  1. Fuel injection would lead to ABS brakes, weather radio, side opening tour pack and factory installed CD. Then you would have a cloned Harley Ultra, and who on here wants that.
  2. :)I'm probably going to sell my 06 Midnight Venture within a few weeks. Has many up dates Bub Exhaust, Tach, Guages and Rear Passenger Transformer Boards too list just a few. PM me if seriously interested and I'll return some pictures. Always maintained with the upmost care. Bill,
  3. I'll just let my Army Recondo training kick-in. Eat lite, carry lite, and travel at night. Worked for me.
  4. Foyerboy I too don't buy from MC Superstore. About three years ago I ordered and was promised a Metezler rear tire made from Germany. When I received it was made in Bazil, I returned for a full refund. Not rolling the dice with them anymore.
  5. No Cassette, where is a person suppose too think of installing gauges on this monster? WildBill,
  6. Had a Tarus 604 or 602 which was single action in .44 Special. This gun was a real tack driver, but ended up trading on a S/W 44 Mag. The Smith was nice but didn't group any better than the Tarus. I still shot mainly specials in the Smith anyway.
  7. They speeded the film up alot for effect. Had three GoldWings just didn't like the straight-up seating position with the motor infront of my feet. I like a more relaxed seating position especially on a cursier, which the F6B is marketed for. To each his own, thats why they have Harleys and Yamhas.
  8. Clutch slipping is often the result of using improper oil in these engines. They need m/c oil not automotive. Don't know if you were using auto oil with friction modifiers or not, just saying. Once the plates have slipped very much its best to just change them out. Bill,
  9. I own both a Yamaha Venture and a Harley RoadGlide. Both have their own riding and handling characteristics. Its taken me quite a bit of time and money to get the Venture to match the frame geometry of the Harley. Harley has prefected their handling and seat position too the point You almost forget to put your feet down at a stop sign. I like riding both of them, since I lowered the Venture front and back also the added gauges lets one know whats going on with the engine. Bill,
  10. The above happens about everytime my wife and I go out. I usually just mention to her that this idiot driver didn't get enough A$$ Whooping when he or she grew-up.
  11. Just got in from a ride and read your post. Removeing the front wheel helps silding the forks up considerable, you shouldn't need the BFH taking apart or reassemblinmg the triple tree cap. Don't get aggravated take a break and keep checking for both alignment and moved distance dimension. And as a reminder don't forget to restall the two dust covers. I'm sure you will like the lower front handling. Bill,
  12. You know what the best thing about being retired......More time for Ridning!!!!! Bill:080402gudl_prv:
  13. :stirthepot:To avoid whine or cluth slipping use motorcycle oil instead of automotive oil. There is a difference in both to heat and friction properties. Bill
  14. Whats the point here they are all out of stock? The REDNECK HOARDERS haven't got their basements full yet.
  15. No Rotella for me, use Honda 10w40 no clutch slips or whine in 45,000 miles on 06 Venture and also no friction modifiers included. Bill,
  16. No comparision between Glock and Sig., Sig is the one too buy and keep much safer to handle and operate. I just want too ride my Motorcycle and shoot my Gun and I do just about everyday. Bill,

Hey thanks alot my Dad fought too in France and Germany during WW11. Tom Brokaw coined them right, "The Greatest Generation", we owe them our freedom. Thank them when and where you see them. Bill,
  18. I got a Cassette Player that was removed from my 06 Midnight Venture which I never played. Installed gauges in the openning. If interested for $40.00 PM me. Bill,
  19. Yes, the tank does sit somewhat lower than even the stock Venture tank. LOL Dingy.
  20. I'm banking on you or Jeff coming through, thanks guys. Bill,
  21. aV or RSTD due to both having a 'standard' fuel tank . heigth above frame, 2nd is of VMax box, its lower, but much longer from front to back to compensate for height. Some pictures of a stock RSV system, and also an RSTD box along side a carb box from an RSV. Gary Why couldn"t You use the stock Venture air box and mount V Max ram intake on the side of the gas tank and flexible air duct to the air box....just a thought. Bill
  22. By all means let me know when they are availabe. I'm in the process of doing my bike plus a couple others are wanting valves checked too. Bill
  23. Does anyone have a 2nd Gen Valve Shim Tool for sale? If you have one you want to let go just PM. Can't stay on here really starting too get busy now. Bill,
  24. :080402gudl_prv:Wish You were a little closer. Had the same problem with FoyerBoys bike after rebuilding last summer. Anyway try this before rebuilding the carbs. mix a cocktail of Marvel Mystery Oil, Seafoam and B-12 Chemtool fuel treatment pour in tank and let set over night. Next day open pitcock let cocktail drain too carbs. check for leaking carbs shake bike to get floats operating again. If this doesn't work then order parts. Bill, Cafe' Racer turned Tourer.
  25. Right now I'm the proud owner of a 06 Venture and an 05 HD Road Glide, like riding both. They both have riding characteristics of their own which I appreciate. The Harley has near perfect frame geometry, whereas I've spent many hours bringing the Venture too this point. If only Harley would put the V Rod engine in a dresser. While building a friends Venture from the frame up this past summer I did alot measuring and thinking about putting a Venture engine in a Harley frame. I already have a name set aside the V-Max-Harley. WildBill:detective:
