  1. Yes found the overflow tank will check under tank tomorrow for cap although it seems to have solved the overheating problem itself tink it must have been an airlock inside engine i did 230 klms today and ran great
  2. Can anyone tell me is there a radiator cap on a 05 RSTD mine seams to be a sealed system as there is a thing that resembles a cap but it wont turn as a normal cap
  3. On order $14 ea called a plug in their listing be next week now
  4. Will know more later tonite ive been into the shop this arvo and they have no idea home taken some pics and printed them to help identify them i must admit looking at the parts plan they have even i could not match them
  5. Thank you Saddlebum this will do me fine
  6. Shortly after buying my 05 RSTD i installed sintered pads and S/S brake lines the type that go straight to each side caliper from the resivoir made a huge difference as i to was dissapointed in the stopping power.I did not know the R6 calipers would bolt straight on Mmmmm never have to much stopping power. Do all year models fit in the R6 R1 notice some cheap on Fleabay
  7. Has anybody got a downloadable parts manual for a 2005 RSTD the people here dont do any work on this type of bike and its sometimes hard to explain over the phone the part needed much easyer to quote PT/No Thanks Terry
  8. Been chasing a coolant leak from the rear left hand cyl its been droping down and sitting on the rubber cover for the clutch bleed screw.Today i decided to remove the false air fin on that side to see if i could find where it was coming from, just below the 3 holes that hold the fins in place is a 4th threaded hole that was wet around it wiped clean and dry thought i should go for a quick blast to be sure thats the correct leak.I anly got a Klm from home and coolant was pissing out got home asap. Found out that this is a welsh plug of some sort it and it blew out under pressure must screw in and snap off under tension i imagine. Two things lernt today 1/ Yamaha parts are really expensive $55 for the plug 2/ Dont ride your bike with the false fins off as they are designed to hold this plug in place More money more dramas just love it but would rather be riding
  9. Yip glad that his ass is toast. Good things come to those who wait well done to the military boys.
  10. And i thought these were to let me know i was moving
  11. Im thinking that this might be a direct result of me pulling the clutch lever in without the PP attached and the springs in place
  12. Going at last we have success it turned out that the slave cyl had bottomed out and not allowing the PP to go in far enough released the bleeder on the other side and bleed it by pushing the pushrod in after that it allowed the PP to move into the correct position and all is now working fine My thanks to all that contributed to this thread
  13. What plate should be on the outside that the Barnett PP bolts to at this stage i have a fiber plate but i havent removed these since start of job
  14. There is a friction plate on the outside it does look like one is missing judging bythe gap but i havent removed these at all so what is there now was there before.
  15. Well morning has broken been at it for an hr all the clutch plates are alined tried rotating the Barnett pressure plate in every hole but it still wont go in far enough i still have the same gap, it appears the big gear inside the clutch plates needs to go in as in every position it fouls the PP face also the michined gears on the back of the PP do not appear to mesh with angthing.
  16. Read the info will have to wait till tomorrow to try its 5.45pm and dark as hell will let you know how i go.
  17. Read your writeup Sleeperhawk but it does not solve the problem i believe the problem is in the Master cly as the clutch lever will not move at all ,when i tried bleeding it within the master cyl there is two holes if i pull the lever it appears to go into the hole closest to the lever then squirt out the other is this right? So much for a quick job them off for a ride been at this all day
  18. Put outer cover back on bled clutch but lever still will not come back to handlebar when pulled, start up bike ,as soon as put in gear bike stalls.NFI whats gone wrong here i assembled all to instructions HELP
  19. Removed pressure plate and spring and by pulling the clutch lever the push rod only moves about 1 mm should i remove the push rod or take off cover on opposite side and investigate why there is no movement how much should the pushrod move when pulling lever
  20. At this stage all i had removed is the outer ring, spring and pressure plate and installed the Barnett clutch kit which does not require me to remove the clutch plates i will however remove the original setup and try again with the upgrade kit
  21. After install and before replacing outer cover i tried pulling the clutch lever to see if all was working correctly is it normal at this stage to see nothing moving ie plates moving pressure plates moving. The clutch lever is hard as to squeeze in i reinstalled the original setup and still hard as way harder than before pulling down have i done somthing wrong here.I have not put completly back together yet as i dont want to destroy gasket untill sure. Awaiting a reply Thanks Terry
