Drive Pumpkin is Cooked
Sleeperhawk replied to RedRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, the next time I take the drive shaft out to grease the U-joint end, I will take a look at the pumpkin end. I know on the 05 for sure there was oil on that end, and on the 08 I have not bothered taken it out. Now I am curious because I do not want to have grease and oil in the rear end. -

Wow, never had any noise with my E3s, even when they were wore down and ready for the next set. -

The snap ring should be completely seated and not bulging. You may not nave the hub completely seated and by the way what did you do with the round rubber band that goes on the opposite side of the hub from the seal that you see in the pic. You should have seen this when you pulled the hub. -

Did you put the washer on the correct side of the brake bracket? Did you replace the rear brake pads by chance and/or check the rear brake fluid? -
86r is home safe and sound. He left me a voice message had a couple of interesting moments, but made it. :cool10:

That is how he explained it to me, so I told him to be careful and not forgot which is which.

Well, at this point I decided not to get the wing. Oh, by the way, the Mechanic wanted me to get the bike. I have just slept on it, and it was bugging me the whole day. So at this point, nope.
-
Oh no, she knew exactly what you were talking about. That is why it is so funny, she would have told them to jump in :rotf::rotf:
-
Even the Mechanic said to let hang out over the side :rotf:

I found an 06 white with the following: "Owner is asking 13,500 for an 06 with 20,194, white, just about everything I am looking for in the GW, heated seats and grips, fog lights, floorboards with heel toe shifter, cb." Is 13,500 to much for an 06?

Yes, just get rid of the stupid AKA Squidley that is attached. :rasberry:

HID Low Beam, but No High Beam ??
Sleeperhawk replied to Sleeperhawk's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have it connected to the auxiliary fuse panel, with a 10 amp fuse. Looks like the hot from the kit is a 16g wire, but I ran a 14 from the fuse panel with a connector to the 16g. The rep from the company stated it sounded like it was not getting enough juice for the high beam. -

After I get back from Alabama, I will run a ground to back to the battery area. I grounded it were the radio is grounded. -
HID Low Beam, but No High Beam ??
Sleeperhawk replied to Sleeperhawk's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Nope, no Modulator on this bike. Just took it out for a ride, can ride all day on low beam, and I can find the sweet spot on high beam switch, just can't depress it all the way. -
HID Low Beam, but No High Beam ??
Sleeperhawk replied to Sleeperhawk's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Honestly, the guy was being helpful. I really believe it is in the Venture high/low beam switch. What I am finding out is that when I go from low to high beam slowly, the High beam will operate, but I must not move the switch any further. If I move the switch all the way forward, the high beam does not illuminate, but the old bulb in the original socket will. so I am wondering if something in the kit is wired backwards. :confused24: -
Ok, put in the HID kit from that everyone is raving about. Well of course, Murphy's Law now steps in. I have low-beam but no high-beam, put the old bulb back in, both beams work. Called the Canadian company and they say not enough power to the ballast for the high-beam or could be a faulty low/high beam switch on the bike. Took the switch apart and of course it is a sealed plastic unit with three wires coming out. Now I slowly push the switch to high beam and the HID high beam comes on, but that is with the switch barely depressed and when fully enaged, no HID high beam. So anyone have a possible answer, otherwise I am going back to the standard bulb.

Nope, made sure of that too. Just got really frustrated with them, and went and bought the JM Elites. Happy now.
-
Actually, the EdSets were the first ones in the new helmet. I actually had to carve out some of the styrofoam to make room for the JM because they were thicker. Even Bobbie said she could not hear very well with the EDsets in my helmet, because I thought I was loosing my hearing (another story) .
-
I have both and I prefer the JM Elite. For some reason I have not been able to figure out, the Edsets with Zumo were to low even with volume cranked up everywhere to max. With the JM Elite, I am back to normal range of volume with Zumo and the radio. I know lots here prefer the Edsets, but not me.
