That looks fantastic! It's an attractive addition to the VR. I would love if you could attach a sound file so we could hear it now. Thomas

I'm thinkin' it may be time to move on. I am seriously considering selling my 1985 VR (no class system, no cb) and moving into a V-Star (would I still be welcome here?) I would really like to see where everyone thinks I should set the asking price. I don't know everything, and I think the collective may know more than me. (ya think?) I will upload photos when I unwrap it from winter storage this week. In the meantime, I have attached a photo of my '85 in front of Carl's '85 from 2009 Ride-In. Thanks for your input. Thomas

Here's something that might interest you. 1986 Royale for $2000. Obviously needs some work, but if your handy, why not. http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Yamaha/1300+ROYAL+VENTURE/LONDON/Ontario/5_10141503_ON20071122100019686/?ms=motorcycles_atvs Thomas

Dave If you have the chance to see old Quebec City then you MUST do it. The air of nostalgia throughout the city will take your breath away. This is the only walled city in North America. Small cafes, wine, great food, fantastic views are all just the beginning in Quebec City. Where else can you have a Guinness draft in a 400 yr old ammunition bunker? If you are stopping for just a day then I highly recommend you ride into the town of Levis. That is right across the St. Lawrence River from Quebec City and there is a ferry that runs back and forth constantly. The view (photo opps) from the ferry are truly amazing and you won't be disappointed. The Chateau Frontenac looms large on the hillside and you can see the different levels (ages) of the city from the river. If pricing is a concern then you can find cheaper places to see and eat. But if you want an experience that you will remember for a lifetime for a little more money, Quebec City has what you are looking for. Thomas

That's what I would be doing! You paid good, hard earned money for that ride. You respected the Yamaha name enough to buy it, they should respect your purchase enough to fix it or replace it. Jumping up and down and talking very loudly in a showroom works wonders for getting results. You need to work the phone too. Dial that number on the back of the owners manual and raise hell!

Oh, you guys are talkin' about S.N.O.W. That's the four lettered word you mean. I was wondering because my W.I.F.E. is always in my forecast for the week but that doesn't make me want to put away the bike.

We haven't seen any snow in Niagara but I have packed my baby away for the season. It was a sad day today. I should move to the southern states. Thomas

After visiting the doctor and taking multiple tests, a man was told his short term memory loss was not a physical problem. One night he and his wife are sitting together watching tv. The man says "I'm going to the kitchen, would you like anything?" The wife replies "yes, I'd like a cup of coffee." "ok" says the husband "Are you going to be able to remember that?" says the wife. "Yes, it's fine." replied the husband. "With cream" adds the wife. "Fine" says the husband. "And sugar." says the wife. "Ok, got it" replies the husband. "Shouldn't you right that down? You know the doctor said you should write things down to help you remember." asks the wife. Irritated, the husband replies "No, I don't need to write that down. I've got it. Coffee with cream and sugar." The husband leaves and returns 25 minutes later carrying a plate of bacon and eggs and hands it to the wife. The wife looks down at the plate and asks "where's my toast?"

Cassette Deck, why do you have a problem with MORE options?
Midicat replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
That's right Steve. It's also my understanding that another example is digital photography. Digital cameras need to be at 128 MP in order to reach the quality of film. Just another example that newest is always best. Thomas -
Now that I've seen some of those mugs up here, I'm not too shy to post my own. After all, how bad could I be in comparison. First my face... Next my scoot. That's my 1985 Royale in front of Marcarl's 1985 Royale.

My Radio is Demon Possessed.
Midicat replied to Midicat's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of "re-seating" the radio. After a couple of attempts, all is well. Thomas -
This is driving me nuts! I went out for a short spin today and all was good. The radio was loud the sun was shinning and the traffic was light. Then it happened. I hit a small bump in the road (cuz they aren't as smooth as glass in Niagara), and my radio went into seek mode. It flipped to a new station and then moved onto the next station. It did this for quite a while. Obvious to me I have a short somewhere but I'm not sure where to start. I was thinking about opening up the left handle bar control to clean it. Any thoughts on this? Anyone? Thomas

Hey Bob, My better half tells me I MUST attend the wedding of a niece that day. It figures. It better not be a beautiful day or I'm going to be pretty pissed. (sorry, I really do hope you have nice weather, but if you had a nice day with rain starting just as I would have been heading home, then I would be ok with it. I hate the rain.) Thomas

Fairing Crack Question
Midicat replied to MPK's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Don't worry too much about the compressor. Unless of course, you were counting on having one. They do come up on Ebay from time to time so they are available. I bougth my 85 VR without a compressor and it sure hasn't stopped me from enjoying every mile I ride. Thomas- 20 replies

Scotty, You should go. Plan a nice leisurely ride out that way and check it out. I'm sure we're all wanting to know if this is a fake for sure. If not, I'll fly out there and ride it home. Thomas

Joe, Nice looking scoot. I see what you mean about the missing tank badge. Ya know...if you wanted to really raise the bar of quality, I found a badge that will really impress other riders on the road. http://cgi.ebay.ca/YAMAHA-VENTURE-ROYALE-XVZ-12-13-BADGE-PACKAGE-/270629099474?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f02c057d2 Thomas
