1. I hope you have a quick recovery:thumbsup2: My father and a guy I ride with had theirs done last year. They had great results the guy I ride with had a first gen, sold it because he thought it'd be a while before he could ride. He was riding a goldwing 3 months later. Dads was a little longer as he was born without a hip socket on his right side so it was fused back in '78 so his left hip has been overcompensating for a while. Needless to say with no good hip his recovery was slowed but he is better now than he has been in years. They can do wonderful things nowadays. Hope to see you on the trail real soon:Venture:
2. My friend with the TD says my seat crowds him forward also. He is about 6'3" and a big boy. For me I feel that the TD sits lower?? I am 6' and 220 with 32" leg room and I definitely prefer the RSV seat. My buddy also always uses a Wooly Pad and I ride on the stock seat.
3. Venture seat. . Maybe not as far off as I remember. As long as you are sittn on it maybe just cut off the mounting tabs??
4. Maybe this will help. This is the bottom of a TD seat.
5. The Venture has a plastic tab in the rear and two threaded posts in front to secure it. The RSTD I believe has two slotted tabs that bolt in from each side. I matched my seat up with a friends RSTD and it wasn't very close. Surprised me
6. They mount differently
7. Will you be able to get a title?? And welcome to VR, as mentioned the $12 pays for itself many times over
8. Congrats on the new ride:thumbsup2: If I ever bought a Harley the Road Glide Ultra is what I'd be looking at.. HEY NO PICS!!
9. I have a set of Harley bag liners that a friend of mine gave me. I don't know who manufactures them but they are great for the overnights. Only problem is they leak a little:rotf:
10. I like it:thumbsup2:.... Everyone's a critic, but I think it looks very sporty and tasteful. You can trust my opinion because I'm from Pumpkin country and am authorized to judge such things.
11. You still have tapes??
12. It will be great to meet you at MD and see you again at the IR. Sounds like you have a great summer planned!! I hope the rest of us can keep up. Hope you have a safe trip across the pond!!
13. Intercom..... Just describe to her what you are seeing:whistling:
14. Maybe some more mid- model year releases coming?? Maybe some kinda touring bike??
15. We may be in real trouble!!:rotf:
16. As mentioned by Miles the Buffalo Bill Cody museum in Cody WY is awesome but it is actually 5 museums under one roof. As he mentioned the Firearms, but there is also a Natural History part with some of the finest taxidermy I've seen, the Wild West Show has a section, Plains Indians, Western Art museum. Now each of these sections are full size museums, that's why the pass is good for two days.
17. From MT into Yellowstone definitely go over Beartooth Pass. You do know that you will have to do this trip again on the bike
18. That sailor is a humanitarian!! A hero I say!!
19. Fairly newer to VR so I didn't know to RSVP but I figured it out. Thanks for getting the party together!! Can't wait
20. I have read all the arguments for and against and my conclusion is that every argument against could also be made against riding Motorcycles in general, and those for also. The vidioes of bikes wrecking can be found of bikers doing everything right or of inexperienced or stupid riders taking dumb chances. All things considered. Do what you are comfortable with, do what's legal, and ride on.
21. Good Call!! You can't have too much training. I also agree that you should take plenty of seat time on the Venture before adding a passenger. All the bikes I owned before this one have been relatively small in comparison. I believe it was 3 or 4 months before the wife climbed aboard. My wife is gonna take the Ohio Riders Course this spring and is looking for a bike of her own. Has your wife thought of taking the course?? Not just for those who want their own bike but as mentioned in other posts, a good passenger can lend a lot to safety. Good Luck! And keep us posted
22. I have a friend with a RSTD and he's been considering a fairing. He already has the full size light bar/ passing lamps. I wonder if some kinda spacer could bring them out far enough to clear the fairing??
23. That's kinda funny you say that as I filled in a 20x40' in ground pool and built the garage
24. Need no. Want yes! Big Tom needs one! Lets get an order in pronto!
