  1. Hwy 136 west of I-75. One of the finest roads east of the Mississippi. Except for 1 or 2 in Indiana, a couple in Kentucky, two or three in Tennessee, several in the Carolina's, well Hwy 136, one of the finest country roads east of the Mississippi.
  2. well, I discovered that if I tell the 2350 to avoid everything, it trys to avoid xway's. That helps.
  3. Another drop for the bucket. Maybe this will all pass - - soon!
  4. I got a 350 and a 2850 garmin. Both say they can avoid major highways. Unfortunately - they can't.
  5. I'm starting to want a new GPS. Has anyone seen one that will avoid expressways? Try plotting a route from Atlanta to Natches Ms and stay off the big road. X'way is the shortest, fastest way, but I don't want to go that way. Don't want to program 42 waypoints. The biggest problem is I don't know the words to look for in specs.
  6. I can forgo a lot if I get to keep the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  7. Yep, the pins show, but I'm still not listed. Maybe it's got something to do with my subscription runs out in two weeks.
  8. Yep, pins are there now. But I'm still unauthorized (not unusual).
  9. When I click on the map, I get a empty one. But worse, I'm not on the user's list.
  10. tried to search for it - got this
  11. I've pulled a loaded (4-500 lb) Aluma trailer all over the southeast. Going, the bike's a little slower and a fuel mileage suffers. Stopping, I can tell it's there. In sand, - - don't go there. After about 5,000 miles, I had to install Skydoc's clutch spring.
  12. The finger of a nitrile glove got rid of all of her noise. She still has to talk a little louder at speed, but that's because of the wind noise in my helmet. And here's one. I can hear her better without my hearing aids than with. The aid's go to clipping.
  13. I hadn't thought of tape on the outside. Will give it a shot.
  14. The aeromike has one hole in the back (pressure relief) and 12 in the front. I've tried facing it up, down, front, back. The only place I haven't tried is the back of the helmet (boom not long enough).
  15. Wife's mike works great below 50mph. Above that, the wind/motor noise gets too loud for her voice to overcome. Would a layer of electric tape over the mike help. Already using the foam cover. She wears a flip- up helmet, and rides a V-Strom. Mike location doesn't seem to matter. Up high or in front of her mouth, the noise effect is the same. Told her to yell at me, but she seems to think that would put her doing it all the time.
  16. Miles - how did you do? http://www.wsbtv.com/gallery/entertainment/microcar-sells-322000/g74j/#3128482
  17. When we went down 2 years ago we camped at Long Key State Park. Distance from tent to Atlantic Ocean - - - 6 feet.
  18. The wife and both ride 650 V-Strom's. I've got a Venture in the shop for longer trips.
  19. Settled on 32 lbs. They came from the factory at 38. They sticker said 35 and when I dropped to that, I picked up 1/2 inch of contact patch. Another 3 lb drop didn't improve the patch but improved stability. Think I'll stay at 32. thanks for the help
  20. thanks Arm. That fellow may have eaten too much baloney for lunch, but his system makes sense to me.
  21. So as the wife was driving out of the garage this morning, I noticed the edges of the tires weren't wet (it was raining). the jeep has been riding a little rough since they were were installed. The door sticker calls for 35 lbs and they read 38 lbs. I don't think 3 lbs would do it, and it's not hard to check, but I'm just wondering if the door sticker might be a guideline and correct pressure will vary from tire to tire depending on sidewall stiffness and seven other things. Anyone got any thoughts on tire contact patch??
  22. The Mayan calendar was fashioned after a Oreo cookie. I've got the other half.
  23. These bikes aren't rocket science. go to wally world and give 3-4 dollars. Any over 5 is a waste. And at these prices if you don't already have one, get two. I've got a $400 fluke and a $3 Harbot Freight. Can't tell a licks worth of difference for home or auto shop use.
  24. Way back in the third post of this thread. What's a "cam type Allen Wrench"? Is that another way of saying "Ball Head"?
  25. When I order a new car/truck or in this case Jeep, when does the dealer get factory credit for it. When I place the order or when he delivers it. Might help to know this to help with bargaining price.
