  1. Victoria Stafford, better known as Tori, was last seen leaving Oliver Stephens School on Wednesday April, 08, where she is a Grade 3 student. Her parents reported her missing at around 6 p.m. that night. The family of missing eight year old Tori Stafford are planning a charity motorcycle ride to raise funds for psychiatrists and psychologists. 'Tori's Ride Home' is planned for May 2 leaving the Zellers parking lot in Woodstock and ending at Southend Appliances with registration starting at 11:30. I believe that if you're not heading to Bob's M&E and are close enough to participate and show your support, you should. This family has been severely traumatized by the abduction of their girl.
  2. GeorgeS is right. The header pipe is a couple of bolts. The pain in the a$$ part is loosening of the thermostat housing to get that extra wiggle room so the starter will drop out. You may want to order a gasket for that in case it won't move and you have to scrape it off.
  3. I'm not experienced in this kind of stuff but if you have their home number wouldn't it make sense to notify your insurance broker regarding the incident and be sure to quote the police report number.
  4. My '85 Royale.
  5. Christo, If getting there is half the trip then you may have a nice ride by staying on Canada side and doing Hiway #3 just outside of Windsor, ON. You can follow that all the way into Fort Erie and then take the Niagara Parkway from Fort Erie up to Niagara Falls and the edge of the Horseshoe Falls. Highway #3 has you traveling through some small towns like Delhi (the heart of tobacco country), St. Thomas, home of Canada's first woman's college. Built to teach women how to be ladies (designated heritage site and slated to be converted into condos before it burned down 1 month ago), Cayuga, home of Toronto Motorsports Park and the Cayuga Motor Speedway. Port Colborne, the town located at the Lake Erie opening of the famous Welland Canal. And of course, so much more. It would be approx. 5-6 hrs from Windsor to Fort Erie, depending on stops. Just a thought since I know when I ride, If I have the time I prefer to stay OFF the expressways. Call me when you get here, and I'll take you for a spin around wine country. I live in St. Catharines and I would be happy to show you some nice rides. Midicat
  6. I just got back from Carquest where I purchased Seafoam for $9.35/can. They've got me by the short and curlys. You wanna play, you gotta pay.
  7. "EVERYONE ASKS WHERE DID YOU GET THAT CAR?!!! KIDS & ADULTS GO WILD. THE MOST UNIQUE DODGE INTREPID ON THE ROAD!!!" LOLOLOLOLOL it's a Dodge Intrepid! LOLOLOLOLOL Wait! Wait! I've got a Chevy Vega! Maybe I should post it. I know my daughter has painted flames on the side of it. LOLOL Maybe I can get "big money" for it.
  8. Or, you could keep an eye on these. http://cgi.ebay.ca/1986-1991-YAMAHA-VENTURE-EXHAUST-H-PIPE-COLLECTOR-NICE_W0QQitemZ260264584819QQihZ016QQcategoryZ34284QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Here are the shots you need. I remember thinking like you, that I wish someone would take a photo for me. So, I'm paying it forward.
  10. I'm with Jevco through Dalton Timmis in Burlington. I pay $700/year on a '85 VR to have one million liability and no collision. If I brake it, I still own the pieces. I can't speak for anyone else here about income, but on a personal note, I make ALOT of money delivering newspapers. I do better after collection day.
  11. I received my brace today. I popped off the old brace and set the new one in place...or at least tried to. I promptly came here to look up the forum for ideas on how to address this, since I figured that I probably wasn't the only one with a small install issue. After reading the above I decided I would give it a go in a different direction. Here's what I did. For those of you who prefer NOT to loosen every bolt in the front end so this brace "falls" into place, may I suggest taking out your Dremel or other high speed rotary tool and using the sanding drum with course sand paper to gently remove the 1000th of an inch of product required to make this brace fit. Remove the aluminum from the inside of the arc that wraps around each fork. It worked for me. BIG THANKS TO CONDOR FOR PUTTING THIS BUY TOGETHER! Thomas
  12. Hey Brian, I'm in. I'll see you at Smithville Tim Hortons at 11:00am tomorrow.
  13. Living in Niagara and 15 minutes from the border, I can tell you that I have to agree with sarges46. We cross over into NYS often and we have the hardest time getting back into our own country. So, you may experience more difficulty getting back home rather than getting over here. We always welcome our U.S. visitors. "Citizenship?" "Where you going?" "Have a good day!" Your own government will be asking all the questions when you return. "Citizenship?" "Where you been?" "How long away?" "Buy anything?" "Value?" "Pull over to the left, please"
  14. You better add me to the list for my '85. Am I the first Canadian on board? Midicat
  15. Does anybody else remember the first time they tried a strap-on? :rotf::rotf:
  16. George, Where did you get the replacement belts?
  17. I've sent it to a friend with a dog that looks just like this one. I attached the following note: We have your dog! Click the link to see that he is safe & alive...for now. You will log into your Paypal account and send $10,000 to us at 'cash@freepuppy.com'. LOL
  18. Hi Z, I'm not an expert here but I can certainly share my experiences. As far as haze on engine metal, I stripped the plastic coating off with a metal stripping spray. In the US I believe it's called "Aircraft Remover". It strips primer and finishes from metal. Then take a good metal polish and buff with a Mother's Powerball. That aluminum comes up looking like chrome. A good maintenance habit has always been using Pledge furniture polish on all plastic (especially forward facing parts) to keep the dust off and the shine on. Bugs are easier to remove when you protect the front with Pledge. That's all Ive got. I'm sure others will fill in some more for you.
  19. Cowpuc, I really like the placement and the look of your setup. Can you tell me where you got the mounting bar for those lights?
  20. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL HERE AT VENTURE RIDER! i WOULD LOVE A HIGHWAY WITH HEATED LANES SO WE COULD RIDE YEAR ROUND IN ONTARIO! JUST A DREAM.
  21. We purchased a new house in September, so I think a few new interior doors will be a great gift to myself. The house is 44 yrs old and backs onto protected woodlands. This is our new hide-away and it needs updating. :clap2:
  22. I really like my Garmin Quest 2. It holds N. America maps and is easily read in the sun. It's small enough to remove from my Ram Mount and slip into my pocket when I go in for a bite to eat. Also waterproof. One of the best accessories I ever purchased for my Venture. There are a few on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.ca/GARMIN-Quest-2-GPS-STREET-QUEST2-NAVIGATION-WaterProof_W0QQitemZ180183766670QQihZ008QQcategoryZ116219QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Midicat
  23. Can everyone say "water falling"? I live in St. Catharines, Ontario. I live 15 minutes from Niagara Falls. See image below. We are in the middle of the Niagara Wine Region. Most noted for the invention of Ice Wine. The practice if harvesting grapes when they freeze on the vine and pressing immediately for a sweet, high alcohol, dessert wine. California tried to replicate this by merely freezing harvested grapes in a freezer and pressing but the FDA determined that the definition of ice wine is product that is harvested frozen from the vine and pressed. Thus, California is eliminated. Awwww. Fantastic region for riding with meandering roads as well as open spaces, so a little of something for everyone. See image below. This is also where the Canadians started out on their quest to trash Washington D.C., including the White House in 1814. We are the only country to do that, eh. Come on up anytime and we'll go for a spin. Midicat
  24. That's mine exactly! Can't beat the price or the efficiency.
