1. No way anyone would guess that bike is 14 years old. You did a great job
2. That's why they call em Gremlins. It's an evil force acting against you:bang head:
3. My Buddy has a RSTD with 60k on it and he consistently tears me up on mileage. If I get 42 he gets 45 on the same trip, same roads, same gas, and generally same riding style. The only difference I know of is he had his carbs rebuilt. 35mpg is unacceptable on this bike. I have a 2000 RSV and even with 2up riding and full luggage at 75+mph I can get 38-39, solo is 42 all day long, every day.
4. For a second there I thought I wasn't alone turning the big 40 this year. With any luck I'll reach 40k on my RSV this year also and that would be an awesome 40th year of my life:fingers-crossed-emo I'm loving every mile!!! I hope you have many more miles in you and your bike
5. the Victory is definitely not a fifties style engine and the CCT has everything a touring rider and passenger could want. It is the benchmark right now IMHO
6. Gonna be a long night. Take all precautions please
7. Yamaha does not intentionally put themselves out of any profitable market. Rest assured if they discontinued the second gen a new touring model is ready for production. I don't know if a 2014 is in the works but they won't be missing out on the touring demographic for long. To me this is good news knowing a new model is inevitable. If I am not mistaken the complete new model year is not announced until Sept-Oct and the dealers I've talked to say that Yamaha is very tight lipped on releases. They find out pretty much when we do.
8. A very bad storm cell is over Freebird (Dons) place right now. Lets pray they are safe
9. Fell asleep in my chair. Suddenly woke up and knew I had to get moving. Must have been the Blantons Bourbon it has the same affect on me
10. Same here. Got home around 8pm.. Thanks to Don and his lovley wife for their hospitality and everyone that made us feel like part of the family. Great time:thumbsup2::thumbsup2:

12. That is an awesome trip:thumbsup2:. We did it two years ago and had a blast. I watch the videos over and over. This is "Beartooth Pass" in August.
13. Thanks for the update:thumbsup2: My buddy has one and he is just loving it also. Definitely a contender for the next ride.
14. Just leave it as is and see which one goes first:rotf:
15. I have the Frogg Toggs for me and the wife that are made for motorcycling. We have the neon green with the reflective piping. I have never gotten wet and I have ridden through a few Duck Drowners. I find them to be very functional and they don't take up much room, plus the safety colors can get you noticed in low visibility situations.
16. Both loyal companions
17. Bright red motorcycle cover that says "DANGER RADIOACTIVE MEDICAL WASTE" all over it. If the thief can't read you are screwed. You could try a camo cover and park in the bushes. Good luck
18. Awesome trip!! Be safe and take lots of pics please.
19. We had a great ride yesterday. Four of us Buckeyes left Chilicothe at 6am in the rain and arrived in Baurborsville WV at 8am to meet my brother, his wife, and an old friend for breakfast. The weather cleared as we ate and we headed SW through Ft. Gay WV into Louisa KY from there rt 32 toward Grayson Ky where we ate a late lunch at Mellini, a great Italian joint. It was about 360mile loop for the OH group and most of the weather and roads were great. Can you guess which two are brothers??
20. I think it looks good!! I've been thinking of getting some chrome or stainless mesh and making one. Don't pay Miles any mind. Every time he gets something nice somebody shoots it or backs over it :rotf:
21. I need directions to Iceland. I have a Red 2000 model I can part with for the right price and as it turns out $15,700.00 is the exact right price:mo money: I love hearing of good deals and a nice profit:thumbsup2: excellent job!!
22. I am actually planning to take that route after the IR.. So we will need a full report. Places to stay, eat, camp, and points of interest. Please take lots of pics and debrief us upon your return. Have a safe trip I've heard it's beautiful up there.
