1. If by chance your up my Mooresville NC., I'll be more than glad too help with the carb. issue. These engines want too run not set and be idle. Ready, waiting and able, just don't make house calls.
2. Bring Precious to North Carolina, Thumper needs some exercise and loves a challenge. WildBill:stickinouttounge:
3. Amen Brother......
4. :Venture:Yamaha Venture can be lowered front and back a full 11/2" without problems if done right. I've done several with happy owner results in improved handling at low speed. Work is done here in my shop in Mooresville, NC.
5. Road King/Road Glide bars Part# 56180-08 is the way to go in comfort. Pull-back 9.0" with 9.5" of rise. No more leaning toward the windshield.
6. How can they call this a touring bike without a tour box and a comfortable passenger seat? For $23,000 I expected more than a few Tech-Gadgets, pegs for your passenger really.....Its a choice but not real competition for the Harley line. You can buy a RoadKing for around $20,000 and cruise. This so called Indian Touring bike is really a cruiser anyway.
7. I added these for the wife for those longer trips. Modified Kuryaklyn Transformers, a little expensive, but when Moma's happy its a better ride.
8. Sending these Pic's of HD bars I installed a couple weeks ago part# 56180-08. With 9" of pull-back and 9.5" of rise no pain in the neck. The rise is still 1" lower than stock. Bill,
9. I didn't go with the Heritage Bar it has 12" of rise too tall for my riding habits. Dealer suggested those but I like the lower Road king/ Road Glide bar at 9.5" of rise and more pull-back. I too removed the Cat. from the collector, but that's another topic. Enjoy your bike. Bill,
10. Don, congratulations again on the new RoadGlide. I also found the handle bars to be uncomfortable on long rides not enough pull back. Just changed them out to match closer to what I had on my 06 RSV. Didn't like leaning forward all the time. Changed too Road King/Road Glide High Bars Part# 56180-08. They say high bar, but they are actually an 1" lower than your stock bars 9.5" versus 10.5" with 9" of pull back. They are machined for the Drive By Wire Throttle. Use existing cables and wiring just requires about 6 hours of your time. Bill,
11. Congratulations there, You'll be well pleased with this bike, I know. Got this 2012 hold over a couple months ago.
12. Before you start tweaking and bending check too see if the bar that looks off is resting on the top of the fork down tube. Also verify that the bar is fully seated in both handle bar clamps. They might have lowered it too far! Bill,
13. Getting back, 95% of the time if its not a component failure on a 12V system its ground related fault.
14. Does your First Gen. have a Tilt Angle shut off breaker like the Second Gen. Bikes? They do give problems on Second Gen. Bikes. Fairly easy to check just lay it over on a couple blankets in the yard. Bill,
15. If you look close I've got the RoadGlide and the CVO Dyna both after you got your Victory. I like the Victory engine had a 99 model with a 1600 in it. Just don't like the George Jetson styling they have now.
16. Just getting back: Had 03 Harley Ultra Clasic paid $18,000 in 05 sold in 11 for $12,500. Had 05 RoadGlide paid $12,000 in 09 traded a month ago for new RG allowed $10,000 on trade. Had 06 Venture traded on CVO Harley Dyna dealer allowed $5,500. I keep all my bikes in like new condition and all my traded bikes had over 40,000 miles on them. I do all my maintenance and put M/c oil in them. No valve or cam bearing failures yet. I don't own a cage the wife got one in her name. WildBill,
17. I looked but just couldn't leap, those big ugly jugs and that wart on the back called a touring box was too much for me. Went with better resale on the RoadGlide Ultra.
18. Fuel injection would lead to ABS brakes, weather radio, side opening tour pack and factory installed CD. Then you would have a cloned Harley Ultra, and who on here wants that.
19. :)I'm probably going to sell my 06 Midnight Venture within a few weeks. Has many up dates Bub Exhaust, Tach, Guages and Rear Passenger Transformer Boards too list just a few. PM me if seriously interested and I'll return some pictures. Always maintained with the upmost care. Bill,
20. I'll just let my Army Recondo training kick-in. Eat lite, carry lite, and travel at night. Worked for me.
21. Foyerboy I too don't buy from MC Superstore. About three years ago I ordered and was promised a Metezler rear tire made from Germany. When I received it was made in Bazil, I returned for a full refund. Not rolling the dice with them anymore.
22. No Cassette, where is a person suppose too think of installing gauges on this monster? WildBill,
23. Had a Tarus 604 or 602 which was single action in .44 Special. This gun was a real tack driver, but ended up trading on a S/W 44 Mag. The Smith was nice but didn't group any better than the Tarus. I still shot mainly specials in the Smith anyway.
24. They speeded the film up alot for effect. Had three GoldWings just didn't like the straight-up seating position with the motor infront of my feet. I like a more relaxed seating position especially on a cursier, which the F6B is marketed for. To each his own, thats why they have Harleys and Yamhas.
