  1. in case anyone is interested, I have started to make and sell a patch harness that goes between the two connectors for the tail light harness where they connect under the seat. This will alow you to tap into the circuits without acually having to cut into the original bike harness, because you tap into the patch harness instead. See my listing in the clasified section. A 6", 8", 10" or 12" harness is $4.50 plus shipping from Edgewater, FL.
  2. I pulled a wire harness from my light bar to up under the driver seat and tapped into the original main harness. My trailer harness was tapped in at the same place, it worked but there not much free wire length to work with, so I built a 6" auxillary patch harness and moved all of the T-taps to the aux harness. I can build one more of the aux harnesses before I run out of parts , see my add on the classifieds section of this site. (Shameless plug for my add ) Price is $4.50 plus shipping, if there is enough interest I will continue to build and sell the harnesses. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3961&title=auxillary-taillight-harness&cat=7
  3. Those are the same as many of us have used, can be purchased from Signal Dynamics for between $25.00 and $35.00 depending on red or clear lens.
  4. What you describe sounds more like a loose wire, could be power or ground, if it were a short (that is power going to ground without a load) you would have a blown fuse somewhere. Could be the infamous bad / weak ignition switch that Royals are known to have.
  5. Yes red to positive Black to ground. When trouble shooting for voltge issues always start at the highest voltage on your meter and work down the voltage range until you get a reading that is in the midle 2/3rds of the rang range, testing voltage with the range set lower than the expected max voltage can damage the meter. Also make sure your ground wires are also good and also tight, with our a path back to ground nothing will happen in an electric circuit. Good luck.
  6. Thought: If the Running / Passing Lamps were factory wired, and some were because some models were delivered from the factory with the lights installed, then the passing lights only work when the headlight is in either low or high beam mode , not both, and I cannot remember which way they wired it, so have you checked for passing lamp operation with the headight in both the high and low beam mode? Question: You say you have checked continuity, does that mean you have a Volt Ohm Meter, or are you using a"buzz" box type of set up? If you have a VOM and know where the passing lamps are supposed to get power from, such as the head light circuit, set the meter to any Volts range greater than 12 VDC and check for the presence of voltage from that connection to ground. If you have it at the first junction trace the wire to the next junction and check again, working down to the passing lamps, but if you have continuity you should have voltage, so maybe I am not understanding the issue fully.
  7. Tell Ruffy thanks, he is the one that told me about them.
  8. You can use one of these from Chrome Glow to convert a single intensity LED system to a dual intensity system. http://www.chromeglow.com/catalog.asp?prodid=520657
  9. Jeff Good luck with the rehab, do what you are told, do not over do it.
  10. Here is a set of bag supports on Craigslist here in Daytona, good price. http://daytona.craigslist.org/mcy/2866427677.html
  11. There are several sets of supports on Pinwall's site, most are from Ventures but should work with some minor modifications.
  12. There is a pump for sale over on Delphi, see the link. http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=vrider&msg=12602.1
  13. you will have to get the saddle baq suppots from a Tour Deluxe or Tour Classic or fabricate your own so you have something to hang the mufflers on.
  14. Go to your local dealer and ask them to find the page in their Tucker Rockey parts catalog under tools in the suspension system section with these part numbers 07-0605, 07-0661, 07-0660, 07-0662 those are the pumps from Progressive they range fro 0-30 psi to 0-100 psi, pick the one(s) that suit your needs. Should be in the $35.00 to $40.00 range from a reputable dealer. This link should take right to a copy of the page. http://www.powersportrider.com/cgi-bin/zcatjpg
  15. I have been around Royals since 1997 and this is the first time I have heard of a cracked carb. There are plenty of reports of the boots that connect the carbs to the cyclinders cracking, those are typically nothing to worry about, as the black plastic is covering a metal sleeve for a good portion of the length. So tell us a bit more about the crack and maybe get a photo or two to share , maybe there is another fix besides a complete carb swap. I am also making the assumption that this is for a bike other than what you are showing and listing in your profile, right? The bike in your profile picture looks like a Venture, they all have 32 mm carbs , 1999 to 2012 are the same.
  16. Pin wall is about the best around, but all they have are 32mm Venture set ups, that being said the 32mm sets have been integrated to standard Royal Stars, but it is a bit of work. I will keep an eye open on Craigslist.
  17. Here is one I just did today. I add some cummin and a little chilli powder along with the paprika. Eat them as soon as they are cool enough to not burn your mouth. Baked Sweet Potato Sticks Ingredients 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 teaspoon paprika 8 sweet potatoes, sliced lengthwise into quarters Directions 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet. 2. In a large bowl, mix olive oil and paprika. Add potato sticks, and stir by hand to coat. Place on the prepared baking sheet. 3. Bake 40 minutes in the preheated oven.
  18. Looks like the nut from the battery terminal as suggested above.
  19. Would have a better chance of helping if you could get some pictures that are in focus. It loks like a barrel nut, but I am not sure where a barrel nut is used on a second gen.
  20. Spaceport is a good place to deal with, but there is nothing around there no place to go while you wait. If travel up to Daytona and go to Fun Machines (they are very good) you can at least walk up the street and have breakfast or lunch. http://www.daytonafunmachines.com/
  21. I always liked the one where the guy thought the CD player was a cup holder.
  22. Mine is one of my three cats, Mickey "duh Cat", he is Devon Rex, which is a fairly rare breed here in the US, they do not have the third coat of hair most cats have and their fur is wavy almost curly and most people that are allergic to cats do not have any reactions to them. We gave him the name “duh cat” because he gets confused when I leave the door open that is next to his pet door. He is not sure how to get into the house from his screen room; he will just sit there and stare at the open door until I tell him to come in.
  23. Go to the GOOGLE search engine www.google.com and click on the logo above the box or bar what ever you call it. It is pretty cool.
  24. There is a good museum in Fort Walton Beach area on the back side of Eglin, dedicated to Air Force weapons and weapons development, pretty good selection of aircraft on static display, SR71 included. Also have Thomhawk cruise missile hanging in the rafters and the largest conventional weapon (bomb) ever made, 10,000 lb hard bomb, GAU-8 30mm cannon and my personal favorite, the M61A1 20mm cannon. http://www.afarmamentmuseum.com/index.shtml http://www.afarmamentmuseum.com/images/page_pics/vietnamwar_m61.jpgM-61 20mm. Vulcan Cannon
  25. Bob, I was going to post to let everyone know you made it off the ship OK, and there you beating me to it. It was great meeting you and your wife, hope you have a safe trip home, make sure you stop in on your next trip south. Take care
