Replacment Headlight
Wade 2000 replied to dkrejcarek's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Check "Pinwall" for a salvage part. Might save you a bundle:mo money: -
How about a Victory? My friend just bought one last week in White. I guess they only offered White in 2012 but there are still a few leftovers in dealers. IMHO this is the best new Motorcycle on the market. If you like White the Pearl on this bike is sweet.

I'm not sure of the sticker price as it was a 2012 but I know he was hung up on getting White and it was only offered that year. He bought it off of EBay. He had tried to make a deal with them directly but he couldn't get his price. He was under $20k no prep no destination charges were added to that and still got the $500 accessories. As to why January? He rides all year and has sold his 2 other bikes, so he's got a bad itch especially since we've had a lot of decent weather this year.

Coldwater MI today at 9am 6deg and sunny I hope you are enjoying warmer temps and good luck with your move! The only warm spot was my buddy's cheese eatn grin. It came with the new bike.

It was whispering, kissing on my neck, telling me I'm special, and fittin like a glove. The wife just doesn't understand. You need to ride it, very nimble. I really want to see yamaha update the Venture but if not in the next year or so I'll be on a CCT wife in agreement or not. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission! Right?

Took a trip up to Coldwater Michigan this morning to pick up a brand spanky new 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour at Planet Motorsports. I was just tagging along for moral support I guess. 600 mile round trip and I still was home by 4pm. I tell you what this bike is a beauty, Pearl White just pops in the sun. He bought some extra safety chrome, and they covered $500 of accessories. Not to shabby. Sales guy was tryn hard to sell me and if my $ situation was a little different I might have posted a pic of a nice Pearl Blue one.

Principal Anderson from Billy Madison. Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Well put! Lane splitting is not something I practice but where legal and expected by motorists, why not if you're comfortable doing it.

I would be in agreement in most cities. But in gridlock traffic such as in California, New York, Chicago I can see the practice being employed if done as the CHP directed, under 30mph, always being aware of the cage dwellers. As riders we are more alert to our surroundings, we can't be distracted talking on the phone, texting, eating, making out with girlfriends, and I've yet to see a child's car seat on a MC. I think we should take advantage of all the benefits that the smaller size vehicle affords. We already get the best parking spots:whistling:

Hoping for a safe return:thumbsup2:

Well I'm headn up your way to Coldwater MI Thursday with my buddy to pick up his new Victory CCT. I'll send you a weather report from home

I guess that's where the disclaimer "Not DOT Approved"comes into play:cop:
-
Thanks! They have both tail lens and signals in smoke. Order up!
-
That's the question I asked myself right after my response. That said I wouldn't spend the extra$$ on it unless like I said in a high performance setup or a race situation where heat is an issue. My Venture hardly ever gets hot enough for the fan to kick on even 2up with all our luggage.
-
I've used it in a Yamaha Grizzly. I did quite a few performance upgrades, bored, head ported, high comp piston. So I was worried about heat. With the Engine Ice I never had an issue, it always ran cool. There is one thing I recall. You must have all coolant flushed out or it reacts with the EI and will crystallize. Mine was a fresh rebuild so no issues

I'm not looking to black them out just a little tint. I think the 100 LED tail light board and the Dynamic Clusters would still be way brighter than the stock bulbs and lenses even with a little tint
-
I saw that posted yesterday it's beauty. If I only had $30000.00 sittn around I'd throw it that way:mo money:
-
I was looking on Custom Dynamics so now I'm thinking about some LEDs for the taillight and signals. I would like to change the lenses to the smoked ones, turn and tail lenses but I can only find the clear. Has anyone found them all in smoked or tried that spray on tint?

I agree the CCT is a great ride. A friend and I demoed it last summer and if I wasn't knee deep in home improvements it'd be parked in the garage. My buddy however just made a deal on one up in MI and we're gonna go pick it up Thursday. 2012 Pearl White He's coming off of a BMW 1200cl and Kaw Z1000 both sold. Maybe I'll get to ride it:fingers-crossed-emo

Leveling Links on Pinwall?
Wade 2000 replied to Wade 2000's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks for the keen eye! I think probably he lowered it just a skoche. Oh well I thought that might be a cheap way to get some leveling links and I met Ponch and LilBit in Cody WY I just happened to be gettn to town when everyone else was pullin out of the Rally. Anyway at breakfast Ponch gave me his card and told me to check out this site and when I finally did I read about his accident. What a shock! It would have been neat to have something he made on my bike -
Leveling Links on Pinwall?
Wade 2000 replied to Wade 2000's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That was my thought also that he was a little short to have put the links on but it also occurred to me that he could have made his own lowering kit? Either way the links pictured seem to be homemade -
I think the Vrod motor if they could get their faithful behind it gives them alot more room for hp upgrades. The Road Glide has a distinct style and has a following. If yamaha doesn't do something soon I'd definitely consider a liquid cooled HD or The Victory Cross Country Tour. I like the Honda goldwing but I'm a little tall for the foot position. It has plenty of power and outstanding handling but just couldn't ride it all day. I do love my Venture but by God we are ready for an updated version
