U DA Man, Freebird!!! I searched Pinwall a couple days ago and didn't see those. They're mine now! I sure appreciate all you do. Joe

Bump..... Anyone have any idea where I can locate a set? Joe

I have just purchased an RSV, and need to find a set of passenger grab rails (handles) for it. The originals were removed and then lost. Anyone have a set to sell or know where I can get a set? Thanks, Joe

Hey Buddy, make sure that not only the weight of the fork oil is correct, but that it does not have too much oil in the forks. I got too much in mine when I first installed my progressives, and that's the way it rode. After I drained the excess off it rode great. Joe

Maybe you can answer my question.... Will the 2200T play MP3's while it is in map mode? Some that I have seen will not. When the MP3 function is active the navigation function is turned off. Also, can you load routes into this unit that you create on your computer? Thanks in advance... Joe

LOL, Donna and I just said the same thing while we were eating our dinner tonight! Great minds think alike, Dennis. Are you sure you can put up with us every year? Joe

Here's a link to the motherlode......Donna took a lot of pictures, there were too many to post directly to the forum. Hope you enjoy them! http://picasaweb.google.com/wingriders/LexingtonRideMay2009?authkey=Gv1sRgCNPKlruh_e_gSA#

Just wanted to let everyone know....I just talked to John. He and Teresa are both hurting in a lot of places today...shoulders, legs, arms, places that they didn't hurt yesterday. Teresa is walking on crutches, can't put any weight on the leg yet. She has a checkup with her Dr at 2:00 this afternoon. They are both thankful and amazed. Thankful that they basically walked away from this and have no serious injuries. And amazed that so many people here on this site bothered to send up prayers on their behalf. I keep telling them that the VR folks are the best anywhere! They're starting to believe me now! Joe

Ray is a really nice guy, and he's welcome to ride with me anytime, anywhere....I don't give a hoot what he rides. Unless it's a moped, I do have SOME dignity! Bob, go easy on poor ol' Ray. He told us what a slave driver you are, cracking the whip on him all day long. Poor guy...... Joe

Hey, that's awesome that someone turned it in. I probably wouldn't have even bothered stopping to check. Glad you got it back! I hid a key on my bike about 3 years ago. Have never had to use it (yet!). My wife and my best friend and riding buddy both know where it is, so if my CRS sets in they can find it for me! Joe

What are you doin' messing around on the computer? Don't you have to work today? Joe

Mean is Right!!! You could see the fear in the eyes of every waiter/waitress we encountered! Worked 'em half to death!

Lady Godiva still rides! Only in today's modern world she rides an Iron Steed piloted by her knight in shining armor. Guess who.......

Just so you can all see who John and Teresa are, here is a pic of them at one of our meal stops this past weekend. Matter of fact, I'll try to give you names of all the folks around the table, starting from the left: Janice and Lynn Dustman (not VR members, friends of mine) Sue and Kevin Call - Leadwolf56 Dan Bruno - dbruno John and Teresa Amstutz (not members, they are the ones who crashed) Marilyn and Bill Kinsey - Ky Rider

Will the Magellan 2200T play MP3's at the same time as it navigates? Or is it limited to one or the other?
-
I figured you might say that, Dennis. Never again.....

Folks, we just got home about 15 minutes ago. Heard from John, he called from the hospital. For those of you who wished and prayed for "better than expected" results....THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! God answered in exactly that way....NO BROKEN BONES, no internal injuries. Teresa has a severely bruised upper thigh muscle, a few other bumps and bruises, that's all!!! I am stunned....I saw her leg with the imprint of the guardrail post in her upper thigh. I heard her scream when they were trying to immobilize her leg, and when they lifted her onto the back board. I was positive that something was broken. The doctor in the ER was also pretty sure it was broken just by looking at it. Needless to say, we are all rejoicing right now. John's son is on his way to Madison to pick them up and bring them home. They will sleep in their own bed tonight! John has some cuts, bruises, and is now getting sore in a few spots. He'll probably have a sore week. PLEASE, PLEASE wear your helmet when you ride. Teresa's helmet is scary to look at....pretty banged up. If that would have been her head, this would be a very different post! Thank you all so much. Joe

Well, we are back from our excursion through the Red River Gorge. What an awesome ride! You folks in KY just don't realize how great you have it....the flatlands of Indiana sure don't compare to this. We are back in the motel for a short rest, then off to dinner at a pizza place downtown Lexington. It is in a converted Jewish Synagogue...some of you will probably know what I'm talking about. I'll tell you, Dennis and Valerie Traynor (MidRsv) are the World's Greatest Hosts! What a wonderful weekend they have made this, and all without asking anything in return. We have made some great friends, ridden some awesome roads, ate at some really nice places.....and to top it all off, Dennis presented each of us this morning with an 8.5" x 11" color collage of pictures of yesterdays events. What a special keepsake of this weekend. Two of the couples who came down with us are not VR members, have never read this board. They have been treated like kings and queens, and feel accepted by everyone. Bob, don't feel bad about not being able to be with us today. You are right, family always comes first. We still appreciate the work you put into today's route. Thanks again to everyone! PS....camera batteries are almost gone, won't be able to get my shots loaded until we get home tomorrow afternoon. Also got some video clips of some of the great roads, will try to get them posted too. Joe

Absolutely DO NOT buy that Gold Wing! The seller is trying to rip you off.....in fact, he needs to be taught a lesson. Send me his name, phone number, and address (could you also include a printed map to his house?) and I will go there and teach him a lesson for ya. In the meantime, please make sure he doesn't attempt to sell it to anyone else either before I can get there to pick it up .......... I mean teach him a lesson! Seriously, jump on that deal and don't give it a second thought! I tried to buy one last year that was a garage queen for 10 years. Carbs were disassembled, pieces missing, wiring needed done.....and the guy wouldn't take less than $750 for it. Sounds like this one is a BARGAIN!!! Joe

The March/April issue of Roadrunner magazine had a review of the 950 tourer. In summary, they loved it! The reviewer said that it rode and handled better than any other cruiser he'd ever tested except for the Roadliner/Stratoliner and it was on par with those. Two complaints he noted: limited ground clearance - hard parts scraped with only moderate lean angles - and engine vibration in the floorboards above 70 mph. The handlebars are rubber mounted so there is no vibration there. All in all, they said it was the best value on the market for a touring equipped cruiser. Hope this helps. Joe

BUMP The Lexington area Memorial Day weekend ride is almost here! Several of you have indicated interest, it's time to make the decision. Come one, come all!!! I've seen the ride maps that Dennis and Bob have planned....WOW, you don't want to miss this! Meet in Lexington on Friday evening around 7:00 at the Super 8 motel on Buena Vista Rd, then we're going to dinner at a local BBQ restaurant to start the weekend's festivities. Hope to see a lot of you there! Joe

:sign yeah that: I'm puzzled too! Joe

Hey Reiny, Congratulations! Just a suggestion, look around some of the GW boards and see what they say about putting a heel toe shifter on a 1500. Too many people have had tranny problems after doing that. I'd never feel comfortable with it myself. You'll get used to the stock shifter quickly. Joe
