That wind was something, I got out of the dump truck to help a lady stuck in the ditch and my cap took off into the air and the wind give me help sliding down the road to her car. Had to clean up tree limbs off of the roads while I was sanding should of had my ice cleats on for walking on the road.

Looks like we will be hosting the 2017 International Rally here in Wisconsin and we are looking forward to doing it. I will put more information on the site once we have the dates set. Orlin

We had 6 inches of snow on Friday now is pouring rain, we had a flood here in December last year I don't remember Decembers like this, lots of snow but not heavy rains. There are flooded streets in town and the creeks are coming up. And we have another round of heavy rain coming yet tonight. A lot of repair work on the roads from the October flood still hasn't settled in yet. Sure hope the best for the ones that are traveling tonight that they make it home safe and sound.

83 venture vs royal
OrlinEngh replied to Matt_P's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have found a lot of parts and on Craigslist also. -
I have signed off of the VR, Face book page didn't go on it much at all and like I said this is the place to be and I plan on being on here for a long time yet. This is where I have got to know some great people, some I haven't met face to face and some have got to be great friends and family. And all of the help keeping those Ventures purring down the road it just doesn't get any better.

I think about not being on the Facebook site myself I very seldom go on there, and have to say when I first seen that there was going to be a VR facebook page I was disappointed. This is the place to be.

83 venture vs royal

If it was me I would go with the one that runs first, and take the two and make one good one, Never know with the other one you could spend a lot of time to get it to run and find out it isn't worth it. I have rebuilt a few of these Ventures and if you keep watch you can find some parts bikes that are still in fairly good shape. Here is a couple of pics of one that I pulled out of the shed last summer and am about done with. I done this one with a couple of hundred dollars of parts that I picked up here and there. -
We had -20 here this morning along with -30 wind chill, most likely will get alittle colder tonight winds are going to pick up today until late afternoon. Put a few more chunks of wood in the stove and its a nice 75 here in the house. Hate to leave the house but have to go and plow drifts back on the ridge roads from yesterdays 8 inches of snow. Stay warm and be safe out there in the cold.

Welcome to the site, And you have came to the right place to ask questions there is a lot of knowledge on the Ventures here so don't be afraid to ask. I have asked my share of questions and have always got a answer. Orlin

I will be getting the 86 I bought this fall a lot of cleaning and buffing and it should be ready to take to some shows this coming summer, mostly just for something different to do and have some fun. The 84 new tires and a set of coils and just some tinkering. The 2000 it will get tore down and a good going over to have it ready for next summer, No big upgrades unless I run across a good deal on some Vmax parts. And I have a few bikes coming in for some detail work so I have plenty to do on those days Im not out plowing snow. Orlin

Well I finally got a new computer, so I don't have to use my phone to look at stuff on the internet, I did get the Maintenance Day put on the calendar but other than that I have just made some quick looks here and to post with my phone just takes me way to long. I see that there is some catching up to do. We have had a busy fall around here late September we had had a straight line winds go threw and took out some of our trees and some damage to my bigger shed roof and side wall, Then came the flood and took up most of October and November repairing roads and cleaning up here at our campground. Now that winter is soon to set in around here and the bikes will be taken apart and get them all ready for next seasons riding, I will have some more time to get all caught up. Orlin

We will be having our 6th Annual Maintenance Day here in WI, June 24 Orlin

I am going to be shipping some parts and am wondering whats the best way to go about this, And who offers the best deal. Thanks Orlin
-
Yes you need to report this. I went threw pretty much the same thing with my daughter and these boys are most likely doing to others also. Stand by your daughter have her talk with someone that deals with this kind of stuff she is looking for help. And yes I wanted to deal with it my way but was convinced buy my wife and good friend that if I did I wouldn't be able to be there for her from where I would be if I did what I wanted. If you need someone to talk with feel free to give me a call my number is in my profile. Orlin

I put the leveling links and the 130 tire on makes it a much better handling bike. And you don't notice much of difference in the height I am 6'1 and still flat footed when setting on the seat. If you get to Viroqua look us up we always like to get out for a ride. Or just have some company. And the last weekend in June we have a Maintenance Day here at our place it's always a good time.
