I've heard of that road. I'd love to "do" that some day - with the pegs folded back - as we don't have anything like that around here. It sounds really, really neat!! Nope, I'm sure it's not. Mike just drives very cautiously, kinda slowly and slows for most turns. He also drives an 18 wheeler so he's very aware of how dangerous bikes can be if something gets in your way that you don't expect. When we are out on the bike, it's for fun and leisure, never to get anywhere quickly or even for really long trips. Most of our secondary roads are practically deserted around here so it's wonderful to be out and cruising along enjoying the bike, the scenery, the fresh air and just being on the road -

We never drive fast or on very windy roads. I've never heard the floorboards or highway bars or any pegs scrape on a turn and these are on hinges so will pop back if hit from the front. If we were on a very windy bunch of turns, I'll gladly kick them back in to be sure we're as safe as possible but these are mostly for stretching the legs out for a bit to make sure I don't get cramped up. I'm always very conscious of where we're going and I wouldn't sleep, for example, with them engaged. For those who lean hard on corners or drive faster so you must lean hard on corners, I can completely understand you not wanting anything like this on your bike! -
Absolutely!!! It definitely won't make me upset or not want to come here any more. I just like to add my two cents to discussions (whether people like it or not!! LOL) and voice my opinion. I'm a big proponent of agreeing to disagree. I think it's important, actually. I don't have to agree with you and you don't have to agree with me but we can both agree, for example, that this is a wonderful site and such things definitely don't spoil it for me. Thank you for allowing us to voice our opinions and thank you for leaving this thread here. I think it's a great way to let everyone know how things work here.

For armrests, I ended up purchasing a set from Diamond R because they had one set in stock right now that has already been shipped out to me today!! Larry didn't have any ready for quite awhile and I'm the impatient sort and I want them NOW so that's what I did. I may end up getting a set of Larry's later on and replacing these but who knows? I just know I wanted arm rests for THIS riding season if possible and I found them. Now that I have the pegs, too, I'm in heaven!!!!! -
I found a solution!!!!! http://www.bikerbrackets.com/ckopdesc.htm Including shipping, they're under $80.00 to Nova Scotia, Canada!! Perfect!!!! Yes!!!!! Now I'm all set and happy as a CLAM that I've got my armrests and foot peg problems solved. Now to get them, get them installed and RIDE, RIDE, RIDE!!!! http://www.bikerbrackets.com/images/ckop/peg%20out%20small.jpg

Fair enough. It is your business after all

Thanks everyone!! My local bike shop carries one so I'll be getting one tomorrow!!
-
Thank you very much!! Now I know what to look for!

Can anyone show me or link me to a gauge you're supposed to use to check the air pressure? I have a bicycle pump but there's no gauge on it. It says there's one that came with the tool kit but I don't think we have it. We're not the original owners. Thank you!!!!!

I'll second that. Give it a couple years and I'm sure you'll hear more.

What hassle? It's one form. What estimate? You take it to the post office or weigh it, measure it and look it up online. It's very, very simple these days with computers. There's no estimating required. Yup, always put, in nice large block letters, CANADA on the package and make SURE you have a postal code. If the postal code is correct, it cannot go to the wrong place. I found out a few years ago there's an Ontario in California!! LOL I think that's their main reason. After all, they're making money, why bother with any hassles whatsoever? LOL Could be. I won't use them to cross a border anywhere. Within USA and within Canada, they're fine but once you cross the border, they charge shipping, taxes, customs AND a "BROKERAGE FEE" that is ridiculous. I won't let anyone ship to me that way. Hate to rain on your parade but I've worn sneakers for over 35 years now!! LOL

You're one of the GREAT vendors out there, Larry!!! We Canadians expect to pay more for shipping and I never have a problem paying it. It's pretty obvious when people inflate their shipping costs (which MANY do) and I don't deal with people like that. It's amazing how cheap USPS is, though, compared to Canada Post!!!!
-
Pretty, aren't they? I love that color. That's the main reason we got the one we have
-
I wonder how often that was buyers trying to scam him? I've been buying for years and years from USA via USPS and never ever had even one parcel lost. Held up, yup, but lost? Never.

It really, really, really, REALLY ticks me off when people won't ship to Canada. Heck, I can get stuff from Hong Kong or China and they have NO PROBLEMS shipping to Canada - it's usually FREE. I will never understand how someone can discriminate against us Canadians, who are supposed to be your FRIENDLY NEIGHBORS, and not ship here. And, yes, we do feel discriminated against. I've bought things from the UK, from Australia, from Hong Kong, etc., etc., etc. and it's never been an issue. ALWAYS ship USPS - nothing else. EVER. It takes awhile but it gets here eventually. As soon as I see "No shipping to Canada," I walk away and will NEVER purchase from them again. Try telling someone in the USA you won't ship TO them. They'll have a FIT!! Do you realize how expensive it is to ship things here??? It's way more than it is for you (USA) to ship to us (Canada). Every time I've purchased from USA, I know it's no returns, no refunds (unless defective) and that's just the way it is. If you're willing to take that risk (which I usually am), why should the SELLER care where he/she is shipping it? You go to the post office, you fill out a form and off it goes. I don't see what the big deal is. So, yes, it really, really, really annoys us Canadians when people refuse to ship to us. Heck, they'll ship to California, 4,000 MILES away, but won't ship to Nova Scotia from New York??? It's a LOT closer. I've bought things from all over the USA and never had a problem yet. Nothing's ever gotten lost and, yes, shipping takes longer but we Canadians aren't used to that instant satisfaction you guys in the USA have of overnight shipping. That rarely happens here. It still drives me nuts to see "FREE SHIPPING to everywhere in USA only". Sigh. Oh, well, I'd rather live here and I guess it's the price you pay but when sellers outright refuse to ship to Canada, yes, it really does annoy me. It makes me think they think we are lesser beings or something. I just don't get it.

Of course I am only including myself. I would never presume to speak for anyone other than myself. I have NOTHING against those who pray or those who do not. Maybe offend is the wrong word. Annoy is more appropriate, probably. I won't apologize for giving my opinion.

Ah, perfect!! Thank you for explaining that to me. It's hard to envision things you can't feel, touch, mess around with sometimes. Or maybe I'm just a bit duh!!

LOL!! I just want the bazillion choices that Harley riders seem to have for accessories, clothing, bling, etc., etc. They sure do dominate the biker world out there, it seems to ME anyway, when it comes to stuff like this.

We just got our RSV last weekend and I was getting a tad frustrated at the lack of accessories for the bike compared to others. I searched and searched and searched on here, asked some questions and, lo and behold, I had answers to just about anything and everything I wanted to know!! I'm still a tad frustrated at the lack of accessories for this bike compared to, say, a Harley , which everyone seems to make accessories for, but that's just the way it is and I love our new bike. So This board is wonderful!!!! Thank you to every single one of your for sharing your help, your experiences, your knowledge and your time with me and everyone else!!
