  1. Thanks for asking. I would like to make sure I get the right one.
  2. Which battery do we use for the Venture, the 680?
  3. Don, have you rigged up some leads coming out from under your seat, or do you remove the seat every time you want to hook up the charger?
  4. The information I received about the program is that if you break down, they will arrange to have your bike delivered to the nearest dealer for repair. But.....they only cover the first $50 of the tow charge. If it's more than that, you cover the rest. They will also cover $100 per day for 5 days expenses if you are more than 100 miles from home.
  5. But do we know why it went dead?
  6. Absolutely NOTHING on my bike works at 24 degrees.!!
  7. Did you say you were riding when it was 24 degrees outside? Fahrenheit?!!?!?!
  8. I too just installed a Garmin 550. Marvelous gadget. I was surprised that it even picks up the GPS satellites while I'm in the house!. On a recent trip I trusted it to take me on a route that I never tried before. It proved reliable. As far as integrating other audio sources, I would like to see some pictures of what BEER30 did for his. Would make his explanation easier to follow.
  9. Edsets proved very good in audio reponse. I did have to turn down the treble and turn up the bass for good music reproduction - they seem to favor the treble side. Use of heasets for the intercom was very good. The mocrophone tends to pick up "air" (background) noise at highway speeds (>60 mph), but is very efficient at low speeds at cancelling noice. (I will be installing "Mic-Mutes"). Installation was pretty simple because Edsets use industrial strength hook-n-loop fasteners to mount the mike instead of clamps. And you have a little latittude in routing the wires for the speakers. Bottom line: as an alternative to the more expensive sets on the market, Edsets are a very good value.
  10. Good info. Straight forward. Logical. Honest. Thanks, Tartan Terror.
  11. I bought one of Carbon One's Freestanding adaptors, and am very pleased with it. Setting the bike down on the adaptor's legs makes the bike very stable, and allows you to get the lift out of the way. I recommend you spring a little more cash and get the Freestanding unit.
  12. Can that Nautilus horn fit out of sight in the space by the swingarm where the Rivco air horn compressor fits?
  13. I agree with the customer service. I just received 2 Edsets, but have not had a chance to install them yet. Ordering form Ed was a pleasant experience. It's always nice when you get to talk to the owner, and don't get a run-around, or a recorded voice that says "For English, press 1....". I will post later with an evaluation after I have had a chance to try them out.
  14. My wife and I each have one and love 'em. They are comfortable. I wear mine with the visor, she uses the silver reflective face shield. A drawback to this style helmet is that you are limited to either the visor or face shield provided by HJC. My wife has used in the past a face shield made for snow mobiles. It had a double pane that prevented fogging on those cold rides. I think she's gonna miss that type of shield.
