Ben, it is so good to see your post. When Riderduke got the call Saturday night about your accident, it was such a shock. If there is anything George and I can do from here, please let us know. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers and are so thankful for your guardian angels.
-
It might scare off the bugs too!
-
They will when we are there, that is for sure!!:whistling:
-
No, you are not posting a lot on this thread, David. We greatly appreciate your updates. Thank you so much.
-
Sounds like we are going to have a great crowd at the Comfort Inn!

Beer30 is who! :rasberry:You know what we're talking about!!!:rotf:

Thank you, David, for the update.

David, have you heard anything else on Ben? Also, do you know when it happened yesterday? Riderduke got the call about the accident around 10:00 last night from Jacob, Ben's friend. We haven't been able to get any information and Riderduke is already on the way home. I was offline last night when you posted on FB and you were offline when I got back on. Keep us posted on what you hear.

After breakfast this morning, Riderdue is headed home, hoping to avoid a lot of rain on the way. We had a few showers already but the sun was out when he left. Everything looks great on the bike and as always, we had a blast!

Riderduke came down for a little "wheel" work with us this weekend! :cool10:Just a few pics of Sleeperhawk "teaching" Riderduke how to ungrease and grease! Humm, I think the guys got more on them than on the bike! Thankfully, I did not have my camera when the garage monster (cousin to the pond monster) showed up ! Bear30, you would have been proud of Riderduke!:whistling: Took the bike out for a short ride to check things out and everything was AOKAY! Good job guys! Fun time!!!

I guess I am confused as to who Jeff is- Sleeperhawk is George!
-
Well, let me just state that our tank capacity filled up at one stop with 5.7 gallons. I was still willing to ride further but we did not want to run the risk of running out of gas and I simply was not thrilled with the thought of pushing the bike through the Georgia mountains until we got to a gas station! :whistling:I have no problem riding hard and fast and more than likely can outlast the guys! Just ask Sleeperhawk and he will tell you the truth!

Great pics! :thumbsup2:Thank you for sharing!
-
Wow, you guys have had an adventure getting there! Glad you made it okay! Can't wait to see the pictures!
-
Congratulations! :clap2:Glad to hear that your spirits are up. I have discovered that our VR family is the best! I hope you are enjoying living in Texas ! I do get homesick, there is just no place like home! Give Lonna hugs for us and you two deserve to celebrate!

Sleeperhawk's Surprise Birthday M&E PICS

I got the little Nikon camera so I could carry it in my pocket to the restaurant so George wouldn't know something was going on. I have a 35 mm Canon Rebel that I use but it was too big to sneak in! I use it on the bike as well. We all had a great time and the weather was absolutely perfect this weekend! Suffice it to say, we are ready for good riding weather! Ride safe! -
Sleeperhawk's Surprise Birthday M&E PICS

David, just to let you know, I took my new little camera back to Best Buy today and told them what it had been doing Friday night with the red bar and reddish pictures. The clerk turned on the camera and lo and behold, it came up with the red bars like it did there at Texas Roadhouse!! I never used the camera after Friday night. The service tech said that the CDC (whatever that is) was bad and I got a refund on the camera. So you and I were both right, the camera was screwed up and not us! (For a change!) :happy65: I will stick with my good big camera from here on out! -
Riderduke's new "Hair-him"

That is his alias! -
First of all, with Riderduke's help, I threw a surprise birthday party for George last Friday! Everyone showed up at Texas Roadhouse here in Columbia on Friday afternoon and George was VERY surprised when he and I got there and he started recognizing our VR family! Already there were Riderduke, Mini-Muffin, Beer30, Sledgehammer, Venturing Sole, Pecker, Bugfish69, Ladybug, Painterman and Laura and Wanderer. Then in a few minutes, Blackjack, 86er and Eck came in! After dinner, Blackjack, 86er and Eck headed back to George and Alabama (they made the trip just for dinner!) and everyone else came to our house and spent Friday night and Saturday night! We all stayed up late playing Wii games! I cooked breakfast Saturday morning and after a leisurely morning, we rode to Lake Wateree. Sledgehammer needed to get back home so he left. After lunch at our favorite marina, we headed back to Columbia via DQ and a stop at Auto Zone for a couple of bike maintenance projects. There was a store next door for "spirits". We got home and the guys worked on the bikes and solved the world's ills at the same time! I had put some chicken catetori in the crock pot and with garlic toast and salad, supper was ready! After watching the movie GI Joe The Rise of Cobra, much to Riderduke's delight, everyone was ready to crash! Getting up early was in the works for this morning so we rode over to Lizard's Thicket and ate breakfast. Sleeperhawk and I rode up with the group as far as Lumberton, North Carolina, said our goodbyes and headed home! We had such a blast all weekend! I cannot tell you how much Sleeperhawk enjoyed this surprise and what a delightful time we had with our VR family! So many thanks to everyone for making this happen and keeping it a surprise! And the reason for the title of this post is that Riderduke has discovered the beginnings of his "Hair-him". Pictures are worth a thousand words, but I must add that the last picture is a result of the "morning after"! Sleeperhawk has posted the rest of the pictures in the Picture Folder!

You guys are making me long for some great Cajun cooking! Did you by any chance have any Boudan and fresh French bread? When I lived in New Iberia years ago, our office runner would go and get Boudan and French bread on Friday mornings! What a treat that was!!! Sleeperhawk said we should have been there!

Maintenance Day with The Kid and Pecker

I kept looking for you Ted!!! It did not seem right either. Just hope you guys can get down this way again! How is Patricia enjoying Maryland? Tell her hi for me! -
The Kid came down from Charlotte to get Sleeperhawk do a carb tune on his bike and Pecker came over to assist. The guys first helped work on some rewiring on Sleeperhawk's bike and then Sleeperhawk did the carb tune. :happy65:Each time I looked at The Kid's bike, I found more Jack Daniels on there! Then it was time for a lunch ride to try a new BBQ place called Hudson's Smokehouse in Lexington. (This place is on our list for the next SC M&E). What a beautiful day for a ride! :dancefool:After a great late lunch, it was time for everyone to go home! Too bad they missed out on the cherry pie waiting for them at home! We really enjoyed the visit and hope The Kid will come back down to see us!
