Whats the best Luggage rack for my RSV
MAINEAC replied to BLUERIDGEBORN's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I like this one but I wouldn't pay $300+ for it... http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/prodimages/2017.JPG [/url]http://www.americanmotorcycleaccessories.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMA2018 -
I am gonna go with a radial front to mate with my Radial CT rear... Avon, Dunlop, and Bridgestone make them in our size... We have the same size front tire as the 2000 Vulcan...
-
I thought about going with a wide Tombstone but I don't think it would cover all the holes in the fender left when you remove the stock tailight... So I went with the Smoked lens with the LED board too.
-
I'm running a Car Tire radial in the rear and when my front Avon wears out I'm going to a radial front... The Vulcan 2000 runs the same size front tire as the RSV but it has Radials.. I'm considering a Bridgestone Radial... The Gold Wingers love the Bridgestone Radials... I guess they're better than their Bias Ply.

Yo Brian you Dog... whatcha do stay for a little extry... C'mon Man when you got some time you gotta give us more than the Pig shoots Angel thing... I already heard all about that... And I hope you got pics.. Before anyone get's carried away with the shooting it seems these guys have a little history and know each other and it was more a Seattle thing than a Sturgis thing... They just happened to see each other at Sturgis.

The Stebel is rated at 139 Dbs... I think the Bad Boy is 119... I could be wrong tho...

Don your "sun" is a little stronger than ours... My bike guy used dish soap and couldn't get it... the Tire Warehouse guy used tire lube... I know cuz I had to clean it off... I told him not to go over 100 lbs cuz of the reports on Delphi of the Japanese tires exploding over 100 Don it seems to be a OEM tire for a Kawi Vulcan 2000 and it looks like the Avon is cheaper than the Dunlop... I had bad luck with the Avon Bias tires so I might get the Dunlops 150/80R16 71VBW3367-913.5025.355.595/32760 @ 40 Dunlop D-251 or AV71/AV72 COBRA RADIALS Snakeskin sidewall treatment complements the Cobra logo and tread design; a truly unique custom look. Fits everything from Valkyries to Customs. Advanced Variable Belt Density (A-VBD) rear construction uses a densely wrapped belt in the center of the tire for stability, wear and mileage; the belt is less dense on the shoulder for a huge, compliant contact patch. Lifetime Profile Engineering (LPE) for consistent handling and stability for the full life of the tire. Enhanced Aqua Flow (EAF) tread pattern gives optimal water dispersal. Enhanced Stability System (ESS) design reduces tire flex for improved grip and stability. H-rated for speeds up to 130 mph; V-rated for speeds up to 149 mph, or W-rated for speeds up to 168+ mph. All radial except for 21" front. http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/images/av71av72cobra.gif Product Name Price Buy Now AVON AV71 COBRA 150/80R-16 FRONT $138.36 http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/templates/0112/images/buttons/english/button_buy_now.gifhttp://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_120_137_587&products_id=1591

If you live in North America you're close enough for Ol' LA to come visitin

I see Ol' LA has been tellin lies again and throwin me under the bus... He likes to sneak up on ya... He called me when he was 4 miles from my house and mumbled somethin about no cell service... He mentioned about 5 people he "might" visit between NS and the PIP and didn't say for sure.... He's like "The Shadow" ... "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!"

I finally got my bike back Thursday night... I got home Wed. from Florida and my bro got the stator installed but couldn't get the tire mounted using less than 100 lbs of air... he aired it up like 20 times and tried bouncing it and banging it then dropped it off at Tire Warehouse and they got it mounted 3 hours later and didn't charge anything.. Well I started out with 32 lbs of air but I had a wiggle under hard acceleration in 3rd gear... and I was getting a wobble at 85-90 mph... It feels kinda squishy and not as sure footed in the curves... I upped the air to 40 lbs and the wiggle is gone and feels alot more sure footed in the curves... I rode out to Blue Hill, Brooklin, Deer Isle, Stonington.... Plenty of curves... I didn't get up to 85 so I'm not sure of the wobble... LA stopped by on his way to Nova Scotia and he said the CT will bring out any problems with the bike... I'm hopeing the air pressure straightens it out... If not I'll adjust my steering head then check swingarm bushings. I don't have ant pictures yet and have about 900 miles on the CT... will update when I got something else

I don't know jack about PCW... That being said I have been using Barnett Clutches since the 70s and when I needed a clutch I went with what I know is a quality product... The clutch pull is a little stiffer at first but not noticible after a week or two. If you decide to go with Barnett you won't be sorry...

Ok I'll call you Al... Al you're wrong about Baggers they are not restricted to V-Twins and they even had a RSV rider and his lovely bride on a TD pictured in their Bike Week coverage... I forget if they were VRs or Venturers. You're right about American Bagger tho... I saw a RSV owner wrote them a letter asking about inclusion and they blew him off. The thing about Roadrunner is it's all touring with sport tourers, sportbikes, and scooters... They very rarely have tourers or cruisers doing the touring or cruising... I think they should change the name it's false avertising

Snarley Bill I'm with ya on this one and I've never owned a sport bike... I didn't look at the whole issue as Sport Bikes vs. Cruisers like some here did... I saw it as a anti-motorcycle laws and I stand by my opinion that if this goes through more Bikers are going to get killed and possibly Cops if some of those Bikers are packing heat...

I had the deleted post... For the record Don... I was writing my post while you were posting yours... I did not see yours until after I posted mine... Mine came after yours so it looked like I disregarded your post... That was not the case...

No not necessary... But somebody could say that about every comment on this website.. For instance... In reference to your comment... Was this comment really necessary? See what I mean?

So let me get this straight... some kid on his 750 Gixxer poppin a wheelie is somehow making you on your Geezer Glide look like a scumbag to the cagers... You gotta be kiddin right??? There are already laws against this kinda stuff... Increasing the fines and penalties to an outrageous level is going to get more bikers killed in more high speed chases.. FLA made a good move in requiring new riders to take a Motorcycle Saftey Course... But this BS is one step forward , two steps back First they came for the Jews, but I did nothing because I'm not a Jew. Then they came for the socialists, but I did nothing because I'm not a socialist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I did nothing because I'm not a Catholic. Finally, they came for me, but by then there was no one left to help me. – Pastor Father Niemoller (1946)
-
Bottom Line... They raise the stakes for infractions and they're going to have more high speed chases and more accidents and more deaths..

No I haven't pulled the plugs... But it only does it on take off and when I get on it it doesn't ping but does bog a little then pulls pretty smooth but not as strong as it should... I don't think it's carbon... I did put Premium in it and a full can of Sea Foam and it still does it.. When I ran the old gas it would barely run and stalled out at every light and had to have the choke on to run and was sputtering... Pobably did foul a plug or 2..

I'm down here in Kissimmee visiting my Bro Hulk who's in Oceola Medical Center recovering from a Triple Valve job on his heart... He's a former Member here who's not real PC or WWW savy and seldom posted... I've been riding his 2000 RSV around which has been siting since Bike Week and had old gas in it... I've run a couple of cans of Sea Foam through it and now have new gas in it and it is running better but... I have to drag the clutch a little and over rev it a little to get it to take off from a stop without knocking/pinging... Could this be a syncing problem... It sometimes pings when reving in neutral.. He has never had the carbs synced and I'd like to fix it for him so it'll be ready to roll when he recovers... I'm down here until Wed. unless the hurricane changes our flight plans. Anybody got any ideas??

I got one of these on ebay for $10... the seller listed it as a brake cover but the poor picture showed the switch wrapped in plastic... I took a chance and scored. http://www.bigbikeparts.com/Inventory/Navision/52-605?catalogNo=1 http://www.bigbikeparts.com/images/productimages/52-605.jpg

the little girl is a talented living doll and seems very grounded and I hope her inevitable rise to fame doesn't screw her up for life... fortunately I have over 150 channels and never have to watch those kind of shows because that puke Simon has ruined those type of shows for me... Here's a link to simon Cowturd's best 2 minutes on TV... http://www.evtv1.com/player.aspx?itemnum=799&aid= Her's the best bit on American Idol...
