  1. Hey! Me bake? I can't ride a bike and bake cherry pies at the same time!!!
  2. Originally posted by 86er But I've got a question, in Ga when you finish an accredited rider course, you get your endorsement, doesn't that happen in SC? Or do you take the certificate to the DMV and get the all important "M" on your license? Thank you, Todd! South Carolina requires that you pass vision, written, and skills tests to get your motorcycle license. Since I took the Beginner's Class, that is what I would have to do. The certificate I received yesterday gives me a discount on motorcycle insurance. MSF, in its Intermediate Class, will test you there after the course, saving time to get it done at DMV. However, I want to be a lot more comfortable riding before I get out on the streets. More than likely taking the Intermediate Class in accomplishing that goal. It is AWESOME operating your own bike, but Sleeperhawk met me for lunch yesterday and was on the bike. It was so nice being able to hold on to him!!!!
  3. Yee Haw!!!! I am now the proud owner of a certificate stating that I have successfully completed a rider-skill training course!:cool10: We rode all morning under partly cloudy skies, and NO RAIN!!! That was a VERY enlightening class and I have learned so much that I have taken for granted when riding with Sleeperhawk. Hmmmm, wonder if I can sneak Sleeperhawk's bike out for a spin around the block? Nope, not ready for a bike of that size! Once again, my hat off to all riders! Ride safe, Bobbie
  4. Yeehaw!!! Off to the Monday night game, the Jayhawks go!:cool10::cool10: Look forward to seeing you next weekend, Tim! I'll share the crow with you for being such a great sport!:rotf:
  5. I would have loved to have heard the conversation in the kitchen after we left!
  6. Ahh, after a hot bubbly bath drawn by Sleeperhawk and two cups of his delicious coffee, I am finally feeling like a human being! :happy-emoticon:Oh, and Sleeperhawk ordered pizza in for us since Final Four is starting soon! In spite of the heavy downpours all day today, learning how to ride a bike (the right way) was awesome! I started out this morning anxious but right now, while trying to get some homework done before the game starts, I reflect how much I learned and how good it felt to be on a bike, even though it was a 250! My hat is off to everyone who rides a bike. I am amazed at how you guys handle us passengers. I could only handle myself today! Taking pictures is not allowed (thank goodness) at these classes. And I will still hold ride with Sleeperhawk and hold on to his waist! Thank you all for your encouraging words! Ride safe, Bobbie
  7. Aww, Tim, how can I resist?!!!! The bet is on! May the best Jayhawk team win! Looking forward to seeing you on the 12th, by the way - rain or shine, win or lose!!!!
  8. My prediction is overtime with Kansas winning by a couple!
  9. Kansas Jayhawks v. North Carolina Tarheels! Dave38x (Tarheel fan) will be at our house Saturday for the game! Should be fun and interesting!
  10. Glad to hear you made it home okay, Lowell, but we didn't realize that you were going to go all the way! Hope to see you again soon! Ride safe.
  11. It all worked out okay, Eck. Sleeperhawk is going to contact the dealer tomorrow about the ignition switch, which the guys finally determined was the problem, and that should be covered under warranty. We still feel that all that rain affected the ignition switch somehow. Gotta get the bike up and running in time for the Virginia Meet and Eat on April 12!
  12. Sleeperhawk led Wildhair out this morning around 8:00 a.m. We had a great visit with Lowell - but poor guy, he had to endure a Texas Longhorn basketball game:crying: but was able to enjoy a Kansas Jayhawk basketball victory:thumbsup:! After having getting in at midnight Saturday night, it was great to sleep in Sunday morning and just laze around the rest of the day! Sleeperhawk and I want to thank everyone for being there for us Saturday during our Mis-Ad-Venture. It once again hits home how wonderful our "Family" is. Beer was ready to come get us (7 hours one way) with his trailer. One of the guys who stopped and helped block traffic for us when we pushed the bike off the highway was amazed that someone was willing to drive that far. I told him that we had some wonderful friends. Then out of the blue, here comes Royalstarjack and his wife! They were there with us all of the way, helping block traffic for us, and giving us moral support! And after being greeted so warmly by everyone at Col. Poole's, we knew it was worth getting there! Needless to say, everyone on the ride was in one the rest of our Mis-Ad-Venture in the country roads. Yet, everyone stuck with us - 86er, Blackjack, Dragonrider, Riderduke, Leo, Chris and Wildhair. And to top it off, Wildhair rode back to South Carolina with us just in case we broke down. Also, not to mention all the phone call support we had with Squidley, Beer30 and Freebird! What can I say except, once again, we are so fortunate to be part of such a wonderful Family. :bighug:
  13. I thought you would say that it was not the best side of Wildhair that you have seen!
  14. That was some beautiful country the guys rode through. I hope we will be going through there together! And you took great pictures, Honey!!!!
  15. Sleeperhawk and I were not aware that Riderduke was bringing ribs this last weekend! That would have been very tempting! Beer, you just didn't give us a lot of time to get there; you must have known that Sleeperhawk was out riding the countryside! We will just have to wait until the next "maintenance day"! Sounds like pay-back time!!!
  16. It depends on what tools you guys need. The Dungeon can only hold so much!
  17. Ummmm, that sounds so good and so much fun!!!
  18. The beautiful thing about this group of folks is that you never know what is going to happen or what is going to be said!!! Kudos to your son, Wayne! He fits right in with us!
  19. Looks like the Jayhawk is the better animal (for now!):cool10::whistling:
  20. Kansas Jayhawks (George) v. Texas Longhorns (me) Big 12 Champion Game today! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_7_2.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_8_2.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_1_106.gif May the best animal win!
  21. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark's family and friends. Having met Mark at Vogel last year for the first time, it was readily apparent that he is a fine man and is indeed riding the streets of gold. George and Bobbie
  22. It will be a crash course, in more ways than one!!!!:dancefool:
  23. Just want you to know that George and I have you and Eileen and both your families in our thoughts and prayers. It is so sad to have such losses in both of your families. Just remember that your other "family" is here for ya'll too. Bobbie and George
  24. Sleeperhawk just HAD to check out his new flander bars on the twisties!:whistling: And I must say, I thought they did very well:thumbsup2: Just a practice run for spring riding!
  25. I don't think so!!!!!:no-no-no:
