  1. IMO AVONS ARE WAY OVERRATED!!! I listened to all the hoopla about these Avons so I tried them.. 7500 miles and the rear is pooched.. It's about to show cords down the middle. I rode these 95% 1 up 2000 with trailer. 45 - 48 lbs. Not to mention they suck in the rain. I'm not blaming anyone here... I blame myself.. I wanted more mileage out of my tires.. I should have relized something was askew when a lot of the people talking up the Avons were slamming the Dunlop 404s.. I Like the 404s... I just wanted more than the 7 - 12K miles they last.. I guess I'll stick with Dunlop and try the E-3s next... Live and Learn
  2. Not sure what lobster rolls you been eatin Gig but that's what they look like.. Not too much mayo and no lettuce in mine thank you.
  3. Lobster roll works. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/foodhoe/july07/ls_lobstahroll.jpg
  4. My Buddy just got 1 in his shop for repair... It's been sitting in a barn on an island and has less than 3000 miles... It's like brand new and has the 6cyl engine... My buddys gott clean the carbs, change battery and fluids.. The owner hasn't ridden it in years but wants to start riding again because of gas prices.
  5. gibvel sounds like you're talking about a catylytic converter... I don't think there's any burning in our pipes going on... EXCEPT the guys with the backfiring issues..
  6. Not really sure what the layout is in the Antique Ventures tailight bezel but Construction Foil Tape.. the kind where you peel the backing paper off or some chrome rocker panel tape might work easier.
  7. Goose I think you have the wrong idea on this AIS thing... The way I understand it is the AIS just adds air to the exhaust gas to dilute it to get by the emmissions testing... like adding water to a shot of Whiskey... You're still drinking a shot just diluted with water.. The same amount of polutants is coming out of the tailpipes whether the AIS is hooked up or plugged.. The AIS just dilutes it for emmisions testing... Plugging the AIS does not add polutants to the enviroment.
  8. That thing has been on ebay off and on for months... No takers I guess.
  9. I didn't see it Goose or maybe the name didn't register... they got like 5 different names going there and I found out by accident that there Phone orders are cheaper than their website prices... I checked their accessories and they show MSRP maybe you gotta call for a discount on accessories. I think the other post was about accessories... I know it's semantics but there is a difference... I just went threw the difference with a couple of Venturers. They saw fit to plug Buckeye Perf. in my Cheap Parts Thread.
  10. I just checked the Yamaha accessories and they look like MSRP pricing no deals there... unless they discount phone orders..
  11. Thanks Gig but I didn't start this thread to slam So. Seattle they have been pretty good to me and were the cheapest I had found. What do you think of this Carolina Cycle?
  12. I have been using So. Seattle for parts cuz they were the cheapest... But my last shipment took over 3 weeks and included a couple of unanswered e-mails.. Their site was down yesterday and I did some poking around and heard of some grumbling that they might be in financial trouble... I don't want to start rumors here just watch out if you use them. Well I need a regulator and started shopping around and found a place that beat most by $30.00 and So. Seattle by 10... $47 for a regulator.. Well their site was messed up and wouldn't put the regulator in the shopping cart so I called them... I also was wondering about shipping.. Some vendors pad the shipping to make their cheap prices not so cheap... Well it seems they have better prices over the phone and charge less for shipping on phone orders.. I ended up paying $44.00 with shipping came out to less than So. Seattle's unshipped price. So I would suggest getting your part numbers from their website and calling the order in to their 800#. I'll let you know on shipping... they said 6-7 days. If anyone else has used them please reply to this thread. http://www.carolinacycle.com/default.asp
  13. You're welcome Bud... Not too bad of a price either.

  15. Considering the so called weight limit for the RSV is like 420lbs... I would run max air in my tires and suspension 7#s in front 55# in back and the max or close to it on the sidewalls of your tires... Not the max air on the inside of your trunklid or manual.. Different tires run different pressures... VERY IMPORTANT.
