  1. Thoughts and prayers out to you Pucmeister!
  2. Actually, they do come apart pretty easy as I have disassembled mine at put it back together after I discovered the crack. Either way I'll take a complete unit if I can find one. Quick search on Ebay this morning yeilded nothing. If anyone gets a line on one or has one let me know.
  3. So the other day I look down and instead of seeing the normal display on the CLASS control, there is just a big black blotch emanating from the readout. Closer inspection shows that the little LCD screen within the unit is cracked. The control still functions properly but I can't tell what the pressure is. Does anyone have at least an LCD or whole unit that I could get my hands on? I don't think it needs to be functional as long as the screen is good I can just swap it out with my control. Thanks for any help guys (and girls). StanG
  4. Pbjman... I recognize that spot. It's about a mile and half from my house. It's known as "4 mile". It's a nice little place to take a break and gaze out onto Lake Huron. If I hadn't have been at work, you may spotted my 1st gen as well. ... and you're right... that's a nice looking RSV!

Puc, From a fellow 1st gen rider, wishing you well for a speedy recovery. Looking forward to meeting you someday. I found out last year at the Midnight Ride that I had missed you in Alma. Maybe this year!!! stanG
  6. Michelin Commander II rear, Dunlop 404 on the front. When the front goes I will probably replace with a Michelin. Real happy with the Commander II on the back. 5K and still looks like new.
  7. I have noticed that when the bike is off the stand the level is lower than on the stand due the angle from the rear tire being off the ground. I fill to the top of the sight glass when on the stand. I checked the level again with the bike off the stand while someone was holding the bike upright and it was about halfway up the glass.
  8. Here is what i did a few years ago. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?68869-Fuseblock-Upgrade-Revisited If you plan on more accessories you may want a block with more fuses
  9. I remember back 33 years ago when my wife and I had our wedding shower... Some wise shower-goer actually brought a fishin' pole for the groom!!! I felt so appreciated! LOL
  10. I'm in the Port Sanilac area. Have the bike put away for this winter but let me know in the spring if you're passing thru. I would like to tag along sometime if ya don't mind. "Have fun out there" stanG

So...... Is this what you would call a "second gen"? Seems perfectly fine to me, however, when it comes to the bike itself, I'll stick to the "first gen"
  12. My sincere condolences Puc. Been there, done that.
  13. Here is what I did a couple years back http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68869 "Have fun out there" stanG
  14. Nice vid. I see you spent some time on H58 between Grand Marais and Munising. That's a great little piece of road, not to mention the whole west part of the UP. Spent some time riding up there in August.
  15. I gotta say that is probably the best looking second gen I've ever seen. "Have fun out there" stanG
  16. Great Video!
  17. Yeah, I bought one of these at the local NAPA store back in July. I was skeptical about whether it would actually start my car and had originally bought it to use to run my CPAP while camping (it will power the unit for 8 hours of good sleep). As it turned out, I had left the door open on my car in the garage for the whole weekend and drained the battery dead. It wouldn't even light up the dash when i turned the key. I hooked this thing up and the car started just fine. It even had to crank it for a while because the computer had reset itself from the power drain. If I hadn't seen it with my own own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. A little pricey, but worth it!
  18. I am using GoDaddy for domain registration hosting and email for our radio station. I am using the Joomla interface built in to the GoDaddy hosting and purchased an inexpensive template that I modified to suit our needs. It has been trouble free. "Have fun out there" stanG
  19. Keep an eye out for me Randy. I'll be on a blonde 1st gen.
  20. Cheeseburger is a great time! You will enjoy.
  21. I'm doing the midnight ride. Jumping on in Alma.
  22. Just throwing this out there... Any members partaking in the Midnight Ride that leaves from Rockford, MI and goes to the Mackinac Bridge this Friday the 15th? I have a group that's jumping on in Alma, MI
  23. Hasn't yet. Not sure about long term effects though.
  24. This happens every once in a while to me. Usually about every 10,000 miles or so. What I do is remove the air box then disconnect the fuel line to suspected carb, plug the hose and run the bike. Then I put a short piece of fuel line on the suspect carb and spray carb cleaner directly into it while it is running. Reassemble and follow up with a half can of sea foam in the tank and it is usually good to go for another 10k.
  25. Well this should satisfy those who had been asking for some photos! I think the bar has been raised for video on this forum no doubt. Slick graphics, Nice zooms and pans, good composition, killer drone, Whoa! The Puckster is going to have to up his game now! Puc does however have the commentary category covered. From the east side of the mitten.
