    I had a BF Goodrich TA on my RS when I traded it in. Had a couple thousand on it. Didn't mind it at all. Very smooth ride being a radial. I will not use a car tire on a 15" wheel ever again though. There is a bit of difference in the bead design between car and MC in that size. That's why it takes so much pressure to seat the bead. I'd have no problem with a 16" wheel as they are very similar in design. JMT[/i]

    They ran like a BOH, didn't say I always drove like that. Sounds like you need to play with your carb's some.

    I've had 2 RS. (V and TD) Played with carbs a fair bit. Always took off carb heaters (not needed) and AIS sys (also not needed). Both bikes got good mileage (over 40 MPG), spark plugs always looked good and both ran like a bat out of hell. If you worry about pollution on a over 40 MPG vehicle, I hope you're driving a Volt or Prius.

    I'd love to have the new FJ-09. Trade in for a RSTD is shameful and they just won't sell around here!

    I got the same thing with my K&N's, just dirty on that small spot on end. I opened up the inlet 50% by putting a diamond shaped inlet in so the air can get down the sides and also installing one size larger slow jets. Overall better performance IMO. Just breaths better and the filters get dirty in a much broader pattern. Clean once a year.

    That's a tough question. Some people never get rid of it. I'm lucky my 06 RSTD is a quiet as a mad mouse! (exhaust.........no whine)

    I got mine for freeeee My best friend bought it for me, $300 with a good tire on it. No rotors though. Used the stock ones.

    The strat wheel is a 18" rim vs 16" for stock wheel, so shorter profile and feels more solid. The 130 wide tire is stock size for that rim. Next front tire will be a rear tire mounted backwards for double darkside!

    I have the Stratoliner wheel which has the 130 tire. Solid on the hyway.

    I missed the terminology used here. Seems the "Leveling links" raise the rear, while the "Lowering links" do lower. Gets confusing at times. So you're back to stock height and has better handling, while some else raised another inch and has better handling. Maybe if I went 2" up I'd get a track bike!

    Well leveling links must make no difference in handling cause we just got confirmation from two opposite opinions. :rotf:

    Nice thing about the TD mufflers is that they have removable tips. You can drill the mufflers if you want, then if you don't like it, just put the tips back on and it covers them up.

    I have access to these screw caps and have put them on my windshield top screws as I remove them frequently, but haven't felt the need for the hard-bags. How often do you need to remove them? For a new tire, what else?

    Of the bikes with flashers, I NEVER used them..............so I don't miss them on the RSTD!

    The Venture has them, so does my ZRX1100, but all the other bikes I've owned did not.

    RSTD's do not have 4-way flashers.

    You were on fumes! Most I put in was 4.8 gal. Oh wait a minute. RSTD is 5.3, RSV is 6 right?

    Really, how many other 850 lbs. sport bikes have you ridden?

    Additionally, Every time I ride my friends Honda VTX1800, I say, give me my bike back! And to think I almost bought one before my RSTD!
