Looks to me like someone bought a bridge.

I have those on my 90. I would not be without them. I have ordered from these people and had excellent results. Good to deal with. I put them on the 86 I had for awhile and that had airwings on before which had cracked the plastic. I just fastened a piece of aluminum on the inside for strength and away we went. It is fairly easy to access the inside of the fairing. What they do is deflect the air away in cold weather but more importantly they direct air over the seat in hot weather.

I find this kind of interesting. Developed for the European market. Take a look at the links. Found this when on another search. Different than what they are marketing here. http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/home.jsp?locale=nl_BE http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2006/10/10/new-harley-davidson-xr1200/#comments

At least the red day cab has a good trailer behind it. I wonder if the large grill has to do with the new emissions requirements. I hadn't thought about it but the other applications (gen-sets) require larger cooling capacity due to the egr thing to bring down particulates. These new engines run hotter due to that. With these emission requirements it takes a larger engine to get the same power. It appears they may have to use a larger radiator which requires the hood to be more straight out and not aerodynamic.

I don't think you want to tow an enclosed trailer with that Bravada. Too much wind drag particularly with a cross or headwind. I have Featherlite 12 foot v-nose and I would not even consider pulling that with my 98 Chevy Blazer. You need a minimum of a 1/2 ton with a 350 and lots of gas money. As I see it the Aluma trailers are OK. I have a 6310H on order with my local dealer. I ordered this to haul my Rhino. Talked to him in December and told him I wanted to wait til the snow melted but to check on any upcoming price increases. There was one coming so we ordered sooner. These trailers are built in Bancroft, IA. The owners live in North Mankato, MN. Best of luck in any choice you make.

Why buy a trailer when you can build one for more? Exactly as Squidley says, do the homework before you start. I am into trailers for a living. I have built and bought trailers. I just committed to buy a trailer to haul my Rhino. I figured I can't build for what I can buy for. The manufacturers buy supplies for less than I can, and I buy for wholesale. Watch it close. What I am saying is why build when you can buy for less. The reason to build is to have something you want and can not buy. Or just for the satisfaction. Just the way I see it.

Bottom line, if you have coolant in the oil do not start the engine. You will most likely end up very sorry later. The antifreeze destroys the bearings. It may seem fine after you have done the heads and run it, then take a big sh-- later. It sounds like you have been running it so you need to figure on rods and mains (bearings) for sure when you tear it down. Take the engine out of the bike and have at it before you do more damage.

Here is a link to a site with manuals. http://manuals.dqt.be/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=36 There are some Yamaha ATV manuals you can download. You should be able to adjust the valves then. Also don't forget the final drive and front differential that need service too. I would service those machines twice a year just to protect the investment. Improper care could cause them to let you down deep in the woods.

Good luck using it, I will stick with what I have been using: Thank You.

Google is not the only site. I use a site that will not only tell me where you live, it will also give me your neighbors with phone numbers and addresses. I had a non-paying ebay buyer that tripped my trigger and I searched the internet and found he was a Gulf War Vet and where he lived, and his neighbors. Lots of info out there if you want to search. Of course in my town you can approach it the old way and ask. If you stopped at the local pub or gas station you could find lots of people. Be wary.

I will not sign that petition for several reasons. One being that I see plenty of stupid actions by bikers themselves. I see them following too close, stopping at the bar for drinks. (By drinks I mean several, not 1 at a break from riding) I have had 2 bikes use both lanes in front of my pickup to impede traffic. My son related the story about when riding with another person they had a biker pull out onto a 55 mile zone highway from a tee road and they damn near got him. The driver had to swerve to miss the bike. My other son talks about how he was coming with a truck and a group of bikers pulled out from a bar location and proceeded to ride slower than the posted limit. Then when they got to the part of the road that was 4 lane they used both lanes and would not let traffic pass. I do not believe that more laws are the answer. Education on both sides of the fence would be a good idea. As for stupid moves I have done plenty and not become a statistic. It is purely by the grace of God that I am here and still able to post this.

I put the bike on the center stand and drain into the same pan I use for everything. If you use the lift and have trouble getting the pan under you might try another trick I use sometimes. On my snowblower the drain pipe came out over the space between the wheel and frame. I would just cut a piece of cardboard and bend it into a v and use that as a trough to get the drain oil to the pan. Just pitch the cardboard when done. If the trough method works you could get some light aluminum and bend a more permanent one. The snowblower was a once a year thing.

That is a good question, how many atv addicts here? What do you ride and how long have you been riding? I started in 1975 with an ATC 90, the big machine back then. I sold my Yamaha 225 3 wheeler in August and bought a used 2007 Yamaha Wolverine with 100 miles on it. I also have a Yamaha Rhino 660. We do some ditch riding in MN and have been to some of the trails in northern MN, plus going to WI riding.

In my eyes they are trying to cover their butt. I see it more as a personal injury lawsuit issue than a mechanical warranty issue. They use the same type of disclaimers with mods on the Rhino and most likely some other things. The thing I can see is if something happens that is obvious to the towing issue. People tow items with their other vehicles that are larger than the manufacturer recommends. I figure with some common sense applied you won't have trouble. Just my thought here.

If you have a key just find a locksmith. The number thing does not appear to work as I needed a key for a Yamaha 4 wheeler and was told by one dealer they could get me a new ignition, or key blanks but not a match key. When you do get a key made have more than one made. I had 2 made for the 4 wheeler and it cost less than 10 bucks. Good luck.

Air suspension question
Kurt replied to Burninator's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I don't believe it should be set on the center stand. Without weight on it you get a false reading. -
Yep you guys got blasted. They were showing on the news this morning that 494 was under water. It was by Portland Ave. Glad to here you are OK. Not a drop here tho. 72 and humid, gonna be sticky working today. What an Indian Summer.

Have held a license to drive a big truck since 1977. Do not have the hazmat endorsement any more. I average 25,000 to 30,000 miles per year among my other duties. Not many by most standards. I have been involved in repair and maintainence of trailers and some trucks since 1976. I am also trained and certified by the MN State Patrol to do annual inspections of commercial vehicles. If I can help in any way just holler, PM or on the forum.

You betcha, lots of politics in agriculture. Don't complain about farmers when your mouth is full. I grew up on the farm and my life is tied real close to the ag economy. This forum is about motorsickles, lets not get way off and into deep s--- here. Nuff said.

I us the dielectric grease in plugs and connectors. When I use a butt connector I fill it and insert the wire and crimp it. Same for ring terminals and spades. The grease moves away enough to get good contact. Works for me. If you don't put it in the connectors and run in MN winter it will corrode very quickly. The spray deicer that is used on the roads will corrode off a wire in 24 hours once it makes contact. Yep that is the stuff they spray on the bridge decks.
