Hi Pete.. 50 year old Fat Guy here.. 6'3" 300 34" inseam.. I have done 2000 miles in 2 days flat solo pulling a trailer... a 7000 mile trip 2 up w/trailer.. This is the most comfortable Big Man Luxury Tourer out there... I consider the GW and the BMW K1200 Standard Touring Bikes and the RSV is a Touring Cruiser along with H-D Electra, Ultra, and Road Glides and the new Victory Vision Tour... The distiction is the style and foot position.. The Cruisers have Floorboards out in front of the rider... Standards have pegs under the rider. I can't ride any distance with my feet under me anymore and the RSV has more legroom than any of the Harleys or the Vic. If you want more sources check these sites out: The Venturers Motorcycle Club This a pay site with a free trial _Royal Star Riders - V-Fours Rock!_ on Delphi Forums Royal Star Venture and Tour Deluxe on Delphi Forums

I'm no physics major but it's like a segway in concept only.. A segway the rider is between the wheels and weight is below the axle not on top of it.. Another reason for my skepticism is no video just a lot of stills. Hey what the hell do I know.. When cassettes 1st came out I said these things will never go, you gotta take the tape out and flip it over to play the other side... All I do with my 8-Track is hit the button.

That thing will never see the street... Stunt cycle that's all that is... No way that thing could be made to safe enough for the street... Like ECK said "Makes me wonder what REALLY happens when you hit the brakes real hard.... " You eat pavement that's what happens... It's the opposite of those wheelie bikes with no front forks. That kid riding it is probably a stunt rider.

When it comes to RSVs Yamaha does some strange stuff... Dealer in Newport, ME didn't sell the 2007 they got and Yammie sends them 2 2008s.. I think there doin something wierd with the options too... I think they had a silver one with chrome forks

Don't let the tank emblem stop you from buying a bike.. The seller probably has the emblems... I'm taking mine off when I buy some flaming skull decalls to go in it's place.

Installing factory passing lamps
MAINEAC replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If you didn't use a relay that's your problem.. The power outlet is a 5 AMP circuit I believe.. Man I'm surprised they even work off that circuit.. I blew that fuse using a little air compressor.. Do yourself a favor and run a relay... But normally the "sealed beam" RSV passing lamps are not that bright... That's why I got the Roadliner Passing Lamps that use a H3 replacable bulb. .. But I screwed those up by overtightening the light ring and when I hit a bump both lenses cracked... I just ordered these off ebay for $68.45 shipped. http://i20.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/a6/b1/4f30_1.JPG -
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow I'm drunk and dirty don't ya know, and I'm still, willin' Out on the road late at night, Seen my pretty Alice in every head light Alice, Dallas Alice I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonapah Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed And if you give me: weed, whites, and wine and you show me a sign I'll be willin', to be movin'

I really like the D 404s and have gone through 4 or 5 sets... right now I have the Avon Venoms with the smaller size up front on my RSV because of everything I've read about them... It doesn't look like I'm gonna get any more mileage out of the Avons and I think the smaller size front tire benefits are way overrated and don't feel real confident in the rain with the Avons. I will be going back to the D404s when the Avons wear out and I don't consider them to be a "bargain" or "cheap" tire just because they cost less than some of the tires they out perform. I've used and abused D404s ... two up, overloaded, pulling a 300 lb.trailer running 80 - 90 MPH in the TX and FL heat and they have never given me a problem... They are an inexpensive tire compaired to some but they ain't cheap.

Help!!!!! - No Power
MAINEAC replied to StarRider07's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The location of the main fuse is in my 2003 RSV Owner's Manual -
Make sure the CB isn't on... push the CB button to turn on then hit it again holding it until the yellow light goes out.

Anyone know where to get replacement screws?
MAINEAC replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Not sure which screws your talking about.. If your stripping out allen head screws maybe your allen wrenches are SAE and not Metric. Just about every screw is available from Yamaha by using the Parts Fiche you can get part numbers for every screw on your bike. http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/2/Yamaha.aspx -
I've got the Piggybacker 8" wheels and have over 10K miles with no problems.. the 12" PB has tortion bar suspension and is supposed to be quieter than my leaf springs. but for $650 my Piggy has served me well.

I wanted chrome rider floorboard covers to match my Yamaha Chrome Passenger floorboards but I am too cheap to spend 200+ on the Yamaha's covers. I noticed that Yamaha's covers fit V-Stars, Road Stars, and Royal Stars and Kuryakin only lists the V-Star and Road Star. I decided to take a chance and bought the V-Star covers on ebay for $79.95 shipped and guess what they fit. Here's the guy I bought mine from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140156430541&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004 For some reason he has the Road Star listings for a little more money but they're the same boards.
