Got my IKEA white sheepskin on eBay, paid less than $20 including shipping. Looks and works great! I wouldn't think that all the effort of making one would be worth it if you can find one like mine for $20.....
-
My guess would be 1955 Chevy hood ornaments.

OH MY!!! A 2005 with a trailer included for $13500????? That is the deal of the YEAR!! If I only had the money it would be on it's way to Indiana.

Gonna go for a pretty penny before it's over. Any of you bidding on it?? Joe
-
Thanks, Skid. I just added it to my work calendar. Now to see if the navigator will go along with that. Got any nice but cheap motels close? That's the wife's definition of camping! Joe

Take a Looky. Ya'll have fun bidding on this one. Joe

Cowpuc, Thanks for sharing your stories. I always read your posts....You have lived a fascinating life. Reading things like this causes a hidden stirring in my soul. Maybe a "suppressed cowboy" lives there! Thanks again! Joe

Sometimes it's hard to get a word in edgewise with all you yakkety-yaks hogging the bandwidth!

As soon as I saw the post, I knew it would be pronounced as "terminal" and had only minutes to live! And I for one APPRECIATE keeping this stuff off the boards. It is just insane how something of a political nature brings out the worst side of so many people. I've seen it on the GWRRA message boards. In fact, I quit going there because of all the hatred being spewed by both sides. We sure don't need that here. This is just too great of a place to allow that kind of poison to enter. Thanks Don and all the mods!

But the Buy it Now is only $285. Don't mess around and lose it for a few bucks if it's something you really want.

Looks like a deal to me. I like the tire size, they look a lot bigger than you'll get on most economy-priced trailers. And the fact that it is an open trailer means you can use it for a lot more than just pulling on trips. Heck, take it to Lowes and use it to haul home your next water heater!!! I'd say pull the trigger!

Friend of mine rides a Vulcan 2000 and has over 30,000 miles on it. Belt has caused zero problems and still looks like new. He doesn't go easy on that bike either. The way I look at it, if a belt can handle that torque-monster the way he drives it, they must be pretty tough.
-
That wasn't my bike....just an idea of what they looked like. Yeah, I'd like a garage like that too!

I owned a Benelli 650 Tornado way back in the day...I think it was a 1970 model. Blue and White....it was my third bike. Loved it. Got desperate for money and sold it WAAAAAY to cheap to my brother-in-law. Who proceeded to resell it and make a killing. Live and Learn......

Here's the TMAX, Lynn. I just don't understand why the fuel mileage is rated so low....47mpg from a 500cc engine isn't very good. Good friend rides a 2007 Roadstar 1700cc and gets that. Only thing I can figure is that the automatic transmission is very inefficient.... Joe

I have it on good authority that Yamaha has released an official statement regarding the Whine or the Chirp (2 different sounds, BTW). Here is a copy of their statement: "Loud transmission noises save lives! Yamaha Motors is concerned about the safety and well being of it's customers, therefore we include at no charge this advanced safety feature." There's more, but you get the drift..... :big-grin-emoticon:

Where did you see one?? According to an article I read it wasn't supposed to be available until late winter/early spring. ???? I hope they are hitting the showrooms now, I gotta see one in person!!
-
Well, spit it out!!! I've never known you to be shy about saying what you think (and that's a Good thing!). I'm curious about your thoughts on this. Myself, I'm pretty taken with it. Of course, what we are seeing now is only a prototype. These buggers aren't supposed to make it to the dealer's floor until spring. A lot could change between now and then. Joe

I love it. I want one, plain and simple. Nuff said. Joe:Venture:

Kury Battery Gauge on RSV
FreezyRider replied to jryan's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Don't have any pix, but I did have one on my 99 RSV. Mounted down by the triple tree also. But, I wouldn't buy another one. I like accuracy....I like to know how many volts are crusin' through my system. Those colored lights don't really tell you much. Here's what I have now, and what I'd recommend: http://www.cyclemaxohio.com/inc/sdetail/4231 This is a nice, small and compact LED readout. Shows you exactly what voltage your system is putting out. And it even costs less than the Kury "glow lights". Check it out. Joe -
I have a 500c also and like it a lot. Just a few things that I'd like to see on it though, the first would be the ability to configure it to avoid U-turns. When I decide at the last minute to vary off course to check out an interesting road, it nags the heck out of me to turn around and go back to its chosen course. I'd like for it to just recalculate to my destination using the road that I have turned on to. I also would like for it to be lighter in weight. The thing is a monster. I have it mounted on the bike, but nothing seems to be real solid. It just weighs so much that it bounces around with every little bump I hit. How do you have yours mounted? Does it bounce around like mine? I'm always worrying that the mount is going to break from the constant jiggling of this beast. Joe

Here is a link to Mariner Fan's pictures from Sunday. Thought we should have them all available in one thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=26918 Joe
