
Halfwit, someone stole your southside logo and swapped it out for the amateur team to da north. L

I personally like the receiver types, if you saw a recent thread of taking an old ball off the back this is just one reason. The biggest is that you can change from ball, to flag holder to cooler rack to golf club holder. . . ( I have only seen this once but we live down the road from a country club and I have seen a wing with a set of clubs on the back.) so I guess you are only limited by necessity, I don't golf but thought it would be easy way to take some bag chairs along.) Several types out there and I believe playboy and some others have made there own. . . It's about what works for you. I do prefer to buy from a member vender.

I drove 70 - 80 on strait flat open roads. I pulled in the rain and wind and top end went 55 - 60. I also increase my following distances a bunch, rarely hit OD and will take extra breaks. It is doable with practice, patience and extra time loading. Always check your connections at stops and develop some good habits. Don't feel rushed by the vehicles behind you, let them pass. . .

Short notice but tonight is Jimmy Buffett night at the Kankakee Boat Club. We share a fence with them and so when they have Jimmy Buffett night, we have Jimmy Buffett night. If you are in the area please stop by. Sorry for the short notice, bad week at work. For Labor Day Weekend, Boat Races behind the house or as we call it Nascar on the water. One turn is right behind the house and they start right next door so we have our own little private VIP section. They usually have bands at night also. Room for tents if you want to camp. http://www.kankakeeregatta.com/

Personally I would call the secretary of state police or whoever is responsible for auto dealers. If you bought or financed your bike and have a receipt they can only hold it for the cost of your repairs. Bring copies of the paperwork but not the origionals of all paperwork you have. They may have a civil action against you for the deductable on the damage on the loaner, unless you can show it was a defect that caused the damage in the first place. Did you sign any papers to take the loaner or have your bike fixed, if so and you signed anything read the fine print. Your insurance will probably pay for the damages if you were riding it, less deductable. If they won't and the cosignee has insurance his should pay, you still owe the deductable. If the bike is titled and plated to you and you have paid for the repairs they can't hold your property. If you get no where here I would ask the officer to do a report and go to the attorney general's office in your state. In Illinois it would be considered extortion to hold your property.
