  1. I would love to have that for my Venture. Do you have any pictures of it install on your bike?
  2. Folks I dont want to part this bike out. Make me an offer.
  3. Thank you. I have always enjoyed it.
  4. Its time to let one of my bikes go. I barely ride enough for one and I cant sell the one that my wife bought me. This bike was my favorite. It always ran well and just plain felt better than my 89. All of the plastic is in great condition. As you can see it has some great add ons. It hasnt been on the road in a few years. It has always been stored indoors. I went to ride it a few years back and I had no back brake. It was fine when I put it away on the fall. Lets start at $3000 and go from there.
  5. So I find about 7 good threads on this after I make the post! It looks like I'm off to bleed the left front caliper as well as mess with the proportioning valve.
  6. So the time has come to sell my 86. She has been and still is a great bike. I just don't need 2. I have two problems that I need to repair first. At the beginning of the season I found that my rear brakes were gone. The pedal goes to the stop with no resistance. I bled the brakes and have found that if I pump the pedal I can get some stopping action. Do I need to bleed again or has the master cylinder failed? I did the clutch mod on this bike where you add the additional plate. I have not liked the feel of the clutch since doing the mod. I will probably restore that factory condition.
  7. Dan, my 89 has hesitated since the day I got it. I have run it on nothing but Sea-Foam for a year. Same problem. I'm wondering if it will run better on gas. What do you think?
  8. The one thing that you couldn't do was speed through Naples today. Where do all of those people come from??? I bought a grape pie on my way out of town. It just came out of the oven and was still warm when I got home.
  9. It was a beautiful day in Upstate NY! Perfect for taking a ride to Naples and enjoying the Naple Valley Grape Festival. Don't ever pass up the chance to try grape frozen custard!
  10. Nice looking bike!
  11. So two months ago you overdosed it on Seafoam...why should it need it again? Both of my Gen 1 bikes pump for 10 to 15 clicks when I turn them on. I regularly have one sit for a month and the other for a couple of weeks. 1/2 choke, bump the starter with a simultaneous small twist of the throttle and either one is off and running immediately.
  12. Thanks Jim. I am very proud of Kyle. The event was a huge success. My blue 89 was just to the right of the camera but I couldn't get the camera man to pan over to it.
  13. Berrymans is a problem solver. Seafoam is a problem preventer. Guys, I have never understood the comment "run it hard". What is that supposed to do that running it normal wouldn't do?
  14. Welcome Lou! I have a blue 89 called the Blue Streak and a brown 86 called the Brown Streak. The Brown Streak has been known to leave skid marks... I love the bikes. They have been nothing but fun. The help from the folks on this site has been priceless. http://www.raymondstacy.com/2.jpg
  15. I had the same problem on my 86. The start switch was not coming completely out. As Bob said it will leave the head light off. If I pulled on the start switch the head light would come on. A little cleaner in the start switch solved that problem.
  16. Many Vizio and Vizon TV's have been failing in this way. The most common solution is to replace your main board. Buying a new one from the manufacturer is quite expensive and the delivery time is quite long. The method I used was to post the model number exactly as it is posted on the board and do a search on Ebay. Set your search for least expensive + shipping first and you will save a lot of time finding your matching power board. The LCD itself is not likely to be dead, and the backlight is usually good for quite a number of years. These boards can be had for somewhere between $45 to $175 on average, and have usually been tested for defects. I also used a repair service that takes your board and sends you out a verified replacement. Check out youtube. They have a number of videos that cover the replacement procedure. Ray
  17. Dump some Seafoam in it. That'll fix it:stirthepot:
  18. That's called grass. The helicopter is a Goblin 500 The bike...you know what that is
  19. I'm looking for a "good" to "great" trunk for my 86. I'm not sure what the official color is but I can paint it. BTW, what color is my bike? Here are the options Here is the bike http://www.raymondstacy.com/vr.jpg
  20. I went with the Hopkins 48845. Cheap and it works well. http://www.hopkinstowingsolutions.com/products/vehicle-wiring-connectors/taillight-converters/tail_light_converter_12.html
  21. That has not been my experience Jeff. I saved $$$ by shipping heavy lithium polymer batteries to Las Vegas in a flat rate box. It was better than a 50% savings. Then I had to ship the batteries back again. I took the same flat rate USPS box to FedEx and they shipped back for me. They put their label on the box over the USPS markings. No questions, no problems in either direction.
  22. I just got my E3 mounted today. I will try it out sometime this week. I hope that I like it as much as you do. Ray
  23. Not too far I guess. I live in Sodus. I went to Wards on Rt 21 but they are gone. Stone's will do it for $40. There is a guy in Irondequoit that will do it for $20 What does Filers get for mounting and balance?
