I bought one at Wal-Mart, very light very small a couple clips at the bottom to keep it on the bike, I added a couple light ropes for extra security. It was cheap and light for the proce I would consider it almost a disposable once a year. Get the extra large size. I am minly using it as a dust cover, fits in a small bag takes up less space than my tour master rain suit I put it on my Goldwing under my carport while I am away for the summer. So far it has survived Tropical storm Andrea, Al

I did took it out for a half hour ride. engine impressed me. It was comfortable for that short trip, however try riding one 8 hours a day for a week, ends like one of those horses you sneak up on throw a saddle on it and offer it to somebody ypou have a grudge against. Don't let that comment give you the wrong impression, I like my Goldwing, it just isn't any way near as comfortable for long distance riding as my Venture. Al

I heard they had a line on phonographs, and as soon as they finalize the deal they will release a 3rd gen. everybody keeps pointing out a victory or a voyager as an alternative, but it took me years to get used to cars without a V8. I doubt I will like riding around on a motorcycle with half an engine. I have a Goldwing and love that engine, but the bike is uncomfortable. I am left with no alternative other than ride my Venture for ever, that's do-able. Al

I95 is a very busy road lots of trucks and lots of construction. you might want to take the more inland route. up to Jacksonville to catch 95 then I 95 to to I 26 to I 77 I77 to I 81 I 81 to Binghamton, ny then I 88 to I 87 I 87 to the border at Rouses Point from there you know the way I find this to be a lot easier than the I95 route Although the I95 route looks a few hours shorter there are several cities along that route with bigtime traffic jams that can eat those hours pretty fast. However you go have Rain gear handy a swaeat shirt and your Jacket should be warm enough if you stay dry have a safe trip Al

missed how the top rotor blades get deployed on the gyro copter, somehow they just appeared and then the pylor raised into position. the second one looks to be a better flyer, but on the road it looks huge and blind spot could hide a fleet of trucks. I would like to play with either of them Al

Had Bub pipes on a 200 Royalstar sounded good nice rumble not too loud until you really got on it then it could get loud. Bought the bike with the pipes already on it, personally I wouldn't try to make a bike louder Never was one of the wake Babies and scare little old ladies club Al

back when Star days was in Billings Montana a group of us all in the 50-60 age range Rode from north eastern NY to Billings and we stopped in Sturgis on the way back. Got there a week or two before the start of the Rally. Very pretty country well worth seeing. I usually go to Americade every year and hate the ride through town due to all the stop and go traffic, so I am sure the traffic during Sturgis bike week would spoil some of the fun. If you are into the big bad biker wake babies and scare little old ladies crowd the noise and antics might be fun, just not my idea of fun. By all means take the motorhome as accomodations will be scarce once you get there, otherwise ride there out of season. I have had three bikes that have fixed farings and one handlebar mounted. 2004 Goldwing 1992 venture Royale, and 2007 Venture 2008 FJR, personally I like the handle bar mounted as it leaves better room for my long legs. Personally there seems to be a large blind spot just in front of the bikes with the fixed farings, not a big problem except when trying to get the bikes on a trailer using a plank. Bigger problem is wind noise coming from where the forks go down through the fixed farings. Probably why the Goldwing seems noisier at eightymph than the venture. Noise is worse if the windshield vent is closed. Fixed farings look better, more complete rather than looking like an afterthought Al

that's cruising at over 100mph those guys deserve a big ticket. Most of us push the limits by 10-15mph but when you are running the roads at three digits you are a danger to yourself as well as others Al:bobby:

I have not done it yet but think it is not a bad idea. you would want the center of gravity to be as low as possible, cover the cockpit to reduce windage. I am concerned about the overall length with my oldtown 120 kayak. the kayak could hold a lot of camping gear, certainly as much as some of the smaller trailers. maybe use a whitewater kayak or the little short stubby 8 footers Al

when the bike is warming up feel the cylinders, or of cool enough feel the exhaust pipes odds are something is cooler, indicating a cylinder not firing. raw gas is getting to the hot exhaust pipe and buring off there. Why is your problem to chase usually electrical or valve timming Al
