  1. Ahhhh Schofield! Lived there for 6 1/2 years! No place that I know of near there. Going into Waikiki would be a sure bet but maybe the Harley Shop in Waipahu might rent them. It is closer to Schofield. Weather is breaking...I think I can ride later today! :D
  2. ...ridden on TWO weeks!! It's killing me! We've had nothing but rain...and I mean RAIN as in torrential downpours for weeks! I love riding in the rain (yes I'm weird) but DAGGUM! I still have to play it safe®. Well...at least I can go to my favorite MC forum instead. Now I know how you guys that live where it si too cold and snowy to ride feel.
  3. Got a picture of the passing lamps installed on your RSV?
  4. You'll definitely want to fab up plates to go behind the fairing to strengthen the area where they bolt on.
  5. Tim, have you checked to see if Kylon has some FUSION paint that will closely match or compliment your bike? FUSION paint is a paint specifically designed for use on plastic. It is some fantastic stuff!! It would save you a bundle. Personally, I built my own enclosure. Not the prettiest but it fit my design criteria for what I typically carry. I've since painted it completely. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15552
  6. Driving lights provide more light up front depending on the type and wattage of bulb used. The orange ones are your blinkers and do a lot...like signal to others your intentions.
  7. I don't think you played with it enough. There are two different adjustments. You can really limit the travel on the pedal as well as the plunger to the MC it actuates. I think I'll make a video about it to help explain it in more detail. Maybe you should make a video of this --> "I can assure you with both the Butler mod and TCB in place together.....and my heel planted on the floor board, I can slide Crickett across the parking lot."
  8. The internet is a dangerous place... the old adage of "buyer beware" also stands true here. "READER beware!" The quote is such BS that it should be removed...
  9. If the buyer pays shipping why would you limit it to Continental US only??
  10. In my experience, the angle of the pedal has a profound effect on the leverage provided by your foot. I lowered mine considerably to reduce the tendency to lock. Another thing is how to position your foot. In a panic stop (I practice them A LOT) where folks lock their rear wheel, I believe they must lift their heel off the floorboard when coming to a stop. This is will surely cause the rear brake to lock. With my pedal lowered and making sure my heel supports the weight of my body, I cannot lock the rear brake no matter how hard I try (without lifting my heel). I can slide (locked) my front wheel for about 4 inches from 60mph and my rear wheel never locks. I suppose it is technique. Remember, your heel supports your weight.
  11. I completely removed the stock headlight and replaced it with a jeweled headlight from an 03 Suzuki SV1000. I then put in a "performance" bulb. The light output and spread is MUCH better! 'Course, I don't expect you do follow suit with the same lenses assy. I had one left-over after I put on dual headlights on my old SV1000. However, the best lighting mod I did was to put in 37.5W spot beams in the passing/fog lamps. They are clear lenses (not prismed). They point right where my head lamp does and make a nice swath of light right where I want/need it. There's so much light that I think I've witnessed plants grow when in the beam(s)....ya know...with all that photosynthesis goin' on an' all...
  12. Dunno. I do all my own maintenance.
  13. More critical than the oil is to verify torque on key nuts and bolts. Axles, brakes, steering stem, grips, levers, body parts, etc. etc. That's probably the most important part about any initial service.
  14. It will...just as soon as as many MC trailers are manufactured and sold as travel trailers. It's that supply and demand thing.
  15. What problems are you having that you feel you need to "clean out the carbs"?
  16. Not if it was fried by reversing the wires from the charger.
  17. Now that sure looks legit.
  18. You'd actually pay 1500 dollars (Deutsche Mark?) for 20 HP? Open things up and those 20HP are gonna be in the upper rev range. Why bother? It'd be cheaper to re-gear it (V-max gear) and probably more effective.
  19. The lowers are like, what, 2-3 bolts each side?? Maybe you can take a break between removing each bolt.
  20. What bike are you talking about?
  21. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery and much luck in finding parts cheap to get your bike back 100%. ``````````````````````````` Now for the rest of you. Just don't use the freakin' rear brake! Your desires to modify it, change it or whatever is more dangerous. Just don't use the thing if you can't prevent it from locking up...
  22. I like cookies.
  23. Wait, wait, wait...you mean to tell us that you were riding around with 7PSI in your front tire and you lived to tell us about it!? Ever seen one of these things? http://www.automotive-technology.com/contractor_images/jin-dai/5-D-JD-3212.jpg :hihi::hihi:
  24. I like the level look of the RSV with the links in the back. I raises it about an inch and provides for additional ground clearance when two-up. Great option if you have new tires or if you don't want to put a tire on that is designed for a smaller width rim.
