Dennis, (MidRSV) this is all YOUR fault!!!
FreezyRider replied to FreezyRider's topic in Watering Hole
Bob, that would be great. However, we are having a "Blessing of the Bikes" at church on Sunday, followed by a nice free meal. After that we will be heading out to pick up Big Red. We have to get together soon. Still time for you to decide to come to Lexington next weekend! If nothing else, come down on Friday evening for the backyard party at Dennis', even if you can't stay longer. We'll sneak you in!- 35 replies

BTW, Dennis.....this one has the Kury Longhorn pegs out front. Stretches out pretty nice. You may have to take it for a spin and see what you think.- 35 replies

Won't matter where I'm riding! Actually, behind the Harleys would be a good idea for 2 reasons: 1. I can help all the ones that break down or lose parts. 2. The roar of the Harleys will surely drown out all the whining and chirping from the Ventures out front. :rasberry:- 35 replies

I wish!!! If only I were an insurance agent I could afford to do that. Gonna have to sell the RSV I'm afraid.- 35 replies

Bob, Going to Eaton Ohio. Not quite 2 hours.....at least not to get there. Probably 3 or 4 hours home though, the road is longer when you're going North!- 35 replies

For one thing, it does sit lower. The seat is a Diamond and was made for a 32" inseam. Anyone who has seen me knows I'm waaaaay under that....and I could pretty much flat foot it when I sat on it. It's going to take me some serious study-time to figgure out all them buttons!- 35 replies

She's a2003 with 67,000 miles. Bought it from a 66 year old man and his wife. They had bought it new. He just said it's time for him to sell, his interests have changed and they no longer tour. I did not buy the trailer, it was already sold. Didn't want it anyway. The lady said he had every available trinket on it.....he just smiled and said, no, not nearly everything. But it is loaded. Had to pay just a bit more than I wanted to, but got a ton of extras: Full face helmet with headset. Open face helmet with headset. Kury trunk rack bag Full cover Half cover Gerbing heated jacket liner for Donna 2 sets of Frog Toggs Stock seat Bunch of other gear....gloves, GW jackets, etc etc It has an F4 Customs windshield on it too. Pick it up on Sunday afternoon. Dang....it's a 2 hour ride home!- 35 replies

After reading your thread about the new helmets I decided to go look at new ones as well. In order to get the ones I wanted, I had to buy some other "accessories" to match. Now see what you went and got started!!

"I" basket and back to Dino!
FreezyRider replied to Shipper's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The H basket that I have is yours for the shipping cost. If you want to PM your address to me I can look up the cost and see what we're talking. Joe -
And how long does it take to do a valve job on our RSV's???? Guess it all kinda evens out in the end. I put 104,000 on my 1500 Wing and valve jobs were never a consideration. So....some things are a bear on the wings, and other things are a bear on the RSV. One thing for sure, Herb will never have to pull his carbs off...or sync them either.

"I" basket and back to Dino!
FreezyRider replied to Shipper's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
For any of you with an F or G basket who want to try to quiet your chirp, I have an H basket that came out of mine when I put my I basket in. I had never heard of an H basket before, but it makes sense that if there is a G and an I, there should also be an H! Maybe it will help someone. -
Yes, and yes. Got mine from JC Whitney, much cheaper than the big brands and work just as well. Really nice to be able to stretch out and relax.

I had a 94 GW, before riding a Venture all I heard was how top heavy they were. When I bought my first RSV, I wondered what everybody was talking about. In my opinion most of the people who talk about the Venture being top heavy have not owned a 1500 Gold Wing. Now there's some serious top heavy!

Another Intercom question - need opinions
FreezyRider replied to Yeah, Just Dale's topic in Watering Hole
Just a couple weeks ago I purchased 2 push-to-talk buttons (actually for a NADY radio) from Dennis Kirk for $12.99 each. I wired them into my system so that the mic is always off until the button is pushed, making contact and activating the mic. No road/wind noise at all now, at least until one of us wants to say something. This has made a HUGE improvement in our enjoyment of the ride. No wind noise, no road noise, no microphone amplification of engine noises...what a tremendous improvement. I fastened the wifes button to the underside of the left passenger grab bar. I fastened mine to the underside of my left handgrip where my thumb can easily activate it, even while my index finger is pressing the cb ptt switch. Works great, and is a very inexpensive solution. -
FYI - I updated. There will be 8 total in our group for Friday night. Joe

I don't think he meant that his RSV gave him the buzzing, I think he was comparing it to the standard V-Twin buzz that is felt in the grips and footboards. That was my take on it anyway.

You get what you pay for.....
FreezyRider replied to Condor's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The title of the thread got me to thinking, a dangerous thing! I have decided that I disagree with the title, because I RARELY get what I paid for. Usually less, far less........ a sad commentary of the times we live in. :confused24: -
Dang.....I'm going to be on an 11 day ride to Colorado and back. Otherwise I'd be there, if for no other reason than to collect on my bet with YOU Snarly!
-
And yet, there are some folks who don't think the $12 per year is reasonable. Can't understand their thinking!!
-
I think you should try that out and let us know what happens. It just may be a good system. Or, the crossing of those photons could theoretically open up a slit in the space/time continuum and allow you to ride through to the other side......where you'd maybe be young, good looking, and stinking rich.

1. 2010 Kaw Voyager. The 2010's have fixed a lot of the little issues that the 09's had. 2. Victory Vision or Cross Country. 3. Stratoliner Deluxe. This would move up higher on the list if it had electronic cruise control. 4. 1800 Gold Wing Ain't none of those probably ever gonna see the inside of my garage though. Too much $$ to put into a vehicle that sits inside for 4 months a year.

I can't envision you on an FJR, at least not for long. You really think you could be comfortable on that?

Hey Bill.....make it the 3rd week of June. We are going to be touring Arkansas that week. That would give me plenty of incentive to visit the hub! Joe
