  1. Glad your back, let it get a bit warmer, my attitude gets much better after a nice ride. Spring is here before you know it. God Bless Bill
  2. That looks like a first gen knob?
  3. I will agree that under / un-insured motorist is a necessary addition to a liability policy. I have used it, it works. Try an independent agent, they can quote several companies. Bill
  4. Praying for the Doctors and their teams, as well as you both. Rest easy, recover well. Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  5. You will be right by the twisted sisters, Luckenbach is nice also, they should boast a few bluebonnets too. Looks like a great ride. Yes a nice time of year to visit. Bill
  6. Hey Brian, It is cold. I actually plugged in the battery tender yesterday because I may not be riding for another week or so. I've got one pair of insulated blue jeans that get worn every couple of years. I have worn them twice this year already. Saw an interview on Fox news, everybody was saying how cold it was til they came across a nice lady from Alaska, she said it was like a spring day....It is all in your perspective. Cold yes, disaster no. stay warm Bill
  7. Had Sampson fish tails, really liked them. Now have Sampson turn outs, bit louder than I like at highway speeds. I will find something different soon enough. Bill
  8. Your referring to the Obama administration, EPA had shut down the last lead smelter after they fulfilled all the federal Bullet contracts. Levied several million dollars worth of changes / fines. So another profitable business / industry shutting down. Stock up while you can. This is no joke. Bill
  9. Sorry to hear this. I too have had an episode or two, similar to this. I just feel violated when this happens. I could handle it much better if someone would man - up and look me in the eye and say sorry. Sounds like the parking at Tech. Bill
  10. Hey, for base layer cold weather clothing (long Johns) have you tried the military surplus polyethelene long underwear. I've had good luck with them, comfortable and cheap. Bill
  11. I have had a right index finger done in 1985, I cut it off, (workers comp) it is a good weather indicator. Also had both collar bone joints replaced where they meet the shoulder. Also good weather indicators. No knees or hips yet. I am only 49. Now , at the risk of sounding political, I am going to say for those of us in the states, geter done quick as obamacare is being paid for (40% to 50%) by cuts to medicare. That's right! The fed has to approve all procedures to seniors. The first stimulas package provided computers in all dr offices for procedural approval. I do not mean to be negative, It is what it is. Buckle down for the road trip cause it is gona get rough. I am an insurance agent. Nobody talks about how much business we are loosing to this mess. Bill

If the neighbor has home owners or renters insurance, the claim will go to their insurance on the liability side. FYI that is why we ask dog questions on the applications. Good Luck, and glad your ok. Bill
  13. I said good luck, but nobody heard me. I thought I had better write it out. best of luck. Bill
  14. Safety Chrome Looks great, Bill
  15. Congrats on the recovery of your stuff. Hope everything is returned and the thieves learn their lesson. For insurance try the farm mutual companies. ( Germania, RVOS, Hoheim(sp)), maybe these folks who regularly insure rural properties can help. Bill
  16. No refineries in the last 20+ years. EPA will not let it happen. Feds fuel mix requirements vary as per winter-summer-altitude-location. Regulations and such. Most (over half) of cost of fuel is TAX.
  17. Air wings, I think, wind wings, maybe. I have a set too ----They work well to increase flow when open(hot) or warm up when cool. Highly recommended. Bill
  18. Best of luck, and a speedy recovery. Prayers sent.
  19. I bought a salvage title f250 Harley Pickup in Kentucky (repaired) , brought it home, had it inspected, titled it in state, It reissued in Texas without the salvage brand. just FYI Bill
  20. I talked to my friends at wildfire motorcycles( where Brian got his ural) They told me Harley redeveloped the frame around 2010 (amongst other things), and it greatly improved handling and the new fatty back tire showed much greater longevity as well. This is all good in my book. Looking out for ya freebird ---:cool10:However the jokes are still funny.
  21. Hey ---he said he would not be doing that again---great learning curve.
  22. I have also bought branded, salvage title vehicles. the rule of thumb is they should cost about 60% of book value. The bank loaned me monies to buy the vehicles with money down and good credit. When you sell, expect about the same 60% of low side of the book. If you are going to ride it for a while, heck have some fun with your low buck toy, run the value out of it for a few years and turn it for another one. I usually buy in the fall and sell in the spring 12 to 24 months later for about what I paid. Your on the right track. Good luck! Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  23. This is up to you. That said, you be the judge...If it is new fresh antifreeze, in and out. If it is old, drain flush, clean then install. I have seen old auto mechanics drive an old leaky plug into the block of a car with the new plug. No evidence. I do not condone this, just said I have seen it done. I have not had to do this particular repair. some one else will chime in with their wisdom and knowledge any time.
  24. I do not believe there are any second chances on your rookie flight. Looks cool, watch out for the down draft, oops.
  25. I agree....cycle the key on and off to allow the fuel to be circulated into the carbs. This should work. Bill
