1. I read it ALL also. A lot of info but I was really considering Darksiding and that kinda lays every argument for and against out there with real scientific And physiological facts, not just "my experience" or " I know a guy". Make your own educated decision.
2. I agree with almost everything you said except I felt the GW was lower slung than the RSV?? But power and handling no doubt go to the wing. You should though give the Victory CCT a hard look and ride. I really believe it has the best qualities of both the RSV and GW and still made in the USA
3. Ok I'm not a Physicist but the section "friction is independent of contact area" would disprove what is commonly thought on contact area and the adhesion properties would have much more impact on braking. Such as softer or harder compounds. That is if I'm reading correctly
4. If I understand the friction part of the report that can't be right?? Really not trying to start anything I am just interested in information
5. Oh yea! Had it stored in my buddies barn and as I was backing it out, stepped in a hole and over it went, only over to the crash bars. I picked it straight up no prob, not nearly as bad as I thought it would be..... Is my face red??
6. I kinda misspoke when I said "My" mech he is the mech at the store where I get parts on occasion. I do almost all my own maintenance the only time I will hire out is if time is an issue. I plan to do the valves this summer once my garage is finished (still building). I read the write up in the tech section doesn't sound too bad, but I still am gonna pick everyone's brain at MD. You can't never have too much info.
7. I've read a lot of the Darksiders threads and posts and have seen quite a few on the trail. Is there any other benefit other than longer wear??
8. I had never thought of putting a note out on the porch but I have everything else (substitute size 14 for 12 boots) :whistling:anyone else hear banjos??
9. Wow! I should have paid more attention in school. Went cross eyed about halfway through. That really shows the engineering and science behind the CT and MT designs. I'm not sure it will change any darksiders back but I'm definitely staying with the MT as its designed specifically for that application
10. That's like an Ohioan not liking squirrel. Just seems unnatural as for me I could eat my weight in those Atlantic cockroaches
11. Yep if you can make it I guess there's no excuse for me missing it. Probably a 3 hr. ride
12. I'll do it for 8 cases and that's a savings of 33%
13. I could never wait that long. I always tend to probably overdo the maintainance. I only have around 28,000 on my RSV. I am gonna try to make Freebirds MD and get some pointers. That is though an actual quote from a Yamaha Mech
14. Ok I think I got it! The bike is twice as big as your cruisers and holds a lot more so to go along with the wine making hows about "MAGNUM" it'll fit on a license plate
15. How did you come up with your user name?? Are you from further southeast?? Thinking like "Mudbug" "Swampthing" "Electrabugaloo" "Cajon Queen" "Phazer" "SilverFrog" or just some old girlfriends name. Make for sure your wife doesn't know about her.
16. My mechanic in Lancaster OH says not to adjust valves till the valve cover gaskets need replaced. So I'd say for sure get them checked and adjusted. I'd say get the boots and go to the maintainance day and learn how to do the valve adjust. Learn and save:mo money:
17. I put Samson's on mine and they are a straight through pipe plus added K&N filters with no jetting mods.
18. Welcome! My spouse was vehemently opposed to getting the Venture but since getting it we have gone on some epic adventures and she is so comfortable we can do 800-900 miles a day no problem and as mentioned she will fall asleep on the back. It's better than a vacation home. Great people here! A rare group
19. Glad you are home and safe! That's some real Wild West experience! I can't wait to read your book and shake your hand. Hope to see you at the International
20. Life has many phases. growing up "Phase 1" gettn married and raising kids "Phase 2" then enjoying taking it a little slower spending time doing things you enjoy. So my suggestion for a name is "Phase 3" or "3 Phase" that's my $.02.
21. I received that one also. Being a Contractor I was tempted to open it but my intuition won out. I figured if a client had a problem with me I'd already know about it. There is something to be said for having good business practices:fatsmiley:
22. The wife named it "Scarlet" she says its my mistress? If Scarlet is my mistress then the wife enjoys a threesome! We are Buckeyes and the whole Scarlet and Gray thing. Get it? Red bike?
23. I go fishing to relax. No Thanks!:
24. . You win!! 1st Prize!! Looking good:banana:
25. To me I just can't see giving premium dollars toward a new bike with carbs and a cassette deck. The Victory CCT is heads and shoulders above Harley and Yamaha in the Tech department. Made in the USA also just like those other guys but still won't get lost in the parking lot. Check it out you won't be disappointed
