im in florida. old man winter is here! he cut me off this morning, damn snowbirds!
  2. ive been removing plugs and soldering as i go along. i did the connector for the pick-ups too. thanks for the heads up.
  3. i will try to keep up with some pics of this install. here are some with the new stator installed and wired. i eliminated the small harness alltogether. it was fried anyhow. pretty simple, pos to pos, neg to neg, yellow to white. same with rectifier. only problem ive had so far, is i ruined the case cover gasket last night. ordered a new one ( thanks again earl). i should have pre-fit the cover first. didnt go on as easy as it came off. also, the shift rod likes to go upside down and messes up alignment. make suke you are aware of its original position. the new stator has an extra set of windings. guess thats what makes it better? parts of old pics too. as i wired it, i cut off the old wires for reference. helped out. didnt want to mix anything up.
  4. here in florida, we dont really worry about it. experts say, that 15-20 minutes a day of sunshine helps produce vit D.
  5. i didnt replace the harness. its melted at one of the positive wires. im replacing the stator and r/r. so im just going to remove the harness and solder it all together. sound ok to you?? anything i should worry about??
  6. ya. mine electronic manual has 3-52 missing also. sounds like a conspiracy to me! thanks for the help. now i have another question, actually 2. do i need the brown wire coming off the voltage regualtor?? the replacement part doesnt have it. also, what is this?? i took a picture. its a cylinder shaped object attached to the frame. its wiring is spliced into the stator/rectifier harness. cant find it on schems.
  7. ok. i cannot find the torque specs for the left case cover. i replaced the stator (thanks earl) and im ready to reassemble. im missing the page 3-52 in manual. i think its there. any help please?????

  15. dingy, just noticed im missing that circlip on the outside of the shift shaft. that may explain some of the sloppiness. mine slides in and out about half inch.
  16. hi everyone! im taking off the heel toe shifter on my first gen. kinda sloppy. i bought a toe shifter and bracket off ebay. can i get some close-up pictures off how its mounted? is it adjustable? thanks for the help.
  17. i got a really nice, gold anodized, one from niche cycle. about 8 bucks with a cleanable filter.
  18. soooooo.......apparently NOT a good idea.
  19. i would think that an increase in air and fuel would equal more power. the box would definately have to go, it seems that it gets so little air now, and i dont really think that this setup boosts the air intake by a whole lot. considerining the filters are still buried.
  20. earls ideas work! not sure about this. should measure it and find out if the box needs to be removed altogether. maybe could replace it with a smaller storage container somehow. i need something to attach my fuse blocks and tci to.
  21. boy, thats some view you have silvrt!
