  1. I'm 7 miles from Belfast... The Mid-Coast area... 30 miles south of Bangor... 45 miles East of Augusta... If you take the Cat to Bar Harbor I'm 1 1/2 hours West of there... Gimme a shout when you're coming through the neighborhood or if you need a place to crash... If your not comfortable with that my daughter works at the Comfort Inn and suposedly gets a healthy family discount... You might have to be the long lost Novie Uncle Seaking, but it beats $100+ a night and it's the best Motel in the area... my numbers in the Assistant list and I think my profile or you can P.M. me... I never see any members here... there's like 8 guys listed in Maine and none are really active except me... I've met a few guys in FL and TX... with the ambasidor (LA Pryor) being the only I met in both states... that Whippersnapper gets around... It's like I gotta go 1500 - 2000 miles to meet VRs... Hope we can hook up
  2. The 50 K was using several sets of tires... But they were such an improvement over the original Bridgestones I really liked them and dug the http://WWW... I got between 15k and 7500 on the 404s... I just tried my 1st set of Avons and got 7500 mostly 1 up and some trailering and some people are claiming 22K out of them and most people love them but I won't be buying them again... I'm going to the Dark Side with a car tire in back and maybe a Dunlop E-3 Radial up front.
  3. 100 W??? We're talking about a 1157 bulb not the reading lamp parked next your Lazy Bastid Recliner
  4. I got 50,000 miles on 404s and IMO they are better than Avons... I got better mileage and I think they handle well and I've pushed them to extreme use riding 2 up pulling a trailer without so much as a flat... I think they are very underated because they're "OEM" speced tire and are reasonably priced..

  6. FYI - In Maine it is legal to pass with a double yellow solid and may be legal in other States as well... BUT you can be cited for unsafe passing in some situations and places where there are "No Passing" white signs it is illegal... I think this is in place because of slow moving trucks, farm equipment, RVs, etc. ... Yellow lines are treated like orange sign speed limits, just suggestions.
  7. Those deflectors come factory stock on a RSV... I took mine off cuz IMO they look cheezy and just clutter up the front end... Besides I have a midnight and it covered up my chrome front end... On the lights... I'd be surprised if those 5 1/2" sealed beams put out more light than those 4" H-3s and IMO they look too big... Might be a little overkill there Buddy
  8. Hey LA get yer sh1t together and we'll see ya in the wind... Doors always open here when you make it this way...

  11. I usually spend about 40 bucks a month on Bike Rags and Motorcyclist usually isn't one of them... Too many sport bike stuff and all the Ducati, Aprilla, amd BMW stuff doesn't interest me... I only buy it if it has something that catches my eye... I'm used to the RSV Faux pas' when they don't even get mentioned in Rags while discussing the Luxury Tourer Class... Who cares Motorcyclist sux IMO
  12. It doesn't sound like a battery issue... battery's don't recharge by themselves... It sounds like your ignition switch... If it happens again try switching the key off and on and see if anything lights up.
  13. No Jeff I have the Kumho Powerstar 758 165/80-15.. My tire guy hasn't mounted it yet and when I get it I will let you know... Right now I have a tweaked knee and am hobbling around on crutches... I go to the Dr's tomorow. http://www.carreview.com/channels/carreview/images/products/product_404521.jpg
  14. If you want to blow $75.00+ buy the fancy shmancy isolator... But if you want to get something that works (over 10K on my bike plus lighting up my skull eyes) Go to Autozone and get a "universal 5 to 4 wire Hoppy converter" for $9 - $15
  15. That's the lightbar you want... NOT the passing lamps... IMO those "sealed beam" passing lamps are like duct taping a couple of flashlights on your forks...
  16. I don't think it's a GW thing... More likely a MA NY thing... I find riders on all brands are not as friendly as in more rural areas..
  17. IMO the NGK Iridium plugs are worth the extra few $s... I've noticed a change in performance going both ways... For example Ok a change to new plugs some will say just changing to new will increase performance... Valid point... but last year in TX I thought I lost a plug and I had a bike shop swap my plugs and I was still on 3 cyls... It needed a coil.. they swapped the coil and when I got the bike back it didn't have the same zip because they used regular NGKs... I've been sold on Iridiums ever since.
  18. Ok 1st Pitbull what rock have you been hiding under?? just kidding... we've been talking about this for a while... I like it and it has some really cool features like power adjustible windshield, all hand and foot controls are adjustible... And it looks real cool with the trunk off... which comes off real easy... I test rode one at Daytona... It doesn't have as much legroom as the RSV and is closer to an Ultra Glide but hiway pegs would fix that for most riders... My wife said it wasn't as comfortable as my RSV.. The limited storage issue is way overblown as the numbers are close to a RSV.
  19. What did you use for lube dish soap?
  20. On the Delph Dark Side Forum some people are reporting "exploding tires"... Anyone have any problems mounting their CT? How much pressure did it take to pop the bead? I told my Buddy not to use more than 80 lbs... It seems most of the explodes have happened over 100 lbs although 1 user claims his happened at less than 100... There is some that are saying it only happens to the Japanese Tires... But I think that's some people's opinion.. Be careful mounting these tires as an explosion will ruin your wheel and rotor not to mention what it could do to a person too close... Noone is reporting any personal injuries as of yet. http://forums.delphiforums.com/DarkSiding/messages?msg=295.1
  21. I don't think you'd get too far on my POS Avon... But if you must try send me $80.00 for shipping and you can have it..
  22. I recommend the Yamaha Light bar but not the Royal star Venture Lamps... The RSV lamps are sealed beam units and do not give off much light compared with the Halogen H-3 type lamps IMHO... The V-Star or Road Star or Stratoliner Lamps will work... I tried the Strat Lamps and switched to the Tri-Bar lights which are like the V-Star lamps. All that being said the H-3s do burn more juice unless you can find H-3 35W bulbs most are 55W and the Sealed Beam Lamps are 30W..
  23. Glad it worked out for you Al... I had mine replaced under warranty with a factory replacement and had similar results... I knew the old shock was gone because it was covered in oil but didn't relize how bad it was until I had it replaced and it rode so much better... I guess when they go it happens slowly over time.
  24. hey Greg I thought there was a London Taxi Tire that would fit... I forget the size but they're not sold here in the US.
  25. Sorry I forgot to post the link to the website... Bloomburg is credible tho..
