  1. I ran a set of the 880 last year I got close to 8,000 out of the rear tire and still had some to go on the front tire. I did really like the way the bike handled with them and the rear did make a howl when going around the curves. When I was at the shop looking at getting a set there was a rep for Metzler there and I got to talk with him about the issues with the tires. And he told me that the tire's that they had most of the problems with were the ones from Brazil that they had put the wrong tire pressure on the side of the tire and people were running them under inflated and that they had moved the production of the 880 back to Germany because of the quality of the rubber so I would think that the one tire you are looking at that was made in Brazil my be getting kind of old. He did tell me to run 50 pounds in the rear tire that I would get better ware out of the tire with it being on a heavy bike and ridding two up most of the time. I did that and had no problems with the 880
  2. I have use of my computer again, I have been just kinda looking at posts with my phone and I see this one and think where is Puc off to now and I read it again I know where that is. I guess that I will have to put something up at the end of the drive so them there night time travelers can find the place I will have to think on that:think: Glad that you found your way here, and that the directions down to the campground wasnt to hard to follow maybe some of the reflectors on those little posts may help but if everyone could find it to easy we wouldnt have fun seeing those Venture Riders go by a couple of times untill they figure out that this is the place. And Puc we are a friendly group here in Wisconsin even the Gizzly Bears.
  3. Glad I was of help, And you are back on the road and get to enjoy the rest of your vacation.
  4. You are in our thoughts and prayers,
  5. Rick when my wheel bearing went out there was no shavings, when I got the weight of it I had some side to side play, when I got the wheel off the bearing fell apart. Can't see that being a problem with the brake.
  6. I am with cowpuc on this, sounds like a brake pad problem, could have lost the pin that holds pads in place and the pad has droped down and that is where your noise is coming from and has gotten stuck and wont let the caliper move. Just another thought. You really cant check the wheel bearing unless you get the tire up off of the ground to get the weight of the bike off of it. When mine went out couldnt get any play untill I got it jacked up and got a bar under it to move it up and down.
  7. I know that guy well, And he really does like those MK1 the best of all. I am sure someone that has been here can remember his name.
  8. Bubber you know this was a Maintenance Day,
  9. Thanks to all that came, it sure turned out to be another great time, And when you think you cant have a better time than last year it happens. Got a great suprize visit Thursday night at around 11:30 Cowpuck and Tippy rolled in after a couple of drive bys to find the place. Did find out if there is a bike in need and Cowpuck is around it wont be long and he has to get in there and wrench away, glad that we could make him feel to make him at home, I do have to say I was alittle disapointed ther wasnt any hot dogs cooking in the morning so we settled for bacon and eggs. I just dont know what all to tell everyone the list could just go on, So the I guess the high lights will do. We had a small explosion:yikes: from a gas fridge on A1 Bummers shewlie all turned out good just some burnt linoleum and the eggs and bacon were fine. Celabrated a couple of birthdays but frodotoo,s hearing must be going we all had to speak up must happen with age. So if you run into him somewhere be sure to speak up so he can here ya. And the big news is I herd bikehopper aka Shari and IH Tuck Guy aka Dan are done but I realy dont think so because they were holding hands it looked to me that they were getting along pretty well. But she did trade him off for a cup of coffee this morning to Mega2500 and his wife Candy:confused24: but she got him back after breakfast and they looked pretty darn happy so I am sure all is well. I know that I have left out more but I was told that what happens here stays here but somethings you just have to share with family. We did get to enjoy showing off some of our great riding roads had some good laughs good food and the company was the best. Thanks again to everyone who came and we will be doing it again next year so put it on you calendars. Orlin and Sharon
