  1. Rick, go to the lower left of the page and there is a box that allows you to change the color. Classifieds are gone, Don is working on something, he does not like the limitation of the default classified section, said he will let us when he has something worked out.
  2. Those boots always crack and look bad, In 17 years of being around Royal Stars I have never heard of any that cracked thru. There are a couple of things you could do. To see if they are cracked thru spray some starting fliud on them while it is idling, if they are cracked thru the idle speed will change. You could treat the outside with plastic drip like what they use to cover tool handles or get some liquid electrical tape at Home Depot and brush a coat of that over the outside and let it fill the cracks.
  3. I have the pins for the aux connector under the seat, if any one needs some let me know, just PM me.
  4. Barry, Here is a link to the updated thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?89377-New-location-for-Florida-Meet-amp-Greet-Nov-9-th The address is: 210 S.R. 60 West, Lake Wales, FL 33853.
  5. Should not require splitting the fairing, I thought the same thing when I did mine on my 07, but I did need to cut a few tie wraps and maybe take some wires and cables out of the stays they are in. I had do some repositioning and tugging on cables and wire bundles. When you are able to get everything in place check the throttle for binding when at full stop on both left and right side. It is a bit fiddely, but it can be done, some take longer than others to do.
  6. It is on the back side of the fairing on the left side, it has a black rubber cover on it , not visible when you are sitting in the seat.
  7. Mothers also has a product called "Black to Black" I used it on a set of airboxes I got off ebay when I changed out the ones I opened up, worked good, also used it on all of the black surfaces on my 13 Wing and worked very well.
  8. I like more each time I visit.
  9. The dealers, especially the parts guys, know less about the Venture than anyone on this board. They were forever asking me, "Is that the 1600 cc or the 1700 cc version?" or "Why do you think you need 4 spark plugs?" Chances are they have the bolt or a suitable sub in stock, but are just to ignorant to know they have it. Best option is just what has been suggested here, take one of the bolts from the plastic cover around the ingition or one from the side cover and go to ACE, Lowes or Home Depot and match it up as best you can, use blue locktit when you install it and carry a spare.
  10. I liked the Member Vendors area on the old web site, made easy to direct folks to those adds because they were always in the same spot, easy to find. I would like to see that section come back and we can all start fresh again.
  11. Puc, sorry to hear this, our prayers go out to you and your family.
  12. Don, Do the deal and make the upgrade to the new site, there is way to much missing on this one now. Where are the classifieds for example. We will all get used to the new site very quickly.
  13. Try this link to the classified section. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=22&title=butler-built-saddle-bag-bolts&cat=16
  14. The MT should indicate that it is a Midnight version, they came only in black and extra chrome and other upgrades. Later they were replaced with the S models of various colors. Google is your friend. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=XVZ13TFMT
  15. Freebird, Guilty as charged. I was going into withdrawals and checking back fairly often.

  17. I guess it does not matter to me where it is now, I have to bow out on this one. I just found out that I have the fly to Denver on the 9th to met up with a couple of guys from work for an audit on Monday, then of to LA on Tuesday, San Diego on Thursday and then Dallas the following Monday for about 3 days. No rest for the wicked I guess. You all, have a great time, and if you happen on some ice cream have one for me.
  18. Post 1 also had, I voted for Mount Dora, I did not see where anyone else offered an opinion. I can do either, just wanted some clear guidance on where and when it was going to be.
  19. Has the location been picked yet? I did not recall seeing a location picked yet.
  20. utadventure, no that would be Dion djh3 that makes the ignition bypass. I make the tail light wiring adapter.
  21. The key on my 07 was always warm to the touch after riding, not uncomfortable to touch, but noticeably warm. Ignition switches on the second gens are know for going south.
  22. The 9th is fine.
  23. This is pretty clever if you like camping and trailering. http://idahobedroll.com/#
  24. I am partial to Mount Dora myself, good riding in the area if there is time for a little tour after the Meet and Eat.
  25. All of the models that have the switch mounted forward on the left under the tank have issues with the switch failing, mostly due to the heat that it sees from air coming through the radiator. When they went bad Yamaha would replace them with an upgraded switch that is more robust and seldom failed. One way to know if the switch has been replaced is if you have different keys for the ignition than you do for the gas cap or saddle bags if it still has the hard factory bags installed. The switch on my 98 Tour Classic failed while it was under warrenty, Yamaha replaced it and gave the bike back to me with 2 sets of keys, I pitched such a fit that the head mechanic said , just bring it by one day and I will re-key the ignition with your old tumblers. He did just that next time I was in the shop. I rode the bike for probably 7 more years and 70,000 more miles and never had an issue with the ignition.
