  1. Love it!!! Very great use of language!!!
  2. I, too, have no problems with anyone's religion but am an atheist. As such, every time there is a mention of an accident, the prayers start. I understand that but it is a bit annoying because maybe we wish to discuss the whys and wherefores of the accident, discuss what could/should/might have been done differently so that we may learn from this accident, etc., etc., etc. Having the thread suddenly filled with prayer requests is upsetting to those of us who don't pray. Most who say, "I don't understand that, why does it upset you?" are religious so of course they don't understand. I do wish prayers were kept to their own section, though. Just my two cents.
  3. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2011models/2011-Victory-VisionTour.htm Wow, that's quite a nice looking bike. Don't think I've seen one yet. It doesn't look as comfortable as the RSV but, obviously, from what you're saying, looks can be deceiving!
  4. A good lesson to all of us to NEVER EVER pass on the right. At least he died doing what he loved. As a police officer, he honestly should have known better, though. I feel very badly for his family, children and friends. So unnecessary.
  5. When they flip up, how do they stay in place? When they are down, can the bike still be driven? I'd love to see some pictures of them down and the mechanism for keeping them up and in place.
  6. Just checking out how to move the trunk. The armrests are not ready yet.
  7. So I went to the site and it says I need a specific adapter for these boards. So I go and look for them on the site and, lo and behold, there are no adapters listed for my bike. LOL I guess I'll probably stick with Diamond. At least then I know they will fit. Or maybe you don't need the adapters for the Kurayakan products? I really don't know. When I talk to someone on the chat, they just regurgitate back to me what's stated on the product page so that doesn't really help. Guess if you don't own a Harley, they don't know too much!! LOL
  8. Well, hopefully someone will buy our bike now that we have bought a Venture!! LOL
  9. Thank you. I just wanted to ask if anyone here knew it for sure. See, I live in Nova Scotia. Things are very expensive to ship here, take forever and, if they don't work or fit, most times, you're stuck with them. So getting the knowledge from another person who knows about these bikes is invaluable for stuff like this.
  10. Yup, it's done!!!! Of course, I forgot to put the rubber part back before I finished but I can redo that later. For now, I'm just so happy it was so easy. This is the kind of advice that is SO helpful here!! Thank you all so much!!!! EDIT: Just went back out, took the trunk off again, put the rubber back in place and put the trunk back on. It's EASY now. Thank you again!!!!!!!
  11. Really? Awesome!! Thank you so much!!! See, if people would just TELL me these things!! LOL I will take a look at it and try that. That DOES make things MUCH easier. Thank you!!!
  12. I know this is an old thread but do these fit the 2006 Yamaha RSV?? :yikes:If so, they might help me a lot. All Kurayakan ever says is what Harley they fit
  13. So which bolts, screws do I need to remove to shift the gas tank? How far does it need to move? The service manual isn't very good at explaining things, I'm finding.
  14. The only concern I have is moving the trunk. These bikes are hard to figure out - for me, anyway. I looked through the service manual and found it basically useless. Exploding diagrams just don't work for me. The nearest Yamaha dealer is over two hours away from here and in the boonies. I don't know how to move the trunk and am reluctant to screw around with it if I might mess it up. It also means taking out the liner, doesn't it, so it'll never look good or stick properly again? I really don't know. This is definitely getting frustrating. Didn't know it was going to be so difficult.
  15. Hm... sounds like most don't think this is good. If it's comfy, though, that's great. We're just over 400 pounds together. I don't know how to adjust everything yet, though, and the service manual is greek to me so going to have to figure stuff out.
  16. @bongobobny: PM sent.
  17. It really depends on where you live, what you're looking for and how comfortable you are with the seller. RSVs sell for at LEAST $10,000 around here, most around $12,000 to $13,000. We just bought our '06 RSV for $11,000. As soon as you hit Quebec or further west, the prices drop to $9,000. Sigh. The bike we bought was well cared for, always stored inside and it was so pretty!! LOL The whine is definitely something to look for. It was horrid on one bike we took out for a test ride. So glad we didn't buy it. So if it's not an impulse buy and you're confident this bike was very well cared for and it won't put you in bankruptcy to buy it, I'd say sleep on it a day or two and see how you feel. If you still feel good about it, then...
  18. Okay. Thank you. Do you mean the manual that comes with the bike? If so, I have that and didn't find it particularly useful. We're also getting the repair manual, which hopefully will have more detail. I'd also like some experienced riders' opinions, too, if possible.
  19. We are brand new to the RSV. We took one out for a test ride at a dealer's and I know it was more cushiony than ours is. Ours is a 2006 RSV. It has the stock seats, which are nice to us (compared to our cruiser Mustang seats, which weren't nearly as nice) but I find the ride a bit rough. On the one we took for a ride, he hit the bumps and I barely felt it in my back. Can someone please tell me how to adjust the air to make the ride softer for the passenger? We are getting the manual but don't have it yet and I have no idea how to read what it's set at, where it should be set, what's better, higher pressure or lower pressure, etc. I want as soft a ride as possible for my back's sake. Hubby and I aren't light so I want to be sure we don't hurt the bike, either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  20. Thank you!! PM sent!!!
  21. Me, too!!!
  22. Ah hah!! Found that hole so now I get it. Thank you!!! I mostly wanted it in case my phone went dead or my iPod ran out of juice. What I got with my other bike, and have moved to this bike, is the attachment for the battery. It's permanently attached and makes it easier to attach the charger when necessary. What I found online also was a cigarette lighter attachment that has the same ends as the battery charger so now I can plug that into the battery attachment, then plug in my car adapter to that and voila, I have power. Haven't had to use it yet but good to know I have it if I need it. (Sometimes my phone stays on) Here's what I have: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MOTORCYCLE-ATV-SNOMOBILE-POWER-OUTLET-ADAPTER-12v-/270798697220?pt=Snowmobile_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0cdc3304
  23. ROFL!!! That's EXACTLY what I did Saturday!! I thought I'd try and see if it'd work so I put both feet up and WOW, WIND!!! It definitely helped and trust me, he didn't mind at all!! LOL Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. ROFL!! I wish!!! I have to sit a bit lower on this bike, too, so I lose a bit more wind. I used to always use a get seat pad but, with this bike, I'm finding it hard on my back so sitting lower and more "into" the seat seems to help a bit. I'm putting the gel seat, folded in half, behind my lower back to see how that works next. I'll figure it out somehow. I have had a bad back since I was 16 and it NEEDS to be supported.
  24. Ah hah! I found another picture. Is this what they're talking about? http://www.bakerbuilt.com/bbairwings/page48aa.html
  25. So there IS a way to have these grips again. We had them on our old bike and Mike loved them. Went to the dealer to get this done and they wouldn't do it because of the weights issue. I'll show him this thread and see what he thinks about it again. Thanks for the info!
