  3. Thanks for sharing. Very nice thing you got going on. Bill
  4. Just a thought, If the pump is weak and pulls too many amps, this will / can cause heat build up at the pump and the wire insulation will get brittle and crack...Be your own judge. Plain old silicone sealer can seal the gaps in the insulation. If the silicone is exposed to the fuel it will break down. Good Luck, Bill

    Holy Crap

I can relate, My ex wife and my 16 year old son are type 1 diabetics. Both brittle and both on the pump. Go at it slow and steady as the turtle always wins in the long term. Best of luck, Bill

    Sturgis 2014!

Hey Brian, Long time since we visited. I have also gotten reservations at Glencoe camp ground. This will be my first trip to Sturgis. Looking forward to it. Bill:cool10:
  7. I left the Samson side dump mufflers for the stock HD ultra classic. Quiet and I can hear my radio at 70. Win win. Good luck Bill
  8. My thoughts are with you. Maybe this is the prep time to polish your resume and find a new opportunity around the corner. NEVER , NEVER, NEVER quit. Amen Bill
  9. I had leather tassels on my clutch and brake lever and the wind force was enough to kick the cruise out. Drove me nuts for a while. Too simple. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  10. Yea what he said. One on each side for the 2000 RSV. Bill
  11. Yup, had one peel the edges up on me. Heard a slap-slap-slap as I cornered and behold the edges were peeling up. I replaced it before it chunked apart. Not so uncommon on the metzlers. I did get over 16,000 miles on a roadstar rear metzler once, ran several, only had one go bad. Thank you Lord no one was hurt. Keep going Puc. Bill
  12. can of carb cleaner can clean up the ugliest of messes. It can smooth things out when they are a bit rough. Met a rural postal carrier that used it on dogs as she was not allowed to use pepper spray on the job.
  13. Wow, I went through Roswell Sunday about noon, going home from a weekend in Ruidoso. We may have passed each other and never new it. oh well, happy trails yall. Have fun. Catch you next time Bill
  14. I used sand paper to smooth out both surfaces and they slid into place fine with no stretching. Bill
  15. Notice the thefts are noted in percent. I agree on the above comments, however if Harley out sells everything 4 to 1 or whatever ratio it is then the 8 percent shown is not a representative of the actual number of bikes stolen. if 10 metric bikes are sold for every 100 Harleys(or whatever ratio) then Honda would loose 2 bikes and Harley would loose 8 bikes, or something like that. Bill
  16. Sounds like somewhere close to San Angelo area. Have lots of fluids my friend, it's a warm one out today. Best of luck to you. Bill
  17. Keep it simple...as headlights age they can become dimmer with time. Try a bulb first. Bill
  18. They will fit. Need 2 P-style clamps from Lowes or home depot for rear support brackets(clamp around the saddle bag support bracket)one on each side, the exhaust/header clamps will have about a 3/4 inch space that is not chromed---e-bay sells an extra wide clamp to fill the gap if it bothers you. Good Luck Bill
  19. Uh...250 miles west of San Antonio...that's Old Mexico:no-no-no:. San Antonio is about an hour from Del Rio, that borders Acunia,Mexico. Might better check that good ole map again. Well, maybe this is your chosen route. best of luck to you. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  20. Hey Puc, I'm in the Tx panhandle too, just outside Lubbock. If you need a place to pitch your tent, stretch or whatever, let me know. Happy for yall on your trip. Have fun Call if I can do anything for you. Bill 806-441-9095
  21. Nice, send some our way, were in a drought. Bill
  22. Go to your local muffler shop and get them to flair a peace of same size exhaust tubing to slide over the effected area and clamp it on where your pipe is still good. that may be a cost effective alternative. good luck. Bill
  23. Summer is here....99 degrees yesterday ...95 today...This weather makes for soggy butt syndrome. At least the wind is a better than last weeks 60 mph winds and low visibility and sand storms. I think spring has missed us. At least you have moisture. Drought conditions not so good around here. Every day is a good one, just, some are better than others. Bill
  24. I used the p clamps too. no issues. Got them at Lowes by the bolt bin hardware. Harley pipe fit right on and quiet as compared to the Samson turn outs I had. Good luck. Bill
  25. No major problem, nothing broke, nothing injured (besides the rod that secures the stand) Lots of great ideas here. I like just jacking the bike up, each corner one at a time, block the wheel up with lumber(multible 2x products) when bike is up and level, remove the stand and damaged rod, let the bike down one corner at a time. take your time and be careful. Bill
