Handle Bar Risers
GG54172 replied to midnightsunrider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Anyway to stiffen up the mounts? My bike came with the handlebar risers and the handlebars seem a little sloppy. -
John Deere does. (Construction and Forestry anyways) Customers who spend $300,000+ on a piece of machinery sure are damn picky....

Name of Restaurant Bankok Cusine Street Address 2149 15 Mile Rd City Sterling Heights State or Province MI Website (Optional) http://www.rexysbangkokcuisines.com/ Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Good Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Thai (Spicy Asian) Alcohol Served? No Additional Comments Causual dining at one of the top rated Detroit Resturants. Lunches cost about 9 dollars. Dinners cost around 11 with a very large portion. While I worked in Warren, MI I would visit this resturant for lunch on a weekly basis, and I get take out every time I visit my in-laws. To select a meal, find a dish that has the vegitables you like and then choose between beef, chicken, pork, or seafood. BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING YOUR LEVEL OF SPICY. This isn't mexican, order mild or "no spice" if you like to be able to finish your plate. Medium is like the hottest mexican you will find. Good luck finishing a "Hot" dish. My favorite dish was "Chicken Pad Pak". Broccoli, pea pods, bamboo, bean sprouts, carrots, celery, and chicken served with a spicy brown sauce. Next would be the traditional "Chicken Pad Thai". THis is an american favorite for Thai food. Bean sprouts, rice noodles, veggies, with a real lite sweet sauce. My wife's favorite was "Sarm Sahai" with shrimp. Has a much sweeter white sauce.

RSV Stator - Buckeye vs Hotshot
GG54172 replied to roadrider01's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
have bought parts from Rick's Motorcycle electronics for my 83 Nighthawk 750 and I was very pleased with the service. Friend's of mine have bought nighthawk stuff from him as well. That being said, I do not know of anyone who has purchased a RSV stator from ricks. But it would be the first place I look if I ever needed an electrical part for any of my bikes. The output of the stator is determined by the number of windings in the coils. In reality, one stator will produce more voltage at a set rpm than another. The voltage comes out as an alternating sine wave and is rectified blah blah blah Bottom line, call both companies and ask them how many turns of wire are on each coil of the stator. If they both have the same number of turns the output will be the same. If one has more turns than the other the one with higher turns will have more output. However, this does not mean that down stream electrical components (like the rectifier and voltage regulator) are designed to handle this increase. Food for thought. -
Good time to buy a morgan Carbtune
GG54172 replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I do not know whether morgan carbtunes leak or not, but your statement is completely false. A vacuum on one side of an object can lift an object. So long as the difference in pressure, multiplied by the surface area of the pressure is higher than the mass of the object. So, take a 10lb bowling ball, touch a 1.5" vacuum hose to the ball. It will take 10lbs/(pi*(0.75"^2))=5.659psi of vacuum to lift the bowling ball. Or if you have a typical household vacuum that can create 1/2psi of vacuum it will take 20 square inches or just little bit larger than a 2.5" hose to lift that same bowling ball. Take that same vacuum, a system that doesnt leak, and a large enough surface area and you can lift tons. Need another example? I have a thermometer hanging on my front window with a suction cup. Using vacuum only, that thermometer defies gravity all year long. -

Progressive billed me for $205 annual on my 01 RSV. Full coverage, no uninsured/underinsured, I use my own medical.
-
Yes, insurance companies have "proven" that rate of claims can be tied to the credit rating of an induvidual. There are lies, damned lies, and then there are statistics. - Mark Twain The answer is obvious, shop around and do it annually.
-
I get an GMI alumni discount from Liberty Mutual. However, I would guess progressive, they seemed to have the best rates before I moved to Iowa. Shop around. I used to spend one friday morning annually shopping for all of my insurance needs. Michigan has some high insurance rates. I would call all of the major insurance companies and one or two independant agents. Takes three or four hours, but you can save several thousand dollars a year.

Had a similar situation a few months ago. Some kid hacked into a local retailer's website and stole a bunch of credit card info (including mine). Rather than go on a spending spree, the kid bought a bunch of porn and had it shipped to the respective card holder's home. I got home from work one day and my wife said, "Your movies are here." Called the CC company and canceled the charges, filed a report with the county sheriff. On a good note, my wife let me keep the Playboy Magazine subscription.

Motorcycle Safety Classes - Illinois Residents
GG54172 replied to Cerviperus's topic in Watering Hole
I have not seen the DVD, but I would be willing to bet that the DVD teaches a lot of the same topics as MSF, and in the same way. That being said, there is a psychological theory that says you do not learn something the first time you are taught. It actually takes multiple lessons to learn something dificult. This may explain why I nearly failed freshman physics in college, but ended up on dean's list and tutoring physics as an upper classman. I say, buy the DVD, watch it, go to MSF and keep an open mind. The DVD will be reinforced by the MSF course. For the few (minor) areas where the DVD and MSF conflict, will give you the opportunity to ask good questions, enabling you to learn even more. -

Me too, and if everything pans out the way I want it to, I will get paid to attend! At least it will cover oil changes and minor maintenance:thumbsup:
