I may have them laying around in a box someplace, was hoping to try them on another helmet. These edsets I have are for a flip up helmet. The sound was coming through and at speeds of of 30 to 40 could hear ok, but anything above that even with volumes on Zumo and AUX cranked to the max, could barely hear anything. I swapped them and put in a cheap pair of J&M, about blew my ear drums out, forgot to turn down volumes, so I bought the 529 J&M pair and really no noise issues.

NO that is the model number of the new fancy ones, 629, the previous ones were 529. The cheap ones were going for 49 to 69 over the years.

The one thing I like about XM (besides music) is the weather maps and traffic maps. Yep, more subscription money, but when going through large cities like Atlanta we knew where the delays were and could go around them. The weather gave us warnings about tornadoes and such along our route.

Lets put it this way, over the years we kept buying the 69 dollars and they usually last about one riding season, plus very tinny. Finally, I broke down and bought the most expensive ones at the time (529). I did try the Edsets, could barely hear anything with them, but the 529 has a nice bass sound and the tinny issue is not there. I need to get Mechanic a new set, (hers are 3 years old), so it will be the 629 this time.

I am using 4.0 and Chrome, prefer Chrome. 4.0, so far tons better than the old 3.9.* whatever, those kept locking up in the last couple of months, then all of sudden come blasting thru. So far no lock issue with 4.0

Love the ScottsBluff area. Use to live in Kimball back in the late 70's. Nice short hot summers, but then the evenings cool off nicely, not like here. But don't miss the hail storms though.

Definitely Khromewerks, easy to repack if needed. Nice looking bike.

I liked the black one you had better, but glad you are back on a Vaulk. It is a different color though.

Been looking for a trailer too, but just can't pull the string. I saw the one above, just remind me too much of the Harbor Freight trailers. Bobbie thought we were loosing parts going down the highway when we pulled the HF one. If I had the money, Hannigan would be my choice, especially the LT version.

Mechanic and I usually do 8 to 10 hour rides, no problem. But she has a half helmet and uses ear plugs to cut down on wind noise. She loves the sound of the pipes.

Resonable miles per hour on trip
Sleeperhawk replied to Sylvester's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mechanic and I spent two weeks on the road, basically the same trip as you. Left here went through Texas to see daughter, left San Angelo, TX spent the night in Alberque, NM, then on to Grand Canyon, left the next day into Needles, California, then to Las Vegas, spent the night there, went over Hoover Dam, then back to Tucson, AZ. Spent two days there. Then up to a little town in New Mexico, then on to 4 corners next day, went across south Colorado to Colorado Springs, spent the night. back into New Mexico came across the panhandle of Oaklahoma, spent night in Medicine Lodge, KS. Up to central Kansas to see parents for about 2 hours, then back to El Dorado, KS, spent 2 days with brother. Then back down through Wichita, KS, through Tulsa, OK, then Little Rock, AR, then Memphis, TN, spent the night in Athens, AL and the next day. Then came home the last 500 miles. Got home, we looked at each other and was ready to go again. That was a blast of a trip. -

Nice color, Dennis. So what trailer are you getting, I am looking at the Hannigan LT Trailer. Decisions, decisions. I know Mechanic is about ready to shut down the internet so I quit looking. Just because I found an 08 white with about 7000 miles, sheeez.

Preliminary Report on Pirelli MT66 ROUTE tires
Sleeperhawk replied to V7Goose's topic in General Tech Talk
I went back to the Avons after having the E3 for the last two seasons. So far no cracking and they stick much better in the curves than the E3. I really didn't think there would be a difference in the ride between E3 and Avon, but after breaking loose a couple of times in curves last season (2 up), I went back to Avons. No breaking loose in the curves with these tires. But again, no cracking yet.
