  1. I have not seen the diagram of this circuit, but speaking in general terms. If the diode is in series with the coil, it should still act the same as any diode, continuity in one direction and open in the other, the relay coil in that configuration will not change that. BUT If the diode is in parallel with the coil , now you should get continuity in both directions, however, in one direction where it is going thru the coil only, you should have continuity with some resistance in the circuit that is indictive of the coil's resistance. The diode in parallel with the coil is pretty common in aircraft wiring, this eliminates the spike caused as the coil voltage collapses when the relay is de-energized, thos spikes raise havoc with sensitive electronics used in aircraft comms and instument systems.
  2. For what it is worth, I have noticed that any post I respond to, where I am the last poster, it is not visible to me on the forums, I cannot see them until I got to my profile and look up posts I have started or responded to. Maybe that is the way it supposed to work, but it is not very convienient and was very frustrating until I figured it out.
  3. Did you change to a Barnett coil spring pressure plate? If not did you change the stock diaphragm spring? What are you using for oil?
  4. I used to get that a lot when I had my Venture and my Royal Star Tour Classic. Normally it was worse after a hard run home on the super slab, it is the carbs, try turning the petcock off as you approach home to start draining the bowls, then once it is parked, let it idle until it dies because it starved for fuel, that should get rid of the fuel odor.
  5. Do you have a photo that shows the profile? Many places like McMaster Carr stock various types and sizes ruber gasket materials. Here is a link to some possibilities. McMaster-Carr McMaster is very good about supplying samples be fore purchasing.
  6. Barry. take care and be safe.
  7. Leesburg is good, smallish city, good riding area, medium sized bike rally every year in April. It is in the central part of the state so gets very warm in the summer, no cooling sea breezes, but the Atlantic or the Gulf coasts are only an hour away, one east one west.
  8. Any particular destination in mind? The east coast below Jacksonville to south around Fort Pierce is not so congested as the west coast and also cooler in the summer due to Atlantic sea breezes. I am in the Daytona Beach area, riding in this area is not great, but about 45 minutes west it is pretty good.
  9. I ran HH pads on my 07 for 6 years with no problems, still had some on her when she was sold with 71,000 miles, I will admit I never did put a mic on the rotors, so cannot say if the rotor wear was excessive, but like many thing in life, brake part are very dependent on how you treat them, you are a heavy breaker then things wear out faster. I was always mindful that I had HH on the rear, given the propensity for Royals to lock up the rear wheel on semi-hard breaking situations.
  10. I am taking Friday the 13th off work, so I will around somewhere, normally spend a lot of time at the speedway, but with all the construction they are doing on the speedway, it is hard to say what or who will be set up there.
  11. The big problem with driving on 19 south of Weeki Watchee is not the old folks behind the wheel, it is their parents behind the wheel, you really have to watch out for the blue haired ding bats that is for sure, does not matter if in a car or on a bike, they are out to get you.
  12. Front fenders from 96 to 13 should al be the same. There is a gut over on Delphi that just found a brand new one he had stashed and forgot about. here is a link, he did have someone asking about it. Royal Star front fender [royalstar 10093.1]

  14. I am not sure what is going up, do not follow it much now that the shuttle is over. They launched a Space X cargo ship a few weeks back and Saturn 5 last week.
  15. Dion's route looks pretty good, pick up the Turnpike where it intersects I-95, I was thinking you wanted to go due west from Titusville to get the Turnpike, that would be out of the way, but the Turnpike will get you out to the west side of Miami and be less traffic and probably quicker. I seldom venture that far south, and forgot that the Turnpike went so far east. Depending on when you in the area, may we can hook up, I am only about 25 milles south of Daytona and 25 miles north of T'ville. Launches are as about as predictable as the weather, often they postpone sometimes several times or for several days, so planning on seeing one if you only in the area for a few days will be a crap shoot at best, good luck, they are mpressive to watch I will say that.
  16. Maybe a bit of clarification is needed in your question. Are looking for roads to ride just for the pleasure of riding, or are you looking for an alternate route from T'ville to the Keys that does not involve the Interstate, you would be going a long way out of your way to get to the "Florida Turnpike" from T'ville, I assume you are generically using the word Turnpike for Interstate? To answer your question that I thoink you asked, tere are some North/South roads on th eeast coast other than I-95, but you are not going to get anywhere very fast, US 1 and A1A are one choice, but lots of traffic and slow speed zones, like 35 MPH. There really are no north / south routes west of US 1 or I-95, there are some roads but they go thru housing developments are straight and would not be condusive to motorcycling. If it were me, I would be headed down I-95 to I-75 and what ever is south of Miami. If you think going north and south is tough here in FL, try going east or west.
