  1. You can also take the seat off and find your line from the front forks that go to the compresser and the line that goes to the rear shock and cut them I was able to get a compression fitting with a air valve to put the air in that was a easy and alot less work I just run the lines out next to the side cover and had one for the front and one for the rear. Orlin
  2. If you knew of someone with a Standard Venture parts bike you can get the lines you need, I have done that with a couple that I had, got tired of messing with the contoler, You can take your lines out of the front forks and make a your own a line to eack fork with a tee fitting in it so you can inflate both forks the same. Try ebay maybe find the parts that you need, I will dig threw my parts and see what I can come up with may have the line that you need for the rear. If I have it just pay the shiping and its yours Orlin
  3. Have had to change things up alittle, I talked with the people at the Blue Goose and they said that Saturday would be better for us, Friday is their busy day and are usally booked up, And they do have some great Pizza and Ice cream. They have seating for 75 and will need to make reservations ahead of time is best. They said they are looking forward to meeting our group. There are some great roads to ride to get there and back again you wont be dissapointed. And we will be doing the cookout and bonfire on Saturday. If you are planning on coming please RSVP on the calendar so I can get started on getting things set up. Thanks Orlin
  4. Rick no getting rid of the 2000 for a long long time cant even think of such a thought, Sharon talked me into getting the 1st gen, it didnt take much but she did. And no talk of a new pup with this one either. Jeff That 2nd gen has good power too you better make sure that 1st gen is tuned and ready to keep up:stirthepot:
  5. Jeff you better keep that plug wire hooked up, you know how Sharon likes the take off of those 1st gens, Orlin
  6. Well I got in a short ride today after letting it soak over night with some seafoam in the carbs number 2 and 4 cylinders werent getting any fule and the pipes were cold, now the carbs are working and the pipes are getting hot and she is running alot smoother:). 7. I went and picked the 84 Venture today that I brought back from a parts bike a few years ago. I had sold it to my brother in law just after I had gotten it done. Well he got him a 2nd gen last fall and decided to sell it back to me, so now I am back in the saddle of a 1st gen again, got it home today charged the battery up and took it for a short ride can hardly wait to get out on the road and open her up. 50s tomarrow just maybe a good day to go and have some fun. Orlin

  9. I am wanting to put a set of passing lamps on my 2000 Venture and am wondering what others have used, do the ones from the RSTD fit? Or am I better off saving some more fun money and get the ones that are made for the Venture. Orlin
  10. Yep just one for me, I have one beer, one mixed drink a year and a glass of wine in there some where. Well maybe I could go to two this year I didnt get a Rum Ball last year. Orlin
  11. Yep I get that Orlin I need some help from Sharon she says I droped a cap down the bathroom sink drain, I can see it but cant get ahold of it with the stuff at hand in the house, and she says I hope this doesnt mess up your day, she knows how much I like plumming. I said nope doesnt mess up my day at all because you get to learn plumming today if I cant get the cap out:shock3:, so down to the shop and grab my long needle nose come back in reach in the drain and grab the cap and get it out of the drain:) and hand it to her and she says great I didnt want to learn plumming today:) Being a owner of a few 1st gens came in handy if it wasnt for them I wouldnt of had that great extra long nose needle nose pliers:whistling: Orlin
  12. Rum balls and side stand plates, Im asking for one of each. Orlin
  13. Its getting closer, If you are planing on coming and want to stay in Viroqua at a motel you should give them a call and reserve a room they do get filled up during the summer. We have plenty of camping room, And I have been working on my shop and its a 30 by 60 shop so there will be room to work on the bikes. When we started this we did in hopes that we could get more people each year so dont be shy come and enjoy the company and see some of the area. Orlin and Sharon
  14. Great idea, And the last Saturday of August works. Orlin
  15. Yep now I can go someplace if it warms up:confused24: sure seemed like a long winter of plowing snow, sanding ice and winging back snow drifts. Now I can get to work on the Campground and get ready for Maintenance Day and then there is that other list of things to do that Sharon has for me:shock3: But if I park the bike out where she can see it it doesnt take long before we are going for a ride and work on that list later:whistling: Hope we get to see all of our old friends and get to make a bunch of new ones this spring, summer and fall:) Have a safe riding season everyone. Orlin

  17. We will be opening the 1st weekend in May for camping, There will be 2 camping areas one area down by the creek and the other up by the buildings, It is rustic there will be clean porta poities and a place to shower. We are located 6 miles East of Viroqua down in a nice valley, We are in the middle of some of the best riding roads you can find anywhere. Orlin and Sharon
  18. We went from the 1st Gen to 2nd Gen last summer and got in some good riding time on the 2nd Gen. Sharon says she likes the 2nd Gen better than the 1st after she got used to the diffrence, She says she is more comfortable has more room and can see more, but she still likes the looks of the 1st Gen better says it has a classy look that she likes. As for me with a passenger on I do like the 2nd Gen over the 1st Gen seems better balanced at a stop light or stop sighn and a much smoother going down the road the second Gen just seems more planted on the road. I do miss having a 1st Gen for zipping around on the twistie hill roads around here so I am sure that there is going to be another 1st Gen in the shed before to long. Orlin
  19. Happy Birthday! Orlin and Sharon
  20. I did some soda blasting last winter and it works great for removing paint and doesnt heat up what you are blasting and doesnt pit plastic either, They make diffrent types soda to use they do have some with a sharper grit but even that seemed to work fine also and it works great for romoving grease and oil. You do have to wash and clean your parts after because it leaves a bit of a film and the clean up is easy. There are some good videos on utube to check out for soda blasting. Orlin
  21. I agree with a saftey course and something other than a crotch rocket for the first bike. Get a nice bike to learn on and stay away for that need for speed feel of the crotch rocket untill he has miles under his belt. Orlin
  22. I put the list of motels on the calendar and on the Meet and Eat if you are coming please RSVP on the calendar. Thanks Orlin
  23. Happy Birthday! Have a great day! Don. Orlin and Sharon
