  1. I try to make it to FL twice a year... Usually Bike Week in March and Biketoberfest in Oct... The best Old School Biker Bash that I've been to in years is in Lakeland the 1st weekend in Nov is Roscoe's Chilli Challenge (Due to the nature of Roscoe's Chili Cook-off (an adult celebration), this website contains adult material and nudity, and may not be suitable for children. Viewer discretion is advised)
  2. I've read write-ups on those quadzillas and they have a plug and you wire the plug side to the bike... so if you run a relay for it you just tap into a switched circuit like parking lamp circuit which only come on with the key... Then you have 1 plug to disconnect to remove it...

  6. I have a brand new left handlebar switch housing with all the switches that I'd be willing to sell... and I also have a set of new saddlebag crash bars for a RS... Let me know..
  7. Did either of you notice that the front tire is wider than the rear????
  8. Yeah I had a car tire and it hit the wearbars at 19K but about 14k of that was pulling a trailer... I was going to go with a Michelin XZX 165SR15 on the rear and a Dunlop K700 150/80R16 Rear on the front... BUT... I was planning on going back to Laconia this weekend and I couldn't pull it off on time so I ordered the Elite 3s on Mon. and they were in my Bro's shop on Tues... PS: Laconia looks like a washout...
  9. You're right Don I get my "topic" notifications instantly and my "Forum" subscriptions come in at Midnight... I was getting them mixed up.. Thanks for setting it straight..
  10. Yes I know about the Elite 3 Radials but not in the 150/80-16... For that size you need to get a D-251 and it's for a Vulcan 2000 or a VTX 1800 I believe...
  11. Starbog I'm not sure if your post is an attempt at humor or if you didn't understand my post ,,, So I changed a couple of words and added a paragraph break in case it was the latter...
  12. Forget it it I just cross referenced it with the Dunlop website and put 2+2 together and realized it was the difference between WWW and BWs.... the 2 pics of BW tires threw me...
  13. I just bought a set of Dunlop Elite IIIs for my RSV and I noticed that the front tire is fatter than the rear... This bugged me a little so I did some poking around and found out the MV85-15 size listed for the RSV rear is the same as a 150/80-15 (See it here)... I got the stock size 150/80-16 for the front and I guess because of the 1" difference in rim size makes the front wider... I haven't got past the scrub in stage yet so I'm not sure if it affects handling... Has anyone else noticed this???
  14. The VR notifications go out at 12:01 AM.. You could set a rule for Outlook Express/ Microsoft Mail to forward all the VR notifications to your work e-mail... BUT someone would have to send/receive after Midnight or you could leave your home PC on with OE/MM open and set to send/receive every so often. Another option is to set your Home PC Account to "leave a copy of messages on server" with "Remove from server after XX days" boxes checked and retreive your e-mail at work by going to your Home ISP's Webmail Website or by setting up your E-mail account at work using the above settings. OR... Just go to VR.Org and click on "New Posts" Good Luck
  15. You're not alone Wes... I like the 404s too... I think they handle better than the Bridgestones and the Avons...
  16. I'm not sure how many sets of 404s you've run but I went through 5 sets and the worst mileage I got was 7500 miles... and that was 2 up pulling a trailer... The best I got was 12,000... I really liked the 404s handling and price... On the flipside I tried 1 set of Avons and only got 7500 out of a rear reinforced and did not like the handling on wet roads... Now I got a Kumho car tire on the back with 18000 and still has plenty of tread..
  17. You can use any kind of 7" Headlight if you follow these instructions... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=498
  18. You might want to check out this radio announcement put out by the City of Myrtle Beach: Radio Ad discouraging bikers from coming to Myrtle Beach
  19. Motorcycles Unlimited Telephone: 281 444 0545 Tues. - Fri. 10 - 6:30, Sat. 9 - 6 Motorcycles Unlimited 1964 FM 1960 Rd. Highly recommended... They won't rip you off on mounting tires. Tell them the Maineac ATM Guy sent ya..
  20. I just did my rear brakes in a Motel 6 parking lot... I had plenty of meat when I left FL but the Mountains here in CA, the traffic here, and pulling my trailer ate them up fast... I tried 4 Yamaha dealers in CA and none of them had them in stock... I finally found them at a Cycle gear place... By the time I got the brakes both pads were down to metal... I'll probably have to do the rotor when I get back home.. This is one of the downsides of using the bike for a work vehicle... If it runs ya gotta keep on truckin...
  21. I'm not sure... But RickH should be able to answer that question... Either shoot him a PM or an e-mail at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com/oem.htm...
  22. Dude you already posted this in Members introductions which really ain't the place for this question and then you go and repost it in the Royal Star Tech section when it should have been in the Second Generation Venture Tech Talk section... you're 0 for 2... Just kidding ... Hey maybe you should post what city you're in/near in CA... It's a big state and maybe someone is nearby can give you hand troubleshooting your charging problem... It's worth a shot... BUT... I'm in CA right now and have been all over this state and I'm finding out that the majority of CA bikers aren't very friendly
  23. Hey Pops the RSV fairing is alot more complicated than it looks... there's metal framework in there and the headlight is different and I think it would be way too much work... You're better off buying an aftermarket Batwing (Harley style) fairing and get a sound system with it and some will even use the windshield mounts you already have... Like this Quadzilla... http://hoppeindustries.com/store/images/royal_star_tour_deluxe_quadzilla_catalog_full.jpg http://hoppeindustries.com/store/quadzilla-fairing-royal-star-tour-deluxe-p-37.html
  24. She might come back after a day or two probably pregnant... Put some food outside.. You shoulda got her fixed...
  25. I left Belfast, ME on Friday night heading to Houston, Tx and stopped in Laconia, NH for a couple of hours and rode around NYC and went out Scranton, PA way and checked into a motel just south of Birmingham, AL Sat. night... About 1520 miles... I got up the next morning and got to Houston Sun night with a little cruize through Nawlins... 2202 miles in 2 days... That was a couple of years ago and I used to be a truck driver and can eat up some miles when I need to... I'm gonna hafta haul some ass to make Leesburg, FL Bikefest... If I stay on schedule I'll finish up in Victorville, CA this Wed afternoon and Bikefest starts Friday.. It's 2502 miles to my Bro's house in Kissimmee... I'm gonna run I-40 over to Amarillo and drop down 287 into Dallas and I-20... Then I'll drop down out of Shreveport on I-49 to I-10 then I-75.. I'm going this way cuz I went the other way on the way out to CA... The only backtacking I'll be doing is Dallas to Shreveport and I-75 in FL... I'll letcha know how I make out..
