We catch up and ride with him a couple times a year, we rode Fort Davis in October and his back was bothering him then too. He is in our prayers for fast recovery, and hope to cross his path and yours again soon. We saw his post this morning on face book this morning also. Thanks for mentioning this on VR as many now can wish him well. Bill

Hey TJ, Something I noticed. You mentioned comprehensive coverage and Medicare. Medicare is a government health insurance program primarily for those 65 and older, there is no " comprehensive" in this coverage. Comp is a Property and Casualty(p&c) term. We may be talking about two totally different coverages. From what Puc has said, your agents may be speaking of the no-fault fund in your state and its rules specific for your state and its fund. This would be totally separate from Medicare with a supplement. Bill

I remember when you had your accident, when they are yours, they are very personal. About the bike, There are many, many more bikes out there waiting for you to take them on that nice country road in the early spring, watching the trees bud out and the flowers bloom. There are many more rides left to take from here. Best of luck Bill

Hey TJ, Don't call it quits.. This is how we grow to understand something that we are not comfortable with. This is why I put my resource contact information, so that if you are not satisfied with my answers, then follow my trail, and confirm the answers that I provided. If you call a p&c agent , they may not be at all educated with the Life and Health side of insurance. Don't let the snow get you down. Weather is going to be nice here this week, maybe able to get a ride in here or there. Bill

Ok guys, I am an Insurance agent for over 20 years. I've never personally heard of such a thing as you describe. I pulled out a Medicare supplement outline of coverage, went through it, nothing about not covering a motorcycle related injury reguardless. I wet to Medicare.gov website, nothing there either. I called 1-800-medicare and spent over half an hour with them looking and asking very specific questions about what you describe, nothing there either. So here goes my attempt to explain how Medicare works. Part A- Hospital coverage Part B- Dr office coverage If a physician orders it and does a medically necessary procedure, reguardless motorcycle related or not, its covered. Does not mater at the Dr office or the Hospital. Now as for your supplement---, as for the traditional supplements , Plan A through Plan N, if medicare approves an expence, it is covered under the terms of your supplement(different supplements have different levels of coverage) Plans F and G are most common around here. So call 1-800-medicare and follow up on my research as I do not see where a bike wreck cannot be covered for medically necessary procedures. The medical expence policies you refer to were designed to get around state laws requiring health insurance in minimum amounts to satisify state laws. As for trailer coverage, trailers have never on any vehicle carried over any coverage except liability form the tow vehicle, unless you were not the owner of said trailer. My two cents Bill

Yes, get better. Heck, these bikes are mass produced and there are lots and lots of them out there. I try to keep one for one or two years and get it just the way I like it and then, go and trade for something else. Then fix it up and repeat the process. Yes you need to stay and hang around a while.

Be sure that a float is not stuck and seeping fuel into the cylinder. This will not leave a puddle, however I had a RSTD do this and I hydro locked that sucker and bent a rod. Instant engine knock. poor experience. Check your oil and be sure that no fuel is in it, just for peace of mind. Bill

The entrance Bluesky referred to is the Garner entrance, it has the Roosevelt Arch there. We camped at Indian Creek camp ground last year.(down the road from mammoth a few miles) This Natl park is much larger than I ever imagined, give yourself plenty of time to see it. Mammoth to Old faithful was about an hour and a half ride. This was August and it was cold and rainy on the way out, Another two hours to the Cody entrance. This place is awesome...like a Disney movie on steroids. Very nice, I want to go back Bill

I think that is more for the family. The Bible teaches that when we are absent from the body, we are present with Christ. Mr Standly is already home. The display looks cool, IMHO no need to bury anything of value. Our bodies are like a milk carton, once all the milk is gone, here lies an empty carton.

I wonder if it has a cassette player?

Best wishes and a speedy recovery to you. You will find that hi-top basketball shoes do offer some support that will be needed. May your discomfort be minimal and your recover swift. Bill

RSV Clutch not working after sitting for a few weeks
jakester replied to YamahaLarry's topic in Watering Hole
I put the kickstand on a 2x4 or just put it on a bike jack to get it level. Bleeding the clutch is quick and easy. The darker the fluid means it is absorbing moisture from the air, this will make the clutch fade away also. I agree with Puc on the adding of the fluid and pump the lever, that is half way or better, to bleed the clutch and flush the system. Bill -
My memory tells me that dodge used to put a non adjustable ball joint in from the factory , as opposed to one that is off center and rotates (off center cam) as to push the spindle in and out for alignment purposes. This may be what is needed just to get an alignment done, not that the joints were worn out, only non adjustable. Best of luck. Bill

Polls and results...weldin , I will speak for myself. There are not too many bikes out there that I don't like. So many that I haven't tried yet. I think I like them all... I think that I want to try them all... I do not know how to put that in a poll. Maybe we all need to take a nice long therapy session/ride. That sure seems to settle me down a bit. I would like to wish everybody a nice, restful, safe thanksgiving. GOD Bless us all.. Bill

A few days ago I saw an ad on craigs list for a 2008 Goldwing. I didn't think it was correct as it was about half price. Soo I emailed it...no reply. Next day it was still there, soo I emailed it again, still no reply. I figured it has to be fake. I went ahead and googled a number of the location. It was at Midland powersports, about 110 miles away. Soo I jumped on the venture and went to check it out. Next thing you know we made a deal on the 08 level one Goldwing with 26k miles. Midland Powersports now owns a well traveled 2003 venture with 70k miles. I now have a wing with minor cosmetic issues, to be my project over this winter. There will be a few venture left overs on the classifieds soon. That was my fourth venture/ sixth Yamaha, now second Honda( first street bike was a cb450 dohc 1970 model) So, hats off to many more miles and friends yet to come on the next bike I now own. Thanks Bill

Enchanted Circle Ride " A blessing on two wheels"
jakester replied to Chaplain Dusty's topic in Watering Hole
Hey Chaplin, I was looking at a Goldwing that had stripes and names on the trunk, I was told that if I did not like any of the additional pinstripe work , that oven cleaner would remove it without harming the paint. I have not tested this theory, however he was pretty" matter of fact" about it. Good Luck Bill -
Enchanted Circle Ride " A blessing on two wheels"

Great pics, thanks for sharing. I was able to do that ride 3 weks ago, I missed the gorge bridge, it sure looks like going back for. Great fun. Bill -
Hey Rick, I color matched my midnight outer fairing. The chrome windshield strip, headlight ring, and lower wind deflectors(the ones connected to the fairing) all black, turned out very clean looking. I removed the two chrome sipes , put a fresh coat on the fairing too. Not much extra effort since our painting anyway... Good luck on your build. Bill

Sorry Bert, It went quick, after I mentioned I had one. Thanks anyway Bill

I used a solid copper wire to install mine, easy to work with and it never gave me any trouble. 12 gage I think.
